This is the worst establishment, sadly to have to say this. It was assured though we stepped into a homeless shelter and run down Crack house. While doing our check in, a homeless man walked in and inquired if any of the customers have thrown away any food for consumption yet, ....wow!!! The first two rooms the staff attempted to place us in had bugs, cockroaches and missing light fixtures, ladders thrown under the deck walking area to the pool, asbestos in a doored closet . Mold, Bug's, and Greed. AVOID!!!! The weekly rate is doable. For the rate, it seemed like a decent place. We treated our room for bugs. Got matress covers for the beds ... there were literally bugs on the beds when we arrived, but we needed the room. Moved in, paid a week up front. Talked to Ashley, the manager, about how long-term stays work. Loved Ashley. They let me know they have a 28-day policy . Once you've stayed 28 days, they inspect. If everything's okay, you can stay. Perfect. The pool was closed, and that's actually why we chose this place, but no biggie. The website said waffles and sausage would be served at breakfast. That was just lies in advertising. Think food stamp breakfast. Nothing hot, bagles, toast, cereal, juice, milk. We were fine with hot coffee, cold cereal, and bagles. We were pretty happy in our moldy little room. That the hotel advertised as an apartment. We stayed about a week and a half before we went to the office and attempted to pay for the next night. They refused the rent. They wanted us to move to a 3rd floor room in a different building with less than half hours notice. They say 2 hours, I have receipts. We told the woman in the office that we'd been very up front about our intention to stay a few weeks. We told her we'd talked to Ashley, the manager, and we'd been told it wasn't an issue. We asked to please see Ashley, the manager. She said she was Ashley's boss and that Ashley was off today. It turns out our little moldy room is in the remodeled building. I did notice they'd tried to cover the mold with gunmetal grey paint. I was real surprised though that this was the nice building. Weekly motel renters support the industry in the off months, but are always treated 2nd class. With that perspective, even with the mold, the non-working fire detector, and the microwave that doesn't spin. When I told the woman who identified herself as Ashley's manager, that Ashley was aware we staying longer she said "Not in my first building you're not!!" She really is proud of that building. If this is their best, I warn you, stay clearrrrr!!! I asked for an accommodation for my husband. He's had several heart attacks and really can't do flights of stairs. They got an attitude and threatened to call the police, which they eventually did. They have us a half hour to get out. They treated us like criminals. My best guess is they accidentally overbooked. They also must be fixing that pool.soon, it was uncovered ans their room rate tripled overnight. Either way, AVOID AVOID AVOID THESE ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. The rooms are really sub par too. If you're looking for a weekly motel... you're going to be paying upwards of $2k per month. Don't give it to people that use and abuse families like these people. They put a grandma out on the street proudly this morning for absolutely no reason. read more

This is looked upon as a value hotel but due to how unclean it is, I suggest you find value elsewhere. Unfortunately due to its proximity to the hospital and the nightly cost, many families visiting loved ones at Kaiser may stay here and depending on the situation, might be making things worse for the loved one. This hotel is not clean, not at all. My last stay left me with a bad fungal infection on my foot that has been taking weeks to treat and get rid of. My first night, I went in and went to bed as I was beat from a long day of travel. I woke up in the am and showered, walked back to the bed to get dressed and the bottoms of my feet were black from how dirty the floor was. I rewashed my feet and put shies socks on, called the front desk and was told "yeah we keep talking to housekeeping about that". I booked a reservation online and it said pay later, I drove a good distance and it was 102 degrees and I wanted to use the pool. I was hot and sweaty. Upon arrival, they told me I can pay cash with a $250 deposit, or I can use my debit card but only they can Input the number. Then they told me they don't accept Chime Visa even though the reservation was made with a Chime debit card. Very outdated and suspicious system. Absolute disgusting place. No matter how cheap or expensive, cleanliness should not have to be a privilege. Like seriously just wash the all the sheets and blankets! Washer and dryer are invented for a reason, so you don't have to wash by hand. It's not that hard. All everyone ask is a roof over their head and a clean place to sleep when traveling. Make sure your card is charged when you're standing at the desk or soon after. I work nights, the point of extending the day before was so I wouldn't have anyone knocking on my door. Tell your staff, these doors are thin so every snide comment you make can be heard. Original The staff are nice. Bugs galore (spiders, ants, gnats, weird ones) but that's probably because it's summer and I'm on the bottom floor. Old furniture, old building, basic rooms. My bed in one room was comfy, moved to another, not so much. The breakfast is cereal, bagels, oatmeal packets, yogurt. I'm here for a few months, travel nurse at the hospital across the street. Speaking of, half the people live here so there are no discounted rates for staying months on end. They do have a weekly rate that is decent, even in summer months. The usual residents look sketch but are nice. No one will bother you or your stuff. It's close to the mall and another shopping center. Close to the freeway so getting around is a breeze. It's a budget friendly place so have budget friendly expectations. You'll have a clean, quiet, and safe place to sleep. I'd stay again if in the area. read more

