When they contacted me in response to my email to discuss this discrepancy, I expected a professional conversation. Instead, I got attitude, excuses, and a dismissive rep who told me their own monitor might be wrong and his truck is right because it's inspected by the county once a year. So apparently, their technology is unreliable and customers are just supposed to accept whatever number they're billed for -- no transparency, no accountability, no respect. This company's customer service is unprofessional and arrogant. I'll be filing a formal dispute with my bank and reporting them to the BBB. If you value honesty, accuracy, and respectful communication, avoid Duncan Oil.

This is the "value" provided to those that pay the fee (see original review below for context). I still do not like such fees, especially when they are added after so many years. However, now I understand the value it is providing. I will note that the value provided by the Tank Lease Fee is provided to all customers through a lower per gallon price, while not all customers pay this fee. This creates the situation where those paying the lease fee are subsidizing the customers that don't pay the fee. If the intent is to offer a lower per gallon price by using fees, perhaps a fee that applies equally to all customers would be more appropriate? Original Review for context (1 star rating): Having been a Collett Propane customer for over two decades, I was shocked to receive a $60 bill for an annual "Tank Lease Fee". The tank has been in the ground for over 20 years and now I'm being charged a fee? What value is Collett propane providing to me for this money? The answer is simple: NOTHING! This is pure GREED! Ordered one from menards, it also didn't fit correctly due to the dishwasher and they brought the wrong cord for the new oven anyway. I had them take it back and was told I needed to go into the store to get my refund. I went into the store and got the run around and was told I had to contact Menards.com, so I did. Below was an email I received from Menards.com telling me the store should've handled this. I did finally get my refund, but it was minus $162. I will never shop at Menards again. Lowe's and Home Depot have way better customer service and actually give you ALL of your money back on a return.
