This was the WORST care and treatment I have ever had with a business let alone a Dental Office…read more Chose this Office because it was in town and wanted someone close and a local business. WRONG!!!! Ended up in Elk Grove for a root canal and another work needed. Ended up continuing to travel to Elk Grove because Doctor does not come to Dixon ( was not aware I would have to continueto go there). Root canal had issues starting with the so called temp crowns used that come off because not enough material is used. Went back for temp replacement 2x on the same tooth, and canal was exposed for a week. Yes, they knew. Complained days later after the root canal that i was still feeling pain in the tooth that had the root canal and that's when the run around began. I did go back to see a different dr to check on the pain I was still having and prescribed antibiotics. Took them, still sensitivity in the tooth. Took x-ray seen infection and prescribed more antibiotics and then tried to charge me for the x-ray to check on the problem tooth. Then rescheduled again for the Elk Grove office. I ended up going to Elk Grove appointments at least 3x/4x just to be told would have to see Dr again. They kept giving me appointments that I went to , but I never seen the dentist after the original root canal. They (Office manager and reception would schedule appointments and cancel appointments and never tried to fix the issue, just wasted my time and gas. All I wanted was to fix the tooth so I had no more pain. This run around went on for months. This Dr. refused to treat the problem and just referred to someone else. I had paid my portion of the bill as well as the insurance had paid. This cost me 2k out of pocket and they still left me in pain and still needing further treatment and costing me more out of pocket money. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUSINESS. I have a high gag reflex, and their office have been accommodating and patient, giving me numbing liquid to swish and trying x-rays multiple times until the pictures come fine. The doctor and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. After doing a filling, I never thought about that tooth any more, which means a good treatment! I really like their spacious and quiet office too. The previous office I used to go was crowded with patients and it was so hard to reschedule an appointment. I have been pleased with the flexibility of any rescheduling needed and the service. I highly recommend Dr. Afkham's office if you look for convenience and expertise.

So, HE ASSAULTED ME AND THEN CHEATED TO THE POLICE. I visited the clinic for an exam regarding wisdom tooth extraction March 27th. Based on prior communication, I was under the impression that the visit was a preparatory step for the extraction. However, I was informed during the visit that the extraction could not be performed there and was referred elsewhere. A misunderstanding arose from the clinic's initial communication, which I believed to be misleading. Upon addressing this with the front desk, a disagreement ensued. Dr. Afham intervened, and the situation escalated. Dr. Afham forcefully instructed me to leave, resulting in him physically grabbing my arm and pushing me all the way out of the office, causing my phone to fall and further adding to my distress. I immediately contacted the police to report the incident. However, Dr. Afham provided a conflicting account, stating he merely "opened the door" for me, which led to the police being unable to take further action. This experience was not only humiliating but raised serious concerns about the professional conduct at Davis Smile Center. It is particularly disheartening given my history as a loyal patient over the past three years. I am considering filing grievances with relevant professional and regulatory bodies, including the Delta Dental Program, the Dental Board of California, and the Better Business Bureau, to seek redress and ensure such conduct is appropriately addressed. I appreciate any help that could help to resolve this issue satisfactorily. We went into the appointment with him not knowing what to expect at all and he was visibly anxious. Dr French looked at him from the doorway and asked to speak to me "mom" outside not even bothering to learn my or my sons name. She told me in the hallway that "she's been doing this a long time and she can tell me right now with how upset he is, the three teeth extraction is not going to happen today." I asked her to go speak to him and tell him what to expect and give him the chance to calm down a bit. She did not answer his questions at all, he kept asking if it was going to hurt and she wouldn't say yes or no just that once she started she couldn't stop and he would feel pressure. He said he wanted it done that day and she said it wasnt his decision, it was hers and his moms. Then she didnt ask me my opinion just told us it wasn't happening. Horrible experience at a pediatric dentistry. It's like they don't understand kids and wouldn't talk to him as a person. Our longtime dentist retired and the next office I tried, Vacaville Dental Group, randomly stopped taking our insurance after onboarding all four of my kids. Instead of being upfront, they tried to charge us and kept saying they were "working on getting back in network." Weeks turned into months, my daughter needed a checkup, and the front desk response from a lady when I called was... let's just say, less than warm. Immediate nope. Cue Kids Care Dental, aka, why didn't we come here sooner?! This place is clearly designed for kids and parents who value sanity. TVs on the ceiling, sunglasses, headphones, and a calm, welcoming vibe that immediately lowers your blood pressure. The dentist is one of the kindest, most patient humans, she genuinely loves working with kids, and it shows. Every staff member was wonderful. While I was there, another little patient had a hard time leaving a toy behind, and an employee simply let him keep it. Meltdown avoided, mom relieved, kid ecstatic. Honestly, I almost asked if I could have a toy too The only small hiccup: calling initially routes to a call center, not the clinic, which made asking questions a bit annoying. But they texted me the paperwork the day of the appointment, I filled it out before we arrived, and they told me I can text the clinic directly going forward. Problem solved. I'm officially switching all of my kids to Kids Care Dental, and I wish I had done it sooner. 10/10 recommend. Your kids, and your blood pressure will thank you.

I noticed the last couple of times the office is super dirty. Our appointments are usually always at 830am and they open at 8am. Tell me why the bathroom is always super dirty looks like they don't clean it. Floors, chairs, windows in the waiting area and where they take patients back we're absolutely gross! You can tell they have not cleaned the facility in months. Also the billing department absolutely sucks! I got a text message stating that I owed $1,106 for dental care when my kids appointment wasn't till the following week. I called right away and the billing department told me it was a glitch in their system. They said I owed $40 for a filling my son got a year prior and I was just getting billed for. It was so frustrating. I will definitely not be going back.
