I highly recommend Sunnyside ! I had been suffering from sciatica pain down my leg for 3 weeks going on a month before I went to Sunnyside. I was working with a chiropractor 2 days a week and an acupuncturist 1-2 days a week but it only gave me temporary relief. The pain was worse than I had ever experienced in my 10+ years dealing with sciatica issues. I literally walked in crouched over trying to avoid as much pain as possible since the pain never stopped regardless of my body position. The physical therapist was very patient and extremely knowledgeable about my issue. She worked on my leg for maybe 45 minutes and it immediately felt better ! Almost to the point where it was gone ! Thanks to them, my mom doesn't complain to me so much about her physical pain (And she complains a lot about everything)! My mom had years of shoulder and back pain due to her job. In fact, it was due to her work compensation referral we landed here. We were here for a few months then sadly had to switch due to the work compensation. After seeing a different physical therapist for my back injury for about 6 months, I had not seen any results. I came to see Lude and she walked me through helpful stretches, taught me how to do them at home, and did an amazing job stretching me out and massaging the problem areas on my back. She was great at checking up on my progress and moving me in the right direction for healing. I immediately began to feel better. I'm happy to say that after about 6 visits I have almost no remaining back pain, and I am finally able to begin rock climbing again after 1 1/2 of injury. After going through a less than satisfying experience with the nearby hospital, I called around and found Sunnside Rehab. I suffered a stroke in 2013 and wanted a program that would be a bit more challenging in my recovery. Have nothing but good things to say about Sunnyside Physical Therapy and Wellness. The office is easy to find, and the parking is readily available. From the moment you walk in you are treated with the utmost respect. Lude is extremely knowledgeable in her field. She is compassionate and patient, carefully explaining things along the way so you're educated and can maintain the improvement. She took the time to explain my injury and answered all my questions. She gives clear explanations for the purpose of each exercise or procedure. At the beginning of each visit, she asks about your pain level that day and uses that information to determine exactly what she is going to do. She goes out of her way to make sure the exercises she has given you to do are working and at each appointment always adds a couple of more. She works diligently to help you get on the path to recovery. I have a torn meniscus in my left knee. I went to Justin for Accupunture, before the treatments my left leg had significant swelling and fluid retention by the end of each day. Now after 5 treatments the swelling has been reduced to nearly nothing! The pain in my knee has also been reduced. During my last visit I complained about pain in my jaw from dental work and he stuck a needle in my wrist, of all places, and the pain just drained away! I began my therapy back in November at SunnySide Therapy. It was their previous location and I had been seen by 3 of the massage therapist. Each were wonderful in their unique way because they offer different modalities. I am still being seen at their new location with Maya and she is amazing. She is super knowledgeable, friendly and gives you a massage that makes you doze off all the while working through your stressed/injured muscles. The pain subsides and all the tight muscles I feel that trigger shoulder, neck pain and migraines are worked thoroughly. I have not had the opportunity to work with Lude, the owner, for Physical therapy but she too is very helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. She is always a text away for any questions or to set up an appointment. I am being treated for a work-related injury but it has also turned into part of my self-care routine. I have known Lude for at least 2.5 years when my husband started to have lower back pain and knee pain. She was highly recommended by a dear nurse and friend from the VA that was going to her as well as her husband. Lude is beyond amazing! She is so talented, so knowledgeable and always learning about the latest techniques and therapies. Her skills in diagnosing the source of pain and treating it with the proper techniques is magical. She is so kind, generous and so friendly! Later on, I became her client due to pain in my neck stress induced and hip pain. Lude saved me from all those pains! Being in healthcare I am extremely impressed with Lude clinical knowledge and clinical eye and confidence. She definitely knows her stuff! Lude is the full package for an extremely successful Physical therapist as well as the depth in her conversations attract you so much to her. I cannot not speak highly enough about this team! I had been to 4 different physical therapists before getting a referral to Lude and Cintia. Before I came to Sunnyside, It was always the same drill, and it made me feel like a means to end...one of many on the mass conveyer belt of costumers coming through the door, given stretchy bands to work out with and print outs for home. If those therapists put their hands on me to get me out of pain, it was minor, 10 minutes max. I didn't seem to get better and came home feeling more sore than before I went, there wasn't a balance. Sunnyside is a completely different experience!! I had various injuries for over 5 years that weren't healing completely and Lude changed all of that!! She practices whole body wellness. She gave me exercises to work on, and yes, would have me do some in office, but she also made sure, that before I left, I was less pain than I came in with! She sent me over to Cintia as part of my therapy, who by the way, is hands down the most skillful massage therapist in this area! Since being discharged from Lude, I have been pain free, but still schedule sessions with Cintia routinely, to make sure my frame stays free from tightness and tension headaches, due to my herniated disc in my neck. I even started sending my husband to Sunnyside for therapy and he is amazed at the difference in how he feels and how easily they identified the sources of his nagging ulnar nerve pain and achilles tendon issues. They took care of it and he is playing soccer again for the first time in over 12 years!! I love what these women do! I love this practice! This how medicine should be practiced~this is how Physical Therapy should work!