alright - what an interesting property lol this is the old clackamas howard johnson built in the 1970s but nicely upgraded with stone in the main lobby and some cool lobby lights. The beds are pretty dang rickety and old - mattress was ok but probably one of the cheaper quality ones. Linens were acceptable but paper thin and very cheap. The location of this place cannot be beat--it's right off i205 about 10 mins from PDX airport, Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital, a ton of small shops, plaid pantry and an assortment of food options. I'd definitely avoid the baja fresh and go with the dave's hot chicken- so good!!! Being so close to the freeway there was a 20DB background noise till around 1am but whatever - some of the piping is very dated here and starting around 530a the showers fire up and it's very loud but not too terrible. Wifi was operable but don't expect to stream 4k oled quality here lol Customer service was excellent however and the price was right at 60 bucks a night - this is pretty much what this place was--a budget no-tell-motel that at $60 a night met my standards. The morning coffee was excellent and they do throw in a continental breakfast! I'd stay here again but not for more money unless some serious investment went in the place! read more

I'm a single mom who recently lost her home. My partner, my son, and myself were staying here for a little over 3 weeks. I have 2 jobs, one during the day and one at night. We don't do drugs, we kept our room clean, we were quiet, and are polite. When I came in to pay for more nights after my night job, after that long of staying here, I was told that they were no longer allowed to rent to me. No explanation, just a note from the manager, Michelle, to the night staff. I still have not received an explanation and I did not receive my deposit back. There is massive drug activity here (I stepped out of my car only to find a needle on the ground), and when said activity is pointed out to the management, they don't care. Pictures do nothing, and people are, essentially, told to look the other way. I recommend because of the price and the location, but 10/10 do not recommend if you have children. read more

I recently stayed at Sunnyside Inn and Suites it was an absolute nightmare. The moment I walked into the room, I was hit with a wave of smoke odor that saturated the entire room. The room iwas disgustingly dirty, with gross dirty walls, beat up furniture, no shower curtain, and broken television. Don't be fooled by the decent photos online, because it's a complete bait and switch! I would call this a TRAP MOTEL at best. Despite complaints to the staff about the cleanliness and odor, they were dismissive and unhelpful, displaying horrible customer service and the woman told me, " not my problem" on several different times in our conversation. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone unless they enjoy the idea of staying in a grimy, smoke-filled environment with staff who couldn't care less about their guests' comfort. read more

The price for the room was affordable but I don't like the bed or the TV. I didn't know until this morning but I ended up sleeping with bed bugs as I woke up with bite marks all over my legs. The room was clean, but dated. The furniture was dated, it looked like my third or fourth hand college furniture, but missing drawers and pet scratches. This is a pet free motel. The deadbolt between my room and the adjoining room was nonfunctional and could not be locked. I was concerned for my safety and that of my service dog. When I was checking in, the desk clerk attempted to ask the two questions allowed by the Americans with Disabilities Act, 1) Is your animal required for a disability? 2) What work or task has your animal been trained to perform? Instead I was asked what my disability was, invading my privacy. The TV only got one channel. My overall impression was I was staying in some version of the original Bates Motel. read more

