He also installed new MDF for the stair risers (not painted yet in photo since they don't handle painting). Floor has no creaks in the rooms/hallway and looks beautiful. Pricing was fair and the best I could find in the area, and they were good about removing the costs for anything I handled myself (I removed old carpet and LVP, etc.) even though there were a handful of staples I wasn't able to pull myself from the stair risers. Just one word of warning, make sure you measure your floor space yourself--their measurements for the work were off by about 50 square feet, which would have made a big difference in the number of boxes of material I had to purchase. I think this was probably accidental from them including the bathrooms but given that _every_ floorer I spoke to provided inaccurate estimates it's best to just do the measuring/math yourself.

As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

We purchased our home from the previous owners, who had these floors installed by Simply Floors…read moreabout five years ago. Unfortunately, they are already falling apart throughout the house. Whether it's due to poor installation, poor-quality materials, or both, the flooring has not held up as it should for such a significant investment. Given the amount the previous owners paid, this level of durability is extremely disappointing. We now have to replace the floors much sooner than anyone should reasonably expect. We will be using a company that stands behind its workmanship and products with a warranty and quality that extends well beyond five years. Based on the condition of these floors after only five years, I would not recommend Simply Floors. A few photos below but it's all over the main floor you can tell they were not installed properly as they are all popping up. And yes I know the warranty was not transferable I just wanted to post so others know the quality to expect before making such a large investment!

I would not recommend this company…read more I chose them because the scope I discussed with the account manager included replacing my flooring and installing a new vanity I had already purchased. I verbally confirmed that scope with the account manager and paid an invoice that included a line item for that portion of the work. Despite that, the installer arrived without all of the necessary materials and informed me he was not comfortable installing the vanity. To be clear, I have no issue with the installer declining work he wasn't comfortable performing. What I do have an issue with is being told afterward that vanity installation was never included, despite it being discussed with the account manager and being a major reason I selected this company over other bids. The installer himself encouraged me to request a refund for that portion of the project, but the company only provided a partial refund ($180). As a result, I am left with an unfinished project, a sink currently being held up by a 2x4, and the need to hire a second contractor to complete the work. What should have been a straightforward bathroom update has turned into a major headache. By the time the project is finally finished, I will have spent significantly more than the original quote, despite choosing this company because I believed they would handle the full scope of work from start to finish.

1 Star - Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more I've worked with many contractors across multiple homes and offices, and this was by far the worst experience I've had. From start to finish there were major disconnects in communication. Expectations were not aligned, follow-through was inconsistent, and the quality of work did not meet professional standards. When I raised concerns about the workmanship and lack of accountability, instead of addressing the issues, the owner called me in an irate and confrontational manner. Rather than taking responsibility, he attempted to frame my concerns as a "threat" because I mentioned I would leave an honest public review and consider contacting the BBB and the licensing board. At no point did I threaten anything beyond sharing factual information about my experience. I simply expected the work to be done correctly and professionally. Unfortunately, this company did not stand behind their work, and the response to legitimate concerns was defensive and unprofessional. I would strongly recommend getting everything in writing and thoroughly vetting. Better yet, save your money & peace of mind. Use the other guy!!!

Had South Paw out to quote for two projects: a backsplash in the kitchen and engineered hardwood…read morethroughout the great room. The quote process and scheduling were relatively easy. Backsplash project was first-- Enrique and Jose did such a fabulous job. They showed up on time, listened to our requests, and did a stunning job. The flooring project was a disaster. Jose (a different Jose) showed up almost an hour late thinking he was installing LVP (despite the quote, the South Paw-provided materials list, and proof of purchase all stating Engineered Hardwood) and then acted like we somehow pulled the rug out from under him and told us we would need to pay more. I showed him the paid quote that said Engineered Hardwood. He looked at the materials we got (that they requested we get) and told us it wasn't right and he couldn't do it. Our condo requires a floating installation with soundproof underlayment. We talked to Miguel during the quote process, worked with Floor and Decor to ensure we got the correct materials, and worked with our HOA to make sure the underlayment was all correct. Despite three people all pointing us in this one very clear direction (and us having done this project before), Jose was telling us it was impossible to install a floating floor. A new guy (Russian guy?) came out to assess. It's now two hours past when we were supposed to begin what I thought was an easy floor installation. He starts telling us this flooring isn't for a floating installation. So I pull out the instructions from the box which shows a floating installation and ask "why does it say it's appropriate for floating?" He then says something about how "No one wants to take responsibility for it when it fails." Which made no sense because the flooring has a warranty and instructions for how to do it correctly? He offered no further input. He and Jose left to pick up glue. I never saw him again. Anyway, we had ZERO confidence that this was going to be done correctly or that they had any idea what they were doing. We've had floating hardwood installed twice before and it seemed super straight forward-- put down underlayment, lay down floor, glue the tongue and groove and tap them into place. Boom. Done. The manufacturer warrantied the floating flooring. There's like 3 ways to install flooring and this is one of them AND we were clear about it during the quote process, so it was wildly confusing why South Paw was now acting like this was a curve ball. During the initial overview, I also said I wanted to pull out a few pieces of the wood that had odd variations because the wood pattern on a few pieces looked like water damage (it wasn't, it was just a strange pattern). Jose seemed confused, but said he understood. Once he started laying the floors, he laid the pieces I said DO NOT INSTALL. Luckily I popped in when he was only 3 boards in so I could say, "ah wait!" And have the WHOLE conversation over again. Jose was, again, argumentative and acted extremely put out. Another guy on the team helped me sort the wood into piles so that we could show Jose that there would be plenty of material (we bought 20% more than we needed... there was wiggle room to pull out some ugly boards.) There wasn't a single interaction with Jose that wasn't combative or where I wasn't just fully ignored. After the flooring was installed, they put up new baseboards around both the new hardwood and also where it transitions into old tile. The whole project looks amateur. Flooring has H joins (despite me asking three times to make sure to stagger all the wood to avoid that) as well as gaps where they didnt fully tap the tongue into the groove. Transition pieces are bouncy and not fully glued down. Baseboards are wonky and poorly cut. The whole thing was SO expensive for such a bad experience and a bad result. For a company called South Paw Floors, it's ironic how that was the worse part of the project.

This is a follow-up to previous entries regarding the deteriorating (extra expensive) carpet I got…read morein November 2025. After connecting with Simply Floors early 2026 because of the shredding carpet and after a couple of inspections and coordination with the manufacturer of the carpet, I now have the replacement installed (June 1, 2026). The installation was a good process this time and the carpet will most likely hold up very well. Good installation, done within a reasonable time frame and confirmation of details beforehand was achieved. Would have given 5 stars if this was how it went in the beginning. Although I wouldn't recommend one company over another, I would recommend solid communication with all involved, especially with the install crew and company together so everyone is on the same page from the beginning and not just futile lip service. Follow-up inquiries are also important. Would I work with this company again---probably, since they came through with corrections.
