I am so aggravated I decided to go to Yelp. Not surprised to see all the low ratings. My dentist of 20 years retired and I was referred to Giuliani, so I didn't Yelp first. The short of it is they butchered my tooth. I had to keep going back for months. I went through all my insurance money for the year and still had to be seen by two doctors afterwards. They actually charge for using a credit card. Do you know how much that comes to on a dental bill? I heard people say they were going to the bank and coming back to pay cash while waiting. I got a bridge and was told it would not cost me as I was covered. I just got a letter stating I owe $500 because it was the third procedure done in 5 years. First time hearing that. Called and she said I'm sure I told you. Now I'm in the hole for $500. Not fair. read more

I went there today to get a filing. Sheila told me it was not covered. I called my insurance and the insurance told her it was. They even discussed the code and the insurance verified. Sheila told the insurance that they were wrong and told me that she will bill me and that I wasted my appointment time on the phone so I wouldn't be seen anyways. The insurance representative was on the phone and he filed a grievance for me. I was embarrassed by her yelling at me as if I was begging for services. Dr. Monica appologized on her behalf but that is because Dr. Monica is amazing. Sheila on the other needs a lot of work on better customers service and she should not represent this office. Rude, condescending and unprofessional. We are not done but I hope she gets fired. read more

I recently visited this dental practice for the first time and was very satisfied with Dr. Monica Giuliani and the dental hygienists my family and I saw. Jeanne and Margaret were absolutely phenomenal at their work and did a wonderful job making us feel welcome. Dr. Giuliani is a gem and really took her time explaining her findings as well as a plan of treatment for each of us. However, the front desk personnel could use a refresh on customer service skills as the woman up front with whom we interacted with during our visit does not reflect the professionalism that the rest of the staff exudes. Aside from that shortcoming, our visit was an overall great one and we're really happy with Dr. Guiluani and her team of hygienist. read more

You can think this is long-winded but I need to get this info out there to anyone considering this office. First off.....STAY AWAY FROM HERE IF POSSIBLE! This is the shadiest professional medical office I have ever been to in my life!!!! After coming to this office, my dental experience here with the dental assistants was beyond terrible. That extended into my experience with the dentist themselves. After it was done, I did not go back to complete what needed to be done, and instead, I went to R&R Dental. They did a great job and their staff was excellent. They did the work on the tooth that I did not have done at Sunrise. However, when R&R attempted to bill my insurance, it turned out that Sunrise charged me for the tooth. Figuring this was a billing issue, I called Sunrise to resolve this issue - that is when the real shitstorm began. After my insurance was billed for work that was never performed and when I attempted to resolve the situation, the billing office - "Sheila" - who is the Mother of the dentist, treated myself and my wife rudely and told me that they did in fact complete the work. Sheila said that we were lying to them and Sheila told the same to my insurance company who kept those statements from her in their notes. Knowing that this info was incorrect on their part and having no luck with "SHADY SHEILA" - I went to the office the next morning to ask for my medical information and notes. The Hispanic lady at the front desk then told me that I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE MY MEDICAL INFORMATION FROM THEM. I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ACCESS TO MY OWN MEDICAL INFORMATION. After arguing with her about this - The dentist Monica Giuliani came out and pulled me into another room. She admitted that she never performed the work and that I was entitled to my medical information. She said she would have it for me the following week. When I left I contacted my insurance to inform them of this information. I also told them that I had seen other reports and reviews online where other patients had reported the same thing. After reporting this info back to my insurance company, they told me they would report this to their investigations bureau. Funny - the next morning I received a call from Sheila - saying they were going to reimburse me for the out of pocket charges and report to the insurance that they had made a mistake. Reminder: this is two days after she rudely and angrily told me she was looking at the notes and the x-rays to me over the phone and had proof that the work was performed at the office and that I was in the wrong. When I spoke to Monica - I was told that I could pick up my medical information the following Tuesday - - When I spoke to Sheila the day before, we confirmed that I would come to their office and pick up my medical information and a check to reimburse me for the out of pocket charge on work that was never performed, You'd think this was over...WRONG!!!! When I went to pick up the info that Tuesday, they said they "MAILED IT" to me. Sheila denied ever speaking to me about this from the day before even after I said I had "RECORDED OUR PHONE CONVERSATION". Then Monica came out and said she told her staff to mail it to me so that I wouldn't come back into their office and cause a scene. She told me she would call the cops on me if I didn't leave - I told her I'm not leaving until I receive the money and medical information they promised me they would have on that day. Monica, Sheila nor the staff ever bothered contacting me to share with me this information - they all just expected for me to magically know this info. I told them I was tired of their lies and deception - I wanted the reimbursement check and the medical info now! Then, The front desk lady threatened me by saying "I will send my Husband after you." Five minutes later, both Sheila and Monica came stomping down the hall with my check and my info. I left - and I will never come back and I will Warn anyone of ever going to this office. They would probably lie about this and say this didn't happen but I phone recorded every visit and phone convo I had with these so called "Professionals" Again, other reviews exist online stating nearly the same info. You are warned! They only get one star because I cannot leave anything less. read more

