We only got $30 out of the $125 they charge for a massage. We only got $3 out of the $20 add on clients pay for Deep Tissue and $1 for doing cupping, hot stones, Gua sha, and pregnancy massage. We were made to sit there in the spa without getting any compensation if we didn't have an appt. The owner is more into opening new locations in Durham and Charlotte vs getting The Now in Cary successfully running. She makes a ton of money off us as massage therapists but I always felt while working there that it was about the bottom dollar not making sure we as massage therapists had what we needed to do our job or that we were taken care of as employees. The owner/management has written in their policy that they will reimburse $100 for continuing education massage classes in which I paid $420 for. I worked for this location for 1 yr and 7 months and received no other benefits/perks. I handed in my receipt for reimbursement and the owner refused to pay it. I told her I would write a review of what my time was like working at The Now if she didn't. My last pay check came in today and she chose not to include the $100. Do not put something in your policy, that you are not going to stand behind! I have been a massage therapist for 20 years. You do not lose good massage therapists if you treat them well!
