Sam and Ray are great guys who get to know all of their customers, and who consistently stock the best selection of craft beers in Austin. In particular, if there's a brand that you love, check them out because they may well have bottles that are sold out elsewhere. The only question is when and in which direction do they expand, would not be surprised if they added taps of choice beers sooner than not. As it stands, there is no wasted shelf space in this place, and they also provide handy shopping baskets, a practice that many bottle shops fail to address. read more

The first sign that this gas station/convenience store was unique was the scene in the parking lot. It was like people showed up for gas and a pack of gum, but didn't make it out again. I don't think I've ever spent 20 minutes in a store on such a trip. The owner and employees are delightful. The beer and wine selection is broad with a considerable number of truly rare and interesting choices. It's the low key beer and wine tastings that keep people in the store. They also do a lot of seasonal beers too; combine that with the staff and you have a great combo. This place is like Cheers, but a convenience store, they know your name, your wife's name, will ask about your dog, more importantly what you like to drink and as Chris S mentioned might even hold a little something back for the folks that are in here day in and day out. Glad I'm not "normal". Think they realize that us not normal folks spend a good amount of $$ here all the time and might deserve a little love. Besides the wonderful and extensive beer selection they have a lot of other things. Went in to pickup chips thinking I'd just get whatever potato chips. Well, they had probably ever kind of Kettle Brand available including Sircacha and Maple/Bacon flavored plus a bunch of other brands.
