After not living or having contact with my father since I was 13, a judge appointed backs as our "reunification" therapist. From the first session with Backs I have been very clear that I do not want a relationship with my father due to him physically and emotionally abusing me and my sister. I have told her multiple times I do not feel safe being around him and do not want to attend these therapy sessions. However the abuse does not stop with just my father, Backs has used these sessions to abuse me as well. Backs has attempted to turn me against my mother and my siblings, she has dismissed my father's abusive behavior and is constantly trying to manipulate me as well. After finding out I had been recording these abusive sessions Backs told me I was in violation of HIPPA and what I was doing was illegal and a violation of her contract, not only is this a blatant lie as HIPPA pertains to health care providers also since I am a minor I can't legally be bound by a contract. This doesn't even cover half of the things this crazy "therapist" has done. If you don't believe me just check out videos and audio recording of these sessions with Michael Volpe.