I would not recommend this motel to anyone. I was having surgery at Kaiser Permanente, this location seemed perfect for my wife while I was in hospital. When we got to our room it looked like it had not been cleaned, there was one set towels like brillo pads, but worst of all, the room was very musty and smelled like a cat litter box. The staff, though friendly, seemed unconcerned when my wife called them about the room condition and that we would not be spending the night. No refund was offered. Absolutely dreadful. If I could give this place a ZERO, I would. From the horrible GM to the staff who could care less, if you found feces on your comforter. Do not send anyone you care about to this establishment! First walking in, it was so dark that you could hardly see, there wasn't one bulb in that place over 20w, and only half of them worked. I later found out why. There was a spider web in the corner so thick that I could bounce a dime off of it, that's the good news. The bad news was, the comforter separated from the sheet, and exposed dried forces all over the flip side of it. I asked for room to be cleaned, they refused, quoting Covid protocol, although other establishments were still cleaning my rooms, but taking precautions. So I asked for clean linen, to change my own. Upon doing so, I discovered more disturbing details. The mattress protector had pools of blood stains, not cleaned and stained, but just hadn't been changed. The pillows were not any better. There was mold and scum so thick on the tub, that you could see the run stains from the cleaning spray. I pulled the desk out to work, and there was a piece of bread in the corner, something dark running down the wall, a large spill on the shelf next to the bed. Clearly it hadn't been wiped. I feel the renovation on the room was half done as there were large cut outs in the wall everywhere, where my spider friends came out to visit. I paid for 8 days, voiced my concerns 3 times, to deaf ears. I later called the GM because I wasn't even refunded my $75 deposit, she said to talk to my bank, the First Lady had a second response, she claimed they kept my $ because "they didn't know I had a dog." Bold face lie, I claimed it through booking.com AND upon my entrance. I even asked if they would like to see my paperwork because he's a service dog and she said, "no, I just won't put it in." The GM did say to send her the pics and she would refund, I did and she did not even write back, let alone try to make this situation any better! Caution ~ the pictures you are about to see are gross, disturbing and disgusting at the least! This was all during this years Thanksgiving week. read more

