Owner Bart met us at the front door and welcomed us. He gave us the tour of the property and showed us to our room. Rooms and common area were very clean and comfortable. Views of the lake are great and very relaxing. Bart has Direct TV and Sunday NFL ticket so you get to watch every football game plus movies. Breakfast was cooked to order not buffet and was very tasty. On one night of your stay you get a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. Overall it is very relaxing and a nice getaway to the lake.

Sunset, lake, wine, and cheese plate.

We spent two evening here in mid-July and had an amazing experience! Bart and Sandy are wonderful hosts and have an amazing home. We stayed in the "Herring" room, which is the smallest room they offer. We would definitely stay in it again. The bedroom window has an amazing view of the lake! Don't be concerned about the bedroom window facing the community porch; the bedroom window has privacy glass, so people on the outside of the window cannot see into the bedroom (if the bedroom lights are turned off). It also has its own private bath with a very nice and modern shower. We checked in on a Friday night and were given tour by Bart. Every guest receives a bottle of wine and a cheese plate. We received a bottle of "Mon Ami" Pinot Grigio, which is a local winery and restaurant only 1/2 mile from Our Sunset Place. We settled in and watched the sunset - it was AMAZING!!! I will post a picture. Another great thing about Our Sunset Place is its proximity to many of the area attractions. On Saturday, we drove to the Kelley's Island ferry and spent our day on the island. We also visited Marblehead Lighthouse before having dinner at Mon Ami. Everything we wanted to do was within 20 minutes of our stay. Breakfast at Our Sunset Place is served at 9am. Both breakfasts included plenty of coffee, juice, fruit, and muffins. The first morning we had two eggs baked in a piece of ham with pesto and tomato, which was very good. The second morning we had French toast with peaches and bacon, which was excellent! Both days the weather was nice enough we were able to eat on the porch and watch the lake. They own a very nice dog named Monroe, who entertains the guests by swimming in the lake during breakfast. I highly recommend staying at Our Sunset Place!

The whole location was super whimsy and adorable! As for the food, it was amazing!!! We ordered the charcuterie board as an appetizer, which was gone in minutes. The poke bowl was my friend's, and she said she enjoyed it and said it was similar to decomposed sushi. I got the lemon ricotta ravioli and it was DIVINE. Generally, I'm not a big cheese person, but I loved this. I ordered it without the ricotta topping, but it was still delicious! Very rich and comforting. All in all, delicious and definitely worth checking out if you're in the market for a charming but fancy dining experience.

There were 8 of us. And 1 was a 2 yr old. The good. They have a good amount of choices to drink. Their wine, guest wine, and a full bar. So lots of choices. We tried the summer blush. It has strawberries and peaches. It was good. I enjoyed it. We bought a bottle for $25. Orders lunch. I got the Korean cauliflower appetizer. It was pretty small. Giant piece of leaf lettuce in it. And the ranch dressing was also inside of it. Not a ton of the cauliflower. Kinda disappointing to be honest. I ate it. I liked it. But not sure how it is supposed to be shared by a table with not a lot of food. Disappointing. My partner got the portobello sandwich. She said it was very sloppy and just OK. So food is kinda pricey and not really worth it. This is a nice winery. Plenty of choices to drink. Lots of space inside and outside to sit and drink and hang out. Wine is OK. Food in my opinion is pricey and not as good as it should be for the price. Staff was nice. Plenty of parking. This almost feels too touristy and just a money grab. Just my opinion. Probably skip next time I'm in the area. Try something else.

We got there at 11:45am. Upon entering, a pleasant young lady greeted us and, as they were not at all busy, told us we were welcome to choose any table we liked. So we sat right at the window along the river with a very nice view. Quickly thereafter a bubbley, smiling face arrived by the name of Sara. She brought us our water and took our drink orders and away she bounced... marvelous. Shortly after, she returned with our drinks. She very effectively answered our questions and we placed our orders. We were both not too hungry so we stayed with the starters menu. We shared an order of the "Heavenly Biscuits" and I added the "Marinated Olives". Then we both had a bowl of the "Lobster Bisque". Everything showed up in a timely fashion and in proper order. All of it was excellent. I must say, the bisque was exceptionally meaty. A pleasant surprise. As we were finishing up I mentioned I was looking forward to coffee. When Sara arrived I told her we would both like a cup as soon as we were done. With a big smile she said I heard you talking about it and already started a fresh pot for you. I was amazed... such a simple thing, but an example of extraordinary service. My compliments to Sara and the Lakehouse for employing her. After finishing our coffee we took a long stroll on the boardwalk all along the East Bank. It was a very nice afternoon. I recommend the Lakehouse and I highly recommend Sara... ask for her.

Unfortunately, they couldn't put us together, but we made it work. The location has a spectacular view of Cleveland's skyline. Even with some haze, it was lovely. The food was a hit with everyone. We started with the clothesline bacon and a cinnamon roll. It was perfect for our table. The bacon was not candied as described. It was good, but not something I'd order again for the price. 5 "ok" sugared bacon. The presentation was cute and the blueberry preserves were tasty. The sliced baguette toast was way too hard (break a tooth hard). My Florentine Benedict was cooked perfect,y. I opted for the fruit instead of the potatoes. I didn't realize it would be a $4.00 add on, but it was fresh and all the fruit was perfect. Others had the chicken and waffles, with a side of blueberry sausage, a smash burger and various yummy cocktails. My pomegranate mimosa was delicious and the plump blackberry was scrumptious. The family wall of pictures was a great tribute to life, family, love and Michael T Joseph who sadly died too young. It's a wonderful place to go with friends and family. I highly recommend when you're looking for a special place. Looking forward to coming back. PS: please donate to https://www.awakeningangels.org !

If you're going for a lake view restaurant, this wasn't it. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady. Seated by the window, we were pleased by the menu and the daily specials. Our server was very prompt and courteous. We ordered the walleye sandwich and the perch sandwich. Both sandwiches came with hand cut french fries and coleslaw. Our son ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup. Our food arrived very promptly. My wife and I both loved the fish and felt that it was one of the best fish sandwiches we've had in a long time. The fries were rather limp and could use some more attention by the kitchen to make them stand out more. I like a mayo based coleslaw, so I didn't really love the slaw, although it was fresh and tart. The soup was very tasty and the grilled cheese was done just right! Overall, we would recommend this restaurant and we can tell that the local crowd likes this place and has kept it in business for a long time. Now if they only had that lake view restaurant!
