I NEVER write reviews, but I have to get this one in before this food coma takes over. I happened to stop here on my way from Columbus to Birmingham. Honestly, I was going to Zaxby's, but the reviews piqued my interest. Suffice it to say if I EVER, EEEEEEVER come anywhere nearby I will be stopping by Sunny's. The food is excellent, buffet style or no. The fried chicken was heaven, the bread pudding was orgasmic, and the sides are all well done. Soggy fried food, bar empty with people waiting on them to restock, no one came by to refill my drink

This place was horribly bland. Nothing had seasoning. It was a clean place and cheap. My husband and I ate for 30.00. But it was so tasteless. Everything we both tried was just blah! It was our first and last time going. read more

Arrived with bus group at 5:15p. Restaurant was aware of group arrival time yet many dessert dishes had not been replenished nor many entree and vegetable dishes. My first visit and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Pork roast was tender and delicious. My collards & green beans tasty. Sampled the bread pudding and it was as great s everyone has mentioned. Sweet potatoes were also perfect. I sample a small piece of fried chicken and a bit disappointed- the skin was tough but imagine it might have been sitting there a bit. Sampled my friend's pecan pie and yummy abc a little of the Oreo fluff. All good! Attentive staff checking on us throughout the meal. Will definitely be back. read more

How any other restaurant within 25 miles stays in business is beyond my comprehension. Southern buffet at its greatest. Going down the line, found some really great fried green tomatoes, crispy fried chicken, and the softest flakiest fried catfish. Yeah lots of fried, but the butter beans, collard greens and rutabaga were tasty also. Yes, rutabaga. If your traveling between Atlanta and Montgomery, AL stop at exit 77 on I-85. First off, the staff could not be more friendly and attentive. The salad bar was fresh with many choices. The prepared potato salad and cucumber/onions were delicious. The hot bar!!! Delicious bread pudding, peach cobbler. Along with butchered on premise fried chicken. This is home cooking at its finest. Not fancy and that fact is a positive contribution. read more

The food was great my brother,Mother and me loved it and the bread amazing! Wonder why I gave them a four star instead of a five because of the cashier she's was rude and disrespectful and was being rude to my mother the other two people were nice when you go to ask what drink you got were sweet. read more

I am not a fan of buffet food but I have to make an exception for Sunny's. They have the usual Southern fare with fried chicken, vegetables, breads, and deserts. Their salad bar has several different toppings. It also includes a selection of fruit too (watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew melon, etc). For desert, can't go wrong with the banana pudding. Can't beat my banana pudding but it is still good. Price is about $8.00 per person for all you can eat. These days you can spend that at a fast food restaurant for one person and not have a 3 course "sit down" meal. read more

Hubby and I just found this place after moving to Valley from Atlanta almost a year ago! - Southern buffet (your usual fried chicken, mash potatoes, green beans, collard greens, SALAD BAR WOOT WOOT.. etc etc) - The host is very friendly, and greeted us making us feel welcome. I'm asian, and usually get stared down even goin to walmart. LOL. - Dont have a good variety of food (probably because i'm spoilled from atlanta restaurants, having everything from A-Z). this place was only okay, the lady at the front wasn't too helpful, we walked in & didnt really know what to expect, we though it was a sit down restaurant but it's actually a cafeteria style. there is carpet where the tables are set & someone was vacuuming the whole time we were there. the food was only okay. i would go back just to give it another shot since the reviews are pretty good & there isn't much here in valley. read more

They open cans & heat the contents for all veggies. Flies are your table companions also. Whoever fires the food either over cooks or under cooks. I took my mom there at her request. She saw feathers on the chicken and that was that. She then went to the dessert bar and a fly was stuck on the cheese cake. I was at the salad bar and was looking at what they offered, saw a fly stuck in the tuna and another bug in the cheese. It was about then, my mom grabbed my arm. I heard her gasp. She said, let's go to Milano's and eat real cooked food or just take me home and let's have a sandwich. this place used to be really good. the one in Roanoke is good... This is the 3rd time I've been in the last year and it has taken a nose dive... food that has taste tastes funny... the rest of it has no taste. fried green tomatoes at both locations are laughable... they are always soggy and cold.