THE WORST!!!! Pre-paid for a room. My place was out of power due to snow storm. I just got off work and was soaking wet from my construction job. Check-in at 3pm, but hey told me I couldn't check in till 4:30 or 5pm. I wasn't going to sit there soaking wet, so I went someplace else. It's SO bad that I tried to upload pics but I dont have enuf storage space on my phone to post the pics- which is a HUGE SHAME. The pictures are worth 1000 words! This place should be SHUT down for PURE filth. There was black mold growing on the walls, the tiles falling off of the bathtub. There was actual blood on the carpet, not to mention really nasty stains from God only knows WHAT. When you pulled the bedding back, not only was their long hair... But there appeared to be "pubic hair" as well. Yeah, that's right- I said GENITAL HAIR! There were some kind of questionable "stains" On the duvet cover ( if THATS what you wanna call it). I've never seen anything quite like this. Never EVER stay here. This is probably the worst place I've ever seen in my life. This Spot keeps a healthy stock of snack and beverage in the lobby, Free of charge. Also this hotel has a cafeteria like setting where you can make waffles and pancakes at any time of the day that you so choose. We were honestly happy to arrive at our room and found it clean as could be. I will mention that this hotel is open during renovation so there are some cluttering sights here and there. Another misconception that I often hear around these parts is that the hotel charges an insane amount for smoking on the property. Let us not forget though. That the hotel does not own the air that you breath and I think that what they really mean is that you should try to stick to a designated smoking area away from the rooms and children. Be respectful. The sunnyside inn and suite has sent out refunds for those atrocities disguised as credit charges. I do also know that that the 1st and second building are some what of a homeless shelter as the first and half of the second floor are used to donate solace to the struggling individuals and families in the area. A friend was here for the weekend and stayed here. I decided to come over for a visit and share the free breakfast offered. It was really excellent. My friend and I chose waffles and pre-warmed syrup, and also had great coffee and OJ. Before we left to go shopping at Clacamas Town Shopping Center, we stopped off at the office to check on a a couple of questions. The reception area was nicely appointed, clean, and warm. The Inn employees were very friendly and efficient. Before we left, we stopped off in my friend's room, which was immaculately clean. The full bed had a great mattress. When we finaly left for the mall, there was plenty of parking, with easy accessibility in and out. I really like this inn and found it very pleasant. Rates are very affordable. Please do not stay here if you value your belongings. In hindsight I should have known not to bring valuables to a hotel that is only $70 per night. The rooms unfortunately do not with safes, and I blindly trusted this establishment to not steal from me. I was incredibly wrong. My boyfriend and I had left for an hour. Upon coming back to our room the door was open while a random man who worked there was painting our door. We went inside and all of our belongings were nowhere to be found. We went back the the front, and there was a misunderstanding in our rebooking of the room. They handed us our belongings that had been moved to their office. However there was one thing missing, my MacBook. The manager swore up and down that her team would never do that. She told me she would investigate who had access to the room and contact me after. She never contacted me. In fact she literally took the next two days off. When this was brought up to one of the front desk staff, we were told if we kept asking about it and "causing issues" that we would be kicked out of the hotel. This hotel is good if you're just going to stay in your room for your stay, or if you have a car and take your belongings with you when you leave. Stayed at probably 500 hotels all around the world from US, Europe, Austria. This hotel has the WORST DAY MANAGER I have ever delt with period. I am professional I have made 6 figures most my life worked for most Fortune 100 companies as a Business Analyst. We booked through ORBITZ and stayed a week no problem. After the week I could have booked again through ORBITZ. Instead I thought maybe I could save booking directly through website or front desk.. Here is where the TWILIGHT ZONE started... Come into the front office after staying a week through Orbitz and not seeing any managers because no need. Once at the front desk was told they could do better the Orbitz but price ended up about the same. Paid for a week upfront ( Do NOT ever pay this place ahead EVER). She runs my card for a week...keep in mind she still has my deposit through ORBITZ for $75 also. AS WE GET TO OUR DOOR it was like a pack of wolves...and like a team effort..First we had a cleaning lady not our normal cleaning lady. She goes that rooms unavailable the people checked out. I said oh I'm sorry this is our room we've been here for a week. Cleaning lady store.ws off towards front desk?? Do t know why, next thing I know day manager I just paid a full week ahead shows up like she's never seen me before...and says you have an hour to leave .WOW I just paid for a week...you have an hour or I'm calling the cops...for what? I couldn't understand what happened...I said I just paid for a week and you have my deposit? I want my money back...she laughs and says you'll have to get it through the owner good luck...may take 5 days..maybe they won't give it back to you... so we leave because we can't believe what happening twilight zone...now I believe manager and cleabing lady working as team stole my money or deposit and rebooked my room I paid for a week probably to cash renters. Totally ripped off a whole week plu deposit. I'm seeing charges and locked the card because the day manager had acces and now random charges on card I have to go through bank. This place is a total fraud. Beware they will take your money your credit card and either steel the card info, of day manager throws you out to re-rent the room I'm pretty sure she's making a good bonus ripping people off. The way I see it is like this...yes you ripped me off for about $400 but this review will cost you $10k in lost rentals. You can't be a good business and have a bad manager you support. read more

