Great food! Great service! Great vibe! Love Sunny the dog tributes! Great spot to eat whether inside or outside!

Finally got to stop in after hearing about the food and original dishes! It looks to be a busy spot and good thing they have outdoor seating as the actual restaurant itself is very tight. We got a table by the front door for 2 and it's interesting to have staff and customers squeeze by and one can see the bottleneck where we sat. Decor is cool with exposed brick, light shades made from wooden crates, nice heavy wood and metal tables and chairs. So the menu - great to see so much of it with local and BC sourced ingredients - the dishes all looked good so it was hard to narrow down what to order. The plates going past us all looked good - the egg fare, sweet stuff and the meats. They do have a couple of dishes featured from a food network show and I ordered one of them. Scrambled eggs on peanut butter toast? Why not and the Chicks on a Raft was very tasty with creamy eggs, crunchy toast , salty lardons tempered with the peanut butter. What I enjoyed was the green salad with their vinagrette dressing. A decent serving of green stuff and the dressing was such a great contrast to the main dish! Usually a side green turns out to be a teeny serving of microgreens or a couple slices of cucumber. My hubby had the Big Dog - it was a lot of protein! Nice selection of Elk pepperoni, brisket and 2 sunny side up eggs. I really dug the jam that came with his toast - gourmet jam and not kraft squares - loved the strawberry apricot and next time will try the other one ( basil blueberry) Left the restaurant very full and definitely coming back for more! Service was decent enough but a little stingy on coffee refills - haha hubby got 3/4c and they refilled my iced coffee with cold coffee and no ice. I got my coffee in a wine carafe so my glass wasn't full either. read more

I have visited Kelowna twice in the past year and I was lucky enough to find Sunny's on the first trip. Let me start by saying I had a perfectly good breakfast being served at my hotel and I opted to skip that 3 of the 5 days I was recently there and go to Sunny's. The hollandaise sauce is next level. The right amount of tart acid to cut through the fat of the sauce. And its super light and airy. I tried all 4 of the eggs benny combos and they were great. The vegetarian option was the standout for me even though I am a pretty staunch meat eater. Also, if your gluten free get the Eggs benny Todd's way. Which is served on a bed of their perfectly golden brown and delicious hash browns. The staff are all friendly and work in perfect harmony with each other. Which really elevates the experience. I would recommend sitting at the counter if you can so you can see the great folks making you food and see the love they put into it. And a top tip. If you want a mimosa go after 9. BC wont allow liquor sales before then. #foundoutthehardway read more

WoW!! What a find, we where recommended this place by the staff at the Okanagan Spirits store two doors up!! So glad we tried this place out. If you love to try neat little dinners that cook fresh food and have amazing homemade all day breakfast items, this is the place. I loved it so much I went twice in one week!! I had the Bologna cups on my first visit which where so delish. The coffee is super tasty and has a nice rich flavor. On the second visit I had the Big Dog Hash which was fantastic and had nice pieces or corned beef and chorizo sausage. I highly recommend this cute little dinner as a must try if you are in the Downtown area. read more

If you're in Kelowna, Sunny's is a must stop breakfast diner that all are sure to love! Our server Halle, was amazing! She gave us suggestions as to what was recommended and best enjoyed (basically the entire menu- you can't go wrong). We both ordered the Cluck and Grunt which I strongly recommend. PLEASE EAT HERE. JUST, PLEASE. First experience here was Mother's Day. We made it in for a late brunch. Later in the day, in anticipation of beating the line ups. It's a quaint place with a happy vibe and when you first enter, you'll see 3 large pictures on the left...of Sunny :) We were fortunate to be seated at a table with booth, but if you sit at the counter, you do get to see your food prepped h while waiting. Our service was impeccable. Our server was polite, prompt, and engaging (tolerable of our selfie taking). Food: amongst us, we ordered the triple stack pancakes, one with fruit compote and mascarpone, the other with Nutella whipped cream and caramelized bananas; Benny's, both on their cheese biscuit - one with their smoked salmon and other traditional; lastly, a waffle. Sides also included Sunny's bacon and the gypsy bacon. Pancakes thick, light. Syrup sweet. Nutella whipped cream not over powering. The Benny's were amazing. Hollandaise may have been slightly too mayo-ish, however this was asked for on the side, so perhaps a different flavor and texture profile than if added to the eggs right away. Came here for breakfast as it was around the corner from our hotel. There was a little bit of a wait, but I believe we had just come at an unlucky time shortly after opening where everyone had been seated at once and the tables all turned together. The service was ok, but the meal itself was disappointing. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles which was a different concept as the chicken in this case were formed in more like chicken sausage meatballs and the serving was tiny. He left here hungry for sure. I just got a basic breakfast of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. They have a couple of different options of bacon, so I tried whatever one is carmelized in brown sugar I believe and was disappointed as it was soggy and nothing is worse than soggy, fatty bacon. So for the price and all the stellar reviews, I was pretty disappointed in this place. read more

Great experience food, service and atmosphere. We arrived late Saturday morning. Andrea was our server and was easy and friendly to deal with througout our breakfast. The menu is small but has a good variety to choose from. My gf had the El Presidente and I had the Chics on a Raft. Both very unique and very delicious. The baguette in my breakfast (the raft) was melty...combine that with the skiff of peanut butter, the eggs bacon and green onion and each bite was perfect. The hashbrowns were fantastic. If i owned a restaurant and wanted to serve awesome hashbrowns, it would be an exact replica of these. The filling in the El Presidente was black bean and chorizo...wow, deliciousness with a kick and the tang from salsa verdi nicely compliments the dish. We liked the decor and i thought they make good use of the space. We will be back for sure! read more

