Her foot, but the both look like this and worst

The cares sucks, I know for a fact that my Mother's friend is there, and prison would be more humane than this facility Sunrise. She looks awful legs and feet swollen, she's almost blind now due to the staff not putting her eye drops in her eyes daily. If you love your Parent(s) never use Sunrise of Carmichael, they regret it, and so will you. There are a few caring members of the staff, but that's it!! Unfortunately they aren't helping my Mother's friend. Those are her pictures posted.

I decided to pay a visit to a friend of mine that has been in this facility. I was appalled to see some pictures of her legs and the condition that they are in prior to my visit. So I decided to go in person to see. The outside of this facility and the downstairs look very lovely but once going upstairs it's almost like it's a lockdown. You need someone to enter a code to let you in and out .Once in, we knocked on our friend's door and it's locked from the outside so she basically was locked in her room. One of the staff members opened her door for us .The whole second floor smelled like urine. We were able to visit with our friend but we had to keep the door open to visit with her per a staff member there who was not too friendly. The heat was on in her room on 70. The temperature in her room was 85. When it's a lovely summer day outside, there's no reason for a heater to be on. Unbelievable ! I don't think the staff is caring for this individual very well because of the condition of her lower extremities. Why isn't a physician called for her? What is preventing care for her? It's obviously the staff doesn't care. It almost looks like some sort of elder abuse.

Care of patients, all of them! Not bathing, not changing clothes for five days! Neglect and abuse.

From the moment my grandma moved into Oakmont of Carmichael, we knew she was exactly where she needed to be. Lindy, who oversees the facility, is truly exceptional. She is kind, compassionate, accommodating, and genuinely cares about both the residents and their families. During every interaction, she made us feel heard, supported, and valued. Her leadership is reflected in the culture of the entire community. What stood out most to me was the staff in Memory Care. Every single person went above and beyond for my grandma. They were attentive, patient, loving, and treated her with dignity and respect. It never felt like they were simply doing a job--it felt like they truly cared about her as a person. As a family member who spent a great deal of time at the facility, I had the opportunity to get to know many of the caregivers, staff members, residents, and families. The warmth and genuine kindness I witnessed every day was something special. My grandma loved living there. There were always thoughtful activities to bring joy to the residents, from fun events like Mocktail Mondays to musical guests and entertainment throughout the week. The staff work hard to create meaningful moments and a sense of community for everyone who lives there. As my grandma's health declined, the care and compassion shown to her never wavered. Knowing that she spent her final days surrounded by people who genuinely cared about her brings our family an incredible amount of comfort. We will never forget the kindness, patience, and love that was shown to her during that time. To everyone at Oakmont of Carmichael: thank you. Thank you for caring for my grandma, for treating her with dignity, for supporting our family, and for making a difficult chapter of life a little easier. You made a difference in her life and in ours. She loved it there, and we will always be grateful that she called Oakmont home.

This was the third place she had lived in during 2025 and we've finally found a place that we all like! I'm super impressed by the professionalism of the entire staff. The Executive Director, Lyndee, is amazing - friendly & energetic and is always available to answer questions, address concerns, hold an family meeting, or just catch up. All of the front desk staff are always smiling and it's cute how they automatically open the front door for you when they see you about to walk in. The staff in Traditions is on top of it... they check in on mom frequently and encourage her to get out of her apartment and participate in activities. When she declines, they'll visit with her a bit in her apartment to make sure she's doing ok. Linda, Gilda and Erick are standouts that my mom really, really likes (that's saying a lot, too!) They've called me a couple times when mom refuses to take her meds (usually she's confused and thinks she's already taken them) or if she's upset and crying. Since I'm so close by, I can pop over there to help her out and keep her company. I'm so glad mom moved to Oakmont Carmichael and it has relieved a lot of our stress to know that she is so-well cared for!

My mother passed away over a year ago and I am just now getting to posting about the experience we had. I couldn't bring myself to do it until now. I will never forget our experience. We could not have found anywhere better. I cannot speak highly enough of this facility. We were treated like family and my mother passed away peacefully after her short stay. I had my parents in a memory care facility in Lincoln for the last 4 years, dad passed the previous October and mom needed more personalized care. Eastern Manor was the first place I toured out of 4 other facilities. EM was the perfect place for mom. Maria and Emma are angels, between them and their staff, they took the best care of mom during her stay. Every time I went to see mom, she looked great, the facility was clean and all the other residents seemed to be receiving great care. Thank you Maria and Emma for taking care of our mom.

After my sister complaining about things my mother was doing while living with her I decided to look for a little apartment for her to live on her own. After spend a few days with my mother it was clear that there was no way that she could live on her own ever again. This was right in the heart of Covid so I had to scramble to find a memory care facility that I could place her in as I live in Oregon and she wasn't willing to move from Sacramento. A friend told me about Eastern Manor as her friends mother had lived there in the past. They accepted my mother and after her living there for two years I would come visit her every month and take her out for a drive and spread her wings. Her room was always clean and tidy as was the whole facility. The staff was always friendly and caring. Never ever had one problem during her two year stay. It's a wonderful environment and the grounds are so beautiful and tropical. I could only hope for such care if I ever get in a situation that I need that level of care. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.
