The Maud Service was Great, was a Lady and a Man, they were very nice and ask if we needed anything, so I really liked them. The Owner was very nice, very helpful, and friendly. But there was just one person who figured that if He was there for 6 months had the right to tell us where we could or could not park. Such an Drunken Idiot, walked out at night time in His underwater. Then one night He was so drunk could hardly walk, and decided to drive a His Truck and so He went forward, then He decided to back up and hit the car of a Man that worked with my Husband. So He got mad for me telling on Him. So I was asked if I wanted to go across the street to the other rooms the owner had, I said no cause it was more over there. So He went there. But He called the Cops on our Friends and they weren't going to do anything about Him hitting their Car except wanted an Apology, but He got belligerent and so the Cops threatens to take Him to jail, so besides Hum the Drunken Idiot, it was nice there. If we stop there on our way through, I don't want to be where He is at all. Very Rude, a Drunk, and Bossy!!!

The shower was great: clean, the drain was clear, and the water actually stayed in the shower and drained down the drain. I called to reserve the site and was told that there would be a packet in the check-in box with an envelope for me to put cash payment in, since I would be arriving after hours. The packet was where I was told it would be, and the camp hosts came by to make sure I found it, they were very nice. The interstate is noisy, so be aware of that.

It's half way for us. First site was cramped, as there was a tree in the way and I couldn't back up far enough for our electric and sewer to hook up. Had to go back to the office to move a spot over. Not a big deal. We arrived at 5:30 pm. After set up, my girls walked to the pool that was supposed to be open till 8 pm. Well. They closed open swimming at 6 pm for lessons. Disappointing. I confirmed my reservation for Sunday night, July 3rd. When we arrived on Sunday, the office wasn't staffed. My reservation was no where to be found and had no clue what site I was at. We took an open site that was electric only. They only accept checks when the office is closed. So bring a check book. We don't carry checks. We decided to stay anyway. Once we set up, we walked to the steakhouse, which was closed. Website said it would be open, so we didn't stop to eat in Sioux City. . So we went to subway. Nice staff, and the place was super clean. Our experience wasn't as nice as it should have been. But the stay was ok. People around the site were obviously no stranger to the park. When everything gets quiet and you have a 100 set of eyes on you, it's a little uncomfortable. I smiled and waved with no responses. Just weird. We couldn't wait to leave. This was our first and second time, but probably won't be back.

When I say clean, I would sleep on the floor. It was wonderful to stretch my legs after a long driving commute and grab some reading material from the visitor center. Thank you!