We were very disappointed in our room. The window faced the highway and the window frame seal was damaged to the point the window would not close. They should have known about that before we arrived and fixed it!! Highway noise was very loud! We called the desk and a handyman arrived but couldn't fix it. No other room available. My husband ended up jamming cardboard between the glass to close the window enough to block the noise. Laminate floor in the room was not clean and in the morning there were what I can only describe as bug shells across back of sink, which had not been there night before. There were also quite a few people wandering around parking area day and night. Didn't feel safe. First time and last time! We won't be staying there again! read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel 2 months ago and enjoyed our stay. We had our 3 yr old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon dog with us and there were zero issues with him staying at the hotel. This breed of dog does not shed and he rarely, if ever barks. Long story short, we decided to book a room at this hotel again to break up our drive from Bend to Seattle. Upon arrival the front desk was unattended while the associate was outside smoking. The staff member saw us pull up and put out her smoke once I entered the lobby. She walked past my vehicle and noticed my dog in the backseat. The first thing out of her mouth was, "we do not allow dogs over 20lbs". Such a warm and inviting welcome...not. This came as a huge shock! I stayed at this hotel 2 months ago and had no such issue. Their website does NOT state this "new" policy and is listed as "pet friendly" on all search engines. I was extremely put off by this "new policy" that isn't stated anywhere online but was even more put off by this woman's non-existent customer service. I booked the room through a third party website and she completely brushed me off when I inquired about canceling my reservation. Update your website and update all of the sites that book rooms for you. Update your staff. You should never have a person who likes the sound of their own voice saying "no" greeting your guests. read more

Cautionary tale: Saturday I decided I wanted a pamper day with my sister at a hotel with an outside pool so we could lay in the sun. I researched "hotels with outdoor pool near me" (in milwaukie). Up popped this hotel: sunnyside inn & suites. The online pictures were pics were NOTHING like the actual room (see pictures) Immediately upon arrival I had a bad feeling at check in. Lets just say the guests checking in were "sketchy" The second we stepped in the room we wanted to run! Well I did...but my sister was trying to be positive. I proceeded to take pictures (see pics). Im talking HORROR! Dirty floors, bad paint job (black?!?) Peeling vinyl, moulding missing,plastic pillows, bla bla (see pictures) We decided to get out and go shopping locally. Came back a few hours later to play a game and then finally turned the TV on to watch a movie and NO CONNECTION!! Called the front desk and they sent a guy into our room to fix.(10:30pm) Of course he couldnt fix it (he wasnt a technician) We were just frustrated!! To which he actually said the words "Yeah this place is pretty bad" we then decided FORGET THIS!! Went to the front desk to check out and get a refund. They tried to offer us an "upgrade"  jacuzzi room w/ cable but no refund. As if we were going to sit in a jacuzzi in that nasty hole at 11pm!!! I just wanted a refund and leave. I explained I read online a review that said "still waiting for our refund" and her response was "Thats just the druggies who trash the rooms and want a refund" WTF????? We packed up and checked out! OH, and side note: there were 2 cop cars at the front entrance when we went up there to check out!!! In the end I did get my refund but i feel the need to find a way to get the hotel to be responsible and honest by putting up pictures of the actual hotel rooms and quit false advertisement! This was such a horrible experience!! I cant help but feel bad for some unexpecting victim to be put in danger in the future!!!!! read more

The half level construction creates stairs on any story you choose. Go down steps to the first floor or up a half a flight to the second floor. Not a stay for people with disabilities. The area is worry-free in comparison to a lot of otherwise fine motels in Portland besieged by homeless camps. Staff is pleasant. Wish I still had my photos to share. I made my reservations on line based on photos that did not represent the true hotel. Booked a room with what was suppose to have a jacuzzi in the room, as a surprise for my wife, but upon arrival was very embarrassed. The room was dirty, had toenail trimmings laying on the floor, the room just stunk, and no jacuzzi. When I went to the front desk, I was told I had made a mistake, thats not what I reserved, and would not receive a refund. The following day I returned with my laptop, got ahold of somebody higher than the night clerk, showed them exactly how and what I reserved along with my receipt, and where it said "Jacuzzi". After much effort and threats of legal action, I did get a refund. read more

Check in was fairly routine. I inadvertently used booking.com which meant we had to wait about a half hour before my reservation came through at the motel. I asked the woman at the front desk if she could call me when it did while we went to pick up food. To their credit, she did call and we checked in shortly after. They put us in Building One on the first floor which appears to be mostly inhabited by people and families down on their luck. I'm happy they have a place to be but I honestly would have preferred being on a higher floor. Since we made the reservation last minute and were only staying one night, it wasn't a big deal. Ok here's the bad news. The queen bed had bulging springs coming up from it and was about the worst mattress I've slept on probably ever. We are in our 60's and a mattress like this could do us in. We woke up plenty sore. On a positive note, the shower was hot and had good pressure. They are stingy on the towels but again for one night, it wasn't a big deal. There was a fridge, micro and a flat screen TV, all contributing to the 3 stars. Generous since the bed made me want to deduct five stars! The price of $59 lured me in but ask yourself how much a comfortable bed means to you. If it means something, go down the road to Monarch or Clackamas Inn; If you have a dog, Comfort Inn. We will pass this one by next time. read more