..Do not go to this Dentist. They told my daughter they couldn't verify her insurance and her visit probably wasn't covered. Trying to get her to pay out of pocket....then they told her she needed root canal and that it was almost definitely not covered. She called her insurance and everything was covered. She then got the name of a new dentist who took her insurance because the receptionist Sheila was so mean and Condescending to my daughter she didn't want to go back. The new dentist was so nice as well as her office staff! Oh and she didn't even need a root canal! So this dentist has a nasty staff and her and her staff are a bunch of liars!! Beware!! read more

STAY AWAY!!! I can't even begin to explain how may times they said "no, your insurance isn't covering it" and I had to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for work I needed done. Well, I found out they didn't submit ANYTHING to the insurance since 2012!!! All this time they are telling me my insurance won't cover it... how would you know?! You didn't even submit it!!! I researched a dentist that took my coverage I came to this office last November I needed a bonding on one tooth. The day of the appointment they informed me my coverage didn't include bonding I departed and called my insurance carrier. They told me they did cover this. I had a 2nd appointment set. For mid March the following year. My coverage changed jan 1 I called to make sure they accept my new coverage. The Secretary confirmed they accepted my new coverage. They confirmed my appointment by text and email. I showed up and was told they don't take my coverage I can accept the fact they don't take the coverage but I can't accept the incompetence of the staff. read more

The worst dental group with the worst staff. Please don't come here if you have the option to go anywhere else. They will overcharge you and your insurance and try to give all their patients metal fillings. Composite fillings cost 150- 200$ and they only do a mediocre job. Called to make an apt for my 91 year old mom to have a new denture made. Was told it was 150.00 for the doctor to examine/x-ray . I explained she has no teeth what is he going to examine and x-ray.?? Went there to fix a tooth that was chipped. Original problem occurred many years ago, just needed a bonding. Previous two times I got it done at different dental offices the bond lasted five years. Went here when the bonding came out and their repair lasted TWO WEEKS. Even worse, they said the procedure was not covered by insurance, when a different dentist I went to after to get the chip repaired had no problem submitting through insurance. Went to see the dentist last week, they urged me to get a cavity filled and they botched me!! Was in horrible pain for 4 days straight, went to another dentist and they said Sunrise Dental had bonded two of my molars together and that's why I couldn't bite down properly nor floss between those two molars. HORRIBLE experience. P.s.- to anyone who handles billings questions with Sheila....she's the dentist's mother, so naturally she'll do anything and everything in her power to make sure her daughter doesn't look like the bad guy. read more

This place is just a scam. I take very good care of my teeth and only have 3 cavities. They said that one of my fillings was cracked and it was breaking apart the tooth so that I would need to scrape out the old filling, put white filling in and then if that doesn't work, I would need to get a root canal. I went and got a second opinion at my parent's dentist whom I trust very much but at the time she didn't take my insurance. She told me that the white filling bonds differently and doesn't work well on molars. She said that if I got the white filling put in, I would automatically feel pain and need a root canal. These people try to make a quick buck by ruining your teeth since insurance companies don't pay much for a procedure. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

The dentists have made so many mistakes. They try to charge you for things insurance will cover and I was overcharged for root canals that failed anyway. I personally don't recommend. The dentists are nice but rush and don't seem to do things right. The office manager is nasty!!! read more

I went here with tooth pain. Dr. Manisha Suri had exrays done. She spoke to me with a condescending attitude and informed me that I needed seven teeth pulled, six root canals and had a cavity in every tooth. I left the office with a referral to an oral surgeon for the teeth to be pulled and a "plan of action" decided by her, that would end up costing me $15,000! Even with insurance. I was depressed and in tears. Thank god I went to Front Street Dental on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow for a second opinion. All I need to have done is two root canals! This place is not clean, not modern, and Dr. Suri was awful. I recommend everyone to stay away. read more

The hygienist and dentist were very friendly and helpful. The two front desk staff was VERY RUDE and not helpful at all. I asked one of the women about the two forms she gave me to sign. She said, "it's nothing. just sign it." This didn't make any sense, so I started reading the form, and she kept rushing me to sign it. She then told me that it would take six weeks for authorization from my insurance carrier for procedures. This is a very long time to wait for procedures, so I called my insurance carrier on the spot to inquire, and was told it would only take 3 business days. When I told the woman this, she raised her voice and told me, "I don't know who told you that, I don't know who told you that." I explained that I had my insurance carrier on the line, if she would like to get on the phone to confirm. She did not want to do that. I asked one of the other women where the specialist I was being referred to was located. I asked, "where in Garden City is it, how far is it from here?" She answered, "it's in Garden City."