There are really no bells or whistles at this campground, however they have a very nice park with a…read morenice shaded walking path. This campground had WiFi which was pretty good. They have a nice play area for kids (see pictures), and a walking path way. We actually stayed here 2 different dates. They have beautiful and huge widow maker trees which offered a lot of shade. Pull through sites with full hook up or just electric and water. They do have a dump station that is on the wrong side of the campground. You have exit out of the campground then make this sharp turn in order to use it. Both times we stayed here were very peaceful and quiet. You must go to the park when the sun is setting. You will get beautiful pictures (please see photos). The first time we stayed at site 8 and then site 9 on the second time. This campground is very reasonably priced at $30 a night. It is a perfect place to pull in and get some sleep then to leave the next day back on the road. The town is really cute and small. For a fast dinner or meal, try Pizza Ranch out. So I have wanted to do a party here for years as my littles absolutely love inflatables and I have…read moreheard so may good reviews and recommendations at that time but then covid hit and it just hasn't worked out for us. Well this past week was my neices first birthday and we had the party set to take place here as it would be a great place for the kiddos to play out of the heat, everyone get a full belly and great spot for us all to get together. We had the 11 to 1 spot(the very first spot) well you would of thought this was their first time ever having a birthday party here, no one knew what we needed, we had to walk back and forth several times between the pizza ranch side and county fair side to figure out where to pay/get wrist bands and arcade cards(through the party package arranged) by time we were able to get in and get started we were already a good 15 to 20 min past our start time, but no big deal. (Mind you the party room was less than desirable with dirty floors, a bucket with water which appeared to have been due to a leaking ceiling at some point, and not a lot of room. The bounce area and arcade were also a big let down with many games not working, giant puddles of water from what appeared to be another leak in the bouncy area and just overall not clean) We let the kids bounce since we knew we were on a 2 hour time limit while we started eating lunch. The kids had a chance to eat but were antsy to play the arcade like kids are so we let them take a break to play for a bit before coming back to finish lunch and have cake while watching the presents being opened. We only played for a little while as each child only had 24 tokens(most games cost 3 or 4, some only lasting maybe a min to play) my sister cane to me saying the guy told her we needed to be out by 12:50 because there was a party after us. We were taken back because we were not informed of this when booking, especially since we didn't even get to start on time but fine, we will hurry up the kids and get back to the room. Next thing I know (as I have just convinced the kids to go get cake and ice cream) my sister came to me saying they had been kicked out of the room (mind you it's only like 12 30 or so at this point) the next party had shown and they decided we needed to leave. Our kiddos couldn't even finish their party. I have no clue why this party took precedence, maybe theyvare to blame as well in ruining my neices very first birthday as well, but the facility shoukd of handled it 1000 times better than what yhey did. This experience was beyond disappointing. I had hoped to have my sons birthday party there in August as I was so excited to finally get to take my kids here, but we definitely will not waste the time or money. I highly recommend going anywhere else.

Okay, so I have to say I was very unsure of this place before we got there. Because there is…read moreliterally nothing for miles, and then suddenly you're in a small town that doesn't seem like it would have a camping spot. But then you hang a corner and boom, adorable campground by a scenic river with lots of open space and a pretty nice shower house. We only stayed one night, and there are two solid reasons I'm not going for five stars: 1. The owner was not there when we arrived, everything was locked up, and for a moment we were at a loss. We decided to just pick a spot since there were only two other campers on site, and if we were wrong then we'd happily move. It turns out the owner was on vacation, and another one of the campers was there to manage while she was out. We found this out when one of their kids was wandering around saying hi and petting the pups and told us all about his cool week of camping. It wasn't a huge deal, but it wouldn't been comforting to get an email or a phone call, or even have it left on the voicemail (we tried to call several times and there was no voicemail set up). 2. The wild life around the area takes shifts, so there is constant noise going around the clock. From my memory while trying to catch some zz's, it begins with dogs barking until dark, then the owls take over, followed by coyotes (or some sort of group howling animal), then around 4am the cows take over for moo-fest, followed by the roosters at daybreak. This probably doesn't bother those sleeping in campers, but the tent walls are paper thin (see what I did there?). Would I stay here again? That's a solid maybe. It is quite out of the way, the nearest grocery store/gas station/sign of life is at least 10 miles/20 minutes away, so be sure to come completely prepared. It is as bad as I was fearing when we pulled up? Not at all. Color me pleasantly surprised.

It may just be the time of the summer that I visited, but overall I have to rate my stay as just…read moreokay. It seems to be a long term summer hang out spot for some locals and you can hear cussing and yelling from people drinking late into the night, like after two am. However, if you're looking for a place where you can have fun without strict rules, this would be the place. As a newcomer, some people were friendly and some were not, but I won't go further in explaining that. The river is pretty, although it's not anywhere near full right now because of drought, so the kayaking is somewhat limited. As I said though, it was a really pretty site to camp on. They have a couple of private shower rooms that are nice. For a one night stay it's okay, especially as a lot of other campsites that are in a less isolated area seem to fill up more quickly. The nearest grocery store is 11 miles away, so I would plan out food before you go into camp. Dell Rapids has a great coffee shop called Ladelle and Fourth Coffeehouse (if you need wifi or to get out) that is fifteen minutes away, which I was surprised to find.