Breakfast of champions , doesn't do Sunny's justice. You know when you are sitting beside another restaurant owner who's eating breakfast at a competitors restaurant you are at a good place. We had "Chicks on a raft" and Big Dog Hash. You wouldn't think peanut butter and eggs could work but boy did they play well together. Fabulous. The Big Dog Hash was fantastic. I could've eaten plates of the hash mixture. So yummy The food was great. And the bonus was our server Nicole. She was funny and engaging. She topped an amazing culinary experience. We were so happy to be able to come to Sunny's after being unable to come to Kelowna for 2.5 years. The food was amazing and service great. I loved their locally sourced teas and my husband appreciated the attention to detail to provide clean, gluten free food to accommodate his celiac's. We were glad we arrived just after it had opened as it was very busy when we left, and that is was a Thursday. Well done Sunny's we will be back! read more

Thought I'd check out this place for breakfast. They don't serve the lunch menu at breakfast nor have much for vegetarian options. If you're not down for eggs then your choices are pretty much having to mix pork with beef etc. I asked them if I could just get at least a chicken option of some type of chicken sandwich and they could only do chicken and waffles which I don't eat fatty foods like that so I was pretty much stuck to choose from one veggie bowl which didn't seem to be what I wanted or go mix beef pork and eggs. Most people eat chicken vs beef and pork so not sure why it wasn't an option and so I asked if they could make me the tuna melt off the lunch menu and they couldn't. So I tried ordering the sesame bagel that had cream cheese, arugula, tomatoes and avocado. When I got it wasn't toasted, and I had to put my own cream cheese etc on it and make it myself. You could tell the tomatoes were precut from the night before and thrown in the fridge as they were cold and soggy when I hit them and not freshly cut. I ate a couple bites and decided I didn't want it. My friend said his meal was ok. I wasn't going to complain but the head chef came over and asked if everything was ok so I told her. She was extremely kind and apologized and took it off my bill although I told her it wasn't necessary. Great place IF you want to lick salt. They should rename the place saltie's. Was told this was the best breakfast place in Kelowna. So I decided to try it. The dishes looked delish. But when the mean arrived, it's as if they brought a bowl of salt, with a side of salty salt. Brought friends here from out of town based on the great reviews, but very disappointed after eating here. Our group of 4 was seated at the bar, which is not ideal for a group who wants to sit together. Our waitress promptly took our drink orders, which was the only good thing I can say about the service. Once we received our drinks, she did not take our food orders, and instead went around to other tables, asking how their food was and clearing off empty tables. We waited a good 15 minutes after receiving our drinks before I had to flag her down to ask her if she could take our order- isn't it supposed to be the other way around? After we finally got our food, I was anticipating it to be worth the wait, but again, very disappointed. My husband ordered the breakfast poutine, one of the reasons we chose this place, but it fell very short of his expectations. Store bought type fries, only one egg, and overall a flop. Home fries would have gone a long way. The rest of the breakfasts were similar- nothing special, just filled our bellies. Overall? Would not recommend! read more

Had a great conversation with our fellow guests, chef and line cooks as we watched the rhythm and salivated over all the various breakfast options being prepared. We had an amazing breakfast here at Sunny's on Canada Day while in Kelowna. The vibe is very relaxed, and had great food and service. Our server was a delight ... I nicknamed her the coffee goddess for continually keeping our mugs full of delicious coffee goodness! We ordered the "Cluck and Grunt" and "Feeling Healthy?" ... loved the creative names for their dishes! Great music and and all female staff ... and chef Robyn came by to check on us ... nice touch! We wanted to eat breakfast there again the following morning but unfortunately they are closed on Tuesdays. Highly recommend! read more

So incredibly disappointed. On a Thursday at 10:30 am... 5 tables and a couple at the bar - not full. My partner ordered Breakfast Poutine and on the recommendation of the female server I ordered BBBBenny and the Jets with smoked salmon, and avocado on hash browns. My taste buds couldn't wait and I was excited. It took a while for the Breakfast Poutine to arrive. A different server told me mine was coming. I waited. My server said it was coming. Waited some more. Third server (male) said it was coming right away. Saw a plate that looked like it could be mine put into the plate warmer, sit for less than a minute, then taken down, some activity on the plate and then my breakfast was delivered. My partner was half finished his breakfast when my order arrived. Ick: Greasy burnt hash browns on one side with eggs draped in hollandaise sauce sitting on a few hash browns. No avocado showing on the plate - server said it was under the hollandaise sauce and egg. ick...... broke open the eggs, found a minuscule amount of smoked salmon and no avocado. Took a mouthful of egg, hollandaise, salmon and hash browns.... cold. Told the server it was cold and still no avocado. Cold hollandaise, cold poached eggs and cold hash browns. Server offered to make another one. I refused since my partner was now mostly finished. Server said he'd comp my meal and asked if he could bring something else. I refused. My partner is 5 mouthfuls away from finishing and if the length of time it took to get a second meal prepared and delivered was anything like the time it took to get my meal the first time, it would be supper time and we'd still be waiting. Server apologized several times, comp'd my meal and my partner's meal. Not sure I will ever get the taste of cold egg yolk off my tongue. read more