I stayed there for a night couple of weeks ago, the room was okay and all went okay till checkout. 2 hours after i checked out, my card was charged $250 without my authorization, i called the hotel and they said they can't say anything as there was no manager. I'm out of state, I was about 40 miles away already, yet still i drove back to hotel to check why they charged me $250. The front desk clerk said i smoked in room and they have PICTURE evidence of me smoking. I have never SMOKEN in life, so asked her to show/send me the picture, she didn't replied to that and called manager on the phone and they went to check the room again. After 15 mins, they said they charged my account by mistake and they'll refund. I left the hotel then and waited for few days and i don't see the refund yet, i called back the hotel and they said i can talk to only manager on this issue and i have to talk only the next day 8AM. When i spoke to her, she said the refund isn't initiated and its my mistake i smoke in room, I asked to send picture evidence she talked about as proof (i didn't still get those). She said she'll investigate the issue on her end and will get back to me, but i didn't heard back from them yet(about 10 days now). I opened a dispute case with my Credit card company and waiting. Blood on mattress. When I called to make reservation, she said they couldn't take my card number, so do online. I did online, but when I got there, they said you are supposed to do it by phone. We reserved ADA singke queen.. but she argued that it was King, then double queen. She had the TV so loud, she couldnt hear us. We even showed her the reservation. We left. My daughter visited some friends who were staying here and forgot her car keys in their room. Turns out that one of the people she had been visiting had used a fake ID when renting the room. The "manager" refused to return my daughter's keys to her when she came back to collect them, even though my daughter had nothing to do with reserving the room. Reading other reviews it's clear that others have had similar issues. From the location and photos, I'm sure this place has to deal with it's share of druggies, hookers, etc. But that does not give them the right to steal from visitors to their hotel. read more

andnearly 2oomiles away from home, sleeping in my car the previous night or two, I wasn't really expecting what was sure to be THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A HOTEL. After booking on Hopper, and getting what we thought to be a great deal we were soon to understand why. At check in, I was informed that the gift card my family had given me was not acceptable form of payment for the deposit. After shuffling funds around for an hour or so and 2 or 3 trips to 711 and the ATM, I was able to allocate the funds on the desired form of payment, which ended up being an embossed paypal card with my name on it. Then I was asked for identification for everyone staying in the room. Myself being the only guest I handed over my Id. I was then told that the manager was just in and wouldn't be renting me a room for that evening. No reasons. Just flat out no. You can't stay here. A short argument with the desk staff resulted in me stomping away mumbling something about the non refundable booking... Only to walk into the manager herself outside smoking viciously on a pack of camel cigarettes. I asked her why I was being denied? "Because you don't have I'd for everyone staying in the room" why yes I do. Oh she meant my driver. MY DRIVER WAS EXPECTED TO PRESENT ID. Ok I'll play that game. "My driver has id and will gladly present it to you". Nope you can't stay here. Frustrated? Yes. I strolled back to my car to notify the booking agency Hopper of my encounter. 45minutes and 1o additional dollars to talk with Hopper support staff I was still no closer to getting a room or my money back when sure enough. SHE CALLED THE POLICE AND TOLD THEM I WAS BREAKING INTO CARS IN HER PARKING LOT. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! DISGUSTED. DOWNRIGHT DESPICABLE. the end result. Hopper did refund me all of their fees associated with this booking. But the hotel refuses to refund their 45 sorry ass dollars... Keep it. U obviously need it more than I do. Maybe u can use it to do something about that infestation you've got going or the unfinished sheetrock and exposed electrical around your outlets. Broke down back woods podunk never could have been grabbing for every penny they can reach. read more
