This is a standard bait and switch. They quoted 120 to 150 and they charged $488. They replaced all of the brake components without authorization and completely took advantage of a college kid who didn't know too much about his bike. These guys are immoral and their labor fee equals more than any Dr or Lawyer fee! Their "repair" bill was more than the worth of the bike! Be ware stay away! read more

I bought a vintage Schwinn and needed to get it ready to ride. I went to the local competition in town, but they didn't seem like they cared much, and had a long waitlist. When I went into Sunrise, I was greeted nicely and I immediately felt like I made the right choice going with them. Jeff and his wife admired my bike and made me feel like a proud owner. They gave me two new tires and tubes, and even threw in a cleaning without me asking. Exceptional service. Very cool local bike shop with a unique feel. Stopped there to buy a helmet since I forgot mine when I was visiting Logan, UT.

We needed to ship a mountain bike at the end of our vacation, and this place was incredibly helpful. Found a box, and packing material specifically for bikes( reused materials to help keep our earth clean!), and even helped disassemble the bike when we ran into trouble. Lent us tools, and a measuring tape. They had a very nice, shady porch area to work in, also. They made a task which seemed too difficult to accomplish, actually possible. I agree with the other reviewer. This is a real bike shop. They have old parts to fix about anything and new parts and bikes as well. Many of the newer shops are just fancy places where you can barely buy a tube or patch kit, Sunrise has about everything. The guy who started this shop, and I think who still owns it, is very cool and a good, honest guy. His name is Jeff. Check out the shop when you are in logan. Highly recommended. Sunrise cyclery saved our bacon again at the start of yet another LOTOJA. A helmet and shoes were forgotten and they came through. Didn't gouge and set us up. Years ago I had a cleat break just 15 minutes before start time. They set me up and fitted me in 7 minutes. Jeff is the bomb, his shop is the bomb. I brought my cruiser bike in to get repaired for a flat a few weeks back. It cost me $21. 30-40% higher than most stores in salt lake city. No worries, not that big of a deal. Brought it in a couple weeks later because the tire was flat again, the valve cap was missing after a ride, and the rear brakes hadn't been working since the first time. I thought to myself again, no big deal. Mistakes happen. Then I was told I had a pinch flat, that it was caused by hitting something hard, and that the brakes must have been that way already. I paid them another $21 and left with my rear brakes untouched the following day. I'm not one to usually hop on these sites and complain, but I don't know if I'll be back to this facility again. I don't quite trust them, as friendly as the rest of the staff was and how knowledgeable the guy repairing my bike appeared. 3 stars for the cute pup who stole my heart. read more

WOW!!!! What a great group of people. Took my bike in for new tubes and a look over. I love to ride but I'm no bike expert. Without doubt theses folks are. Jeff is fantastic and so is his crew. They explained to me why my tires kept going flat, what they suggested and why, cost, etc. They did a Tune-Up for a very fair price including adjusting tires, gears, seat, brakes, etc. Jeff explained seat position and why a bike seat should beads stead certain way and even took my bike for a test ride to make sure all was as it should be. I also got a tour of the place and a great impromptu presentation on his very own, patented Shelving, Work Station, Wall System. If you have Food Storage, a garage or Shop you must see this!!!! I guarantee you will be impressed and want this type system for your home and or business. Yes, it is that unique and sturdy beyond anything you have see. These guys will be my "Bike Shop" from now on. I would drive 100 miles to have these guys work on my bike. If you are going to invest the money in a quality bike then this is the place you should both buy your bike and have it serviced. Huge thanks to Jeff and crew. I am very disappointed at how poorly I was treated the last time I was in the shop. I took my mountain bike in to get a quote on replacing broken components. I also wanted a quote on upgrading to better components. I specifically asked the owner Jeff to contact me when he knew how much it was going to be. A simple quote, should have taken 10 minutes. 2 days later, I called them to see if my quote was ready, and the owner told me they had just started to work on my bike. I specifically told them I only wanted a quote for the cost of the repair, not for them to actually start working on my bike. I went there and they walked me through what I already knew I had broken, then told me it was going to be about 200 dollars more than what the components originally cost me. I showed them how much I had purchased the components for before, and then the owner started to back track and explain why the new ones would be so much more expensive. Telling me that there was all this stuff wrong with my bike, even though there wasn't anything wrong other than the broken de-railer. The owner Jeff proceeded treated me as if I was a child and started to talk down to me, resulting in him forcing me to pay for the "work" they had already done. I am not one to get online and complain about things like this, but if this has happened to me, other people should know they kind of business they are dealing with. read more

Some time ago, I was building my first set of wheels for my bike. As a guide, I had been reading The Bicycle Wheel by Jobst Brandt. I was also talking to a new friend of mine at work who was very knowledgeable about bikes. I came to a point where the book and my friend did not agree on something, so I called Sunrise to get a third opinion. Jeff answered the phone, and after describing my question, he asked me how many wheels my friend had built. I had no idea, and told him so. Jeff kept pestering me for a number until I made one up. He then said, "Well, I have built hundreds of wheels in my life, so why would you take your friend's advice over mine?" What I did not know at the time was that my new friend was the previous owner of Joyride Bikes, and had likely built more wheels than Jeff. Jeff then wanted to know what I did for a living. I asked how that was relevant. He said, "Well, I just want to know what kind of a person would call an expert like me and ask a question like that." He then said that he was not trying to be rude. I told him that he was anyway, and that I had my answer, and hung up. I have since learned that this behavior is typical of Jeff. In looking at this comment board, I see that I am not the only one to have been treated badly. Jeff, if you don't like people, get out of the business. Maybe you could be a telemarketer. I will never give any amount of business to a place that treats its customers not only badly, but with unbridled contempt. If I could give Sunrise negative stars, I would. Whoever fixed my bike did a terrible job I asked them to repair something simple and they couldn't even do that. When I brought it home I couldn't pedal my bike at all and they lost some parts to my bike too. They completely broke my bike I was completely sad and devastated I hope I don't have to buy a new bike but maybe I'll have to. My bike is like my car cause my rare disability prevents me from actually driving a car so my bike is my car. read more

These guys are what I would call a reference for cache valley. I mean, they sell quality, do the job right and are reliable. I got there a few times with what I though were minor things (adjusting the shifter, check bearings) and they have found much trickier stuff to diagnose (cone too loose, chain slightly too worn out, friction in the cable housing, etc.). Of course, they took the time to explain to me what would be necessary and answer to my questions. I also like the attention they give to details as they would notice slight corrections that could be done to make my posture much more comfortable. Check it out, it's worth it :). read more

They are the best hands down. Me and my dad went in. Just looking for my dad he is a big guy (6'4") and needed a new bike and Ian the store manger helped us the whole way. They didn't have my dads size of bike that he wanted so they sold him the brand new rental! And the deals were so good I ended up buying a bike as well.
