My son has been in Sunnyvale Christian School for around 7 years, from pre-school till 5th grade. He loves the school and the teachers A LOT. Even after graduated from SCS, he would volunteer to go back and help out in SCS's Christmas program and other events. Teachers there are loving, caring, professional and spiritual. They are good Christians. My main goal of sending my son to SCS was to build up his Christian character (apart from the nurturing from home), let the school train him to be a responsible person and a boy of integrity and SCS did that just WELL. My wife and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this community of teachers, parents, and administrators. My son just started 2nd grade earlier this week. This is his sixth year at Sunnyvale Christian School, and we love it here!! My son first started attending Sunnyvale Christian Preschool when he was almost 3 years old. The Preschool program is amazing. The Staff are professional, supportive and more importantly, loving. My son was speech-delayed and his 3 yr-old and 4 yr-old preschool teachers happily modified their learning approach with him to match his speech therapist's recommendations. My son is now on the elementary side. The teachers are well trained and supported by the office administration. The love for God, the kids, and their colleagues are evident in all my experiences and interactions with the office staff and the teachers. When COVID hit, I became the" teacher's assistant"! Over Zoom I got a front row seat into the classroom, and it only deepen my appreciation for Sunnyvale Christian and their amazing staff. So, when the school applied for and received the first State waiver to reopen, I was elated! The systems and protocols they put in place to keep the kids safe and keep the parents informed were remarkable. They thought of everything! SCCS is an excellent place for a toddler to start his/her school life. The small class size is great for a beginner. The school is neat and tidy. The director Mrs. Eaton is very attentive. The teachers are kind and nice. My daughter started attending SCCS when she was 2.5 year old. This is the first and so far the only school for my girl. In about 10 months' time, I see my girl has grown from a baby girl into an outspoken person, plus she would obey reasonable instructions (some exceptions occasionally). The program is well designed for an all round development of children. My girl has learnt a lot from the story time and the weekly chapel time. Not that they know how to read, but they develop an interest in reading. Not that they can perform very well on stage, but they can stand up and speak freely in front of the people. All in all, we are grateful to SCCS. I highly recommend the preschool. I believe kids can grow and thrive in the SCCS family. read more

So, I don't actually have children...nor do these mythic children go here, but if I did, they would. I've volunteered at some of the events for the school (one of my friends is a pre-school teacher here) and I love how the teachers just love and care for the children. The kids are all really bright and learn a LOT. They are well cared for and taught not just their ABC's and their 123's, but morals and respect for themselves and others. Last year we placed our two children in Sunnyvale Christian School because we wanted our kids to have the benefit of in person learning. Very quickly we noticed the staff did not exercise good judgement. From recognizing a valid immunization record to making reasonable judgments about children having Covid symptoms, this staff does not show common sense in their decision making. Repeatedly I heard the phrase "we are just trying to walk in the light" from some of the staff. Over the year at Sunnyvale Christian School I came to the opinion that this school resembles a secular school more than a private religious school-it just has the word Christian in it's name. Over and over again the leadership and staff showed they do not have wisdom or principled decision making abilities based on maturity gained from reading and learning from the Bible. The staff and their pattern of questionable decisions ultimately led to a very bad experience for our entire family. We would not trust this school with our children for another year. read more

I can't say enough great things about Sunnyvale Christian School! From my first call in to inquire about preschool openings, I was welcomed with a warm response. My daughter has been attending preschool there for the past 5 months. She loves the teachers and administration as do I. They truly care about each child and I drop her off each morning with complete peace knowing that she is in a loving environment. Her 2 classroom teachers send out a weekly schedule ahead of time so we can familiarize ourselves and stay engaged. One of my favorite features they have in place is the Seesaw app. The app allows us to get photos and updates throughout the day. It's never easy being away from our little ones, but I can always expect a quick photo of her smiling face. It's just a wonderful school and am so thankful my daughter is enrolled here. read more

My son has been studied at Sunnyvale Christian School for almost 3 years (from 2 y.o. class till accelerated 4's). We are leaving this school only due the financial issues otherwise we would definitely stayed till the very end. Stuff is very friendly, programs for the kids (and I'm speaking only for preschool program) allows kids to learn/write the basics of letters, numbers, shapes, colors etc., studying also includes art projects were kids learning to draw, paint, shape cut etc. Ones a week kids go to the chapel and perform a song and parents are always welcome to see. During the Christmas kids prepare program which include singing 3 christian songs with the help of background music. Preschool and Elementary usually perform on a different dates. Kids has a few field trip during the year which includes the Zoo, movie (during summer program) pumpkin patch, Hidden Villa Farm, also during the summer program they have a lot of fun as a water play day (if weather permit), slide, jumper house, clown day, all school BBQ days etc... The only minus for me was that school has way to long Christmas break (2 weeks, they provide the daycare services but it doesn't include in the monthly tuition and you need to pay for these two weeks). They provide a year calendar so you can see all days when school is closed and plan accordingly. In general we had very good experience at Sunnyvale Christian School and keep coming back for Summer and extended care programs! read more

My daughter has been at SCS since preK and is still attending and is in middle years of Elementary. This school is amazing. People staff and teachers are truly wonderful and loving and like family. They do summer school as well and my daughter looks forward to it every year. We give her options and she insists on going to her school for summer. My older one has been coming here for the past 5 years and my younger one for the past 3. What I can tell you about the staff/teachers is that the love the children. When I say love the children, they care deeply about them and provide an environment where each and every child is wonderfully nurtured. Just noticed on Great Schools.com review section that a lot of reviews for SCS were removed. There were about 20 last week and now there are only 14. As a parent, this makes me wonder what is going on; and makes me wonder what was repressed. This school has good teachers and a good curriculum. The curriculum could use music and foreign language as a regular part of the day as opposed to only getting offered during extended care. The facilities could use an upgrade and suredly, the addition of a stand alone library would be great. So, why do I have this school rated so low? As pointed out before and on other sites, leadership is inadequate. Not to belabor a point, but the pieces are in place; new leadership would make SCS a five star overnight! read more

My son has been attending Sunnyvale Christian School since 1st Grade. He loves the teachers and the staff. It is a "family" here. From the Christmas plays to the Talent shows, every part of our experience for our son and the atmosphere is simply amazing. Teachers such as Mrs Vickerson and Mrs Austin as well Mrs Wilty and Mr. Easton have been like Fathers and Mothers to our son. We are SO BLESSED to have found this school. One experience stands out. Our son was awarded most honest, and had a Happy Meal with the principal Mrs. Christy. My son still remembers this lunch to this day. It was the honoring of my son's positive behavior that stands out. The academics are strong, but mixed with the ethical and spiritual element cement in the minds of the children a moral compass. Thank you Pastor John for the insight you share in Chapel with the children. I have enjoyed the sermons as much as the children and when the children sing together it is simply like being in heaven with angels. As a 27 year Veteran Law Enforcement Officer, I have seen first hand the bad decisions young people make if they forget to learn about core life values like Sunnyvale Christian School has given to our son. It is a tremendous blessing to have the Academics and Spiritual mentors that Sunnyvale Christian provides! I know our son will always remember his experiences at the school! This school leaves a lot to be desired. This school could be a good school; but there are some huge leadership issues. The previous principal was awesome and lead with love and kindness to staff and students alike. Quite frankly, I expected more of the same. Boy was I mistaken. This current principal has a Hyde and Jekyll persona that would make anyone question their sanity. She is not consistent and has no accountability as there is no recourse for her actions; she is married to her boss who is the senior pastor of the church. Make no mistake, as long as this principal is serving at this school, the cracks in the foundation will continue to grow. read more
