It was clean, spacious and welcoming to a great time together. The location on the island is perfect. A beautiful view of the lake, easy walking distance to the town. We did get passes for the pools at the Crews Nest next door, well worth the extra fee. Walk out the back door of the house and you are practically in the pool! The huge front porch was beyond relaxing and had plenty of comfortable chairs for us all to sit together. I was a little concerned about not have central air, but the units they provide in the house kept it cool in the house. We will be back again, no doubt!

We did the jet skis, the parasailing, the cave tours, the winery tours, the putt putt, the butterfly experience, the tour train... and much more. Kudos on the nice pool and being able to hang out unmolested. We rented a golf cart and drove by some of the other pools and there's no way we would let our kids hang out at a resort with "twerking" and foul mouthed djs. Thank goodness the pool here is family friendly and no profane rap crap. The house was great as usual. Ran out of toilet paper but the staff (foreign girls) were quick to bring more when asked. Maybe we were just here too long, ha!

While we did not stay in the inn, we did walk around the beautifully restored first floor and enjoyed a rest on the lovely patio overlooking the lake where the ferries come in. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, they even changed their own plans as well! As for the house itself, it is something out of a story book! Suzee is an exceptional designer, and the entire house feels lively and comfortable. You truly feel at home. You get the entire upstairs which includes a massive bedroom, a TV room, and a private bathroom. No one bothers you or even checks up on you. You are given the house key, so you are free to come and go as you please. With being only 1 mile from the lake (great for sunsets!), and just minutes from the great local shops and restaurants in Sandusky, OH, the Cottage Rose is the place to stay! (Especially at only $85 a night!).
