Had a really nice time. I can corroborate what other reviewers have said already. It's a small local shop with wonderful breakfast. I had an omelet and grits. Very nicely prepared. The coffee was fresh and hot and tasty. No complaints. I had breakfast but if the lunch is half as good then you won't be disappointed. Prices were reasonable for what I got. Be aware, it is a small place and it's good so they are busy. It was crowded but the tables were turning quickly and I didn't have to wait long. The ladies working were all very friendly and were trying hard to accommodate everyone. They don't have any 2-top tables or a counter so I ended up sharing a larger table with some folks who sat at the other end. Not a problem for me, but some people don't like that. It's tucked into a small shopping strip in plain view of the road but still you might miss it driving by. Parking was easy even though they were busy. Just driving through Mississippi and stopped by to eat breakfast, amazing service and food !! 10 out of 10!!

Sunrise is a small restaurant, 9 tables, tucked into an older, small business strip. Parking is shared with other tenants, but is adequate. We arrived on a busy Monday morning at 10am. The restaurant was full, but we were seated within 10 minutes. Coffee and water was quickly delivered and our order was taken. My youngest ordered strawberry pancake's and scrambled eggs, my oldest son ordered 3 egss with sausage, bacon and hash browns. I ordered a cheese omelette with sausage and bacon, grits and toast. My daughter ordered eggs and hash browns with toast. We all very much enjoyed. Will definitely return this trip. Service was excellent. Price was affordable and well worth the visit. Decided to try sunrise on our trip back to Texas. Great local breakfast spot. Pancakes were delicious. Very affordable! A must try!

My husband and I met some friends here for breakfast a couple of weeks ago, and we had a really great experience. The restaurant is small, simply decorated and bustling. The entrance is bright and welcoming. The service was fast, accurate, and friendly. I got the corned beef hash with 2 eggs and toast. My husband got the Biscuits and gravy with a pancake. The hash was perfectly crispy and hot, the eggs were fluffy and the toast was toasty. I'm usually not a fan of Biscuits and gravy, but their version of it was good. The gravy was well seasoned and not just plain. Rating from F to A +++ it gets an A+++. read more

The place we originally wanted to go to had over an hour wait for food and we found this out after waiting in line for 30 minutes. So we stumbled onto this hidden gem and boy were we glad we did. On vacation for a few days on the Gulf Coast and had to try this local breakfast/lunch spot. A small unassuming place but don't let the outside fool you. It's loaded with great flavors. There were four of us for breakfast and everything we ordered was really tasty. First of all, great service that is kind and prompt. The restaurant is small and has limited space, so coming for breakfast during the weekend can be a feat. Everyone was bragging about the food while we waited for a table and I think it raised my bar a little too high. The food is decent and something that can be made at home... nothing overly special. This little place right off Highway 90 was a great place to have lunch. It appears to be a good place for breakfast, also. We had the patty melt, which was delicious, and the chicken salad club sandwich- also very good. It was a little warm in there (temps in 90s/10s down here) but the servers were excellent although I'm sure they were hot too. A couple of fans would be nice. Will be back. By far the best breakfast restaurant I have ever had the honor of visiting. While it is a smaller place, it only makes the ambiance 10000x better. Such a homey cafe, the staff is so lovely and lively. Usually I can never finish a plate of food, whether it is good or not, but this time I had to have every last bit that they offered me. Is it fancy? Negative. Is it good? Affirmative. I am a huge fan of the divey breakfast joint. Sunrise may be off the beaten path and far from fancy, but it is most definitely my kind of place. The old adage of not judging a book by its cover is a good one. From the outside this breakfast joint doesn't look like much. Once you're inside it isn't any fancier but the service and food will win you over just like it did for me. Because the restaurant is rather small, you may have to wait for a table. There isn't really any good place to wait so be prepared to stand outside or mill about by the front door. Service is provided by two young servers who seem to have a connection to the place. I'm not sure if they are family of the owners or not but they provide friendly service as if they've got a stake in the operation. The food is simple yet delicious. Omelets are served perfectly cooked with an excellent egg to stuff ratio. This is a concept the fancier joints seem to mess up with their thick eggs overwhelming the stuff inside. Sunrise achieves that perfect balance. Hash browns are the griddle cooked variety and slightly too crispy for my liking. The addition of copious amounts of ketchup saved them though. Biscuits are light, fluffy and delicious. Prices are very very reasonable. If you're in The Bay and want a great, cheap breakfast, check out Sunrise. read more

I really love this little cafe. Really really. It's hidden away in a little strip mall so you have to look for it but when you find it you'll be happy, it's affordable and yummy. When you come, seat yourself and be prepared to feel like you're eating at your mom's house again. I love the breakfast quesadillas and they are served with sour cream and salsa. Yum! The hash browns are the good kind. Skinny thin cut slightly burnt carbs galore. I dove into those like whoa. Still regretting that ;) If you're a lemonade lover like I am skip it here as they brought out some sort of Gatorade version of it-not good at all. Stopped here on the way to the beach! Not a large place but you better bring your tastebuds! I ordered the Ultimate philly hash browns and it was delicious.
