And the owner, Joan, is an amazingly sweet and kind woman who knows her stuff about swimming. We initially booked on a Wednesday, and my son was the only person signed up. Joan called me personally and explained the situation. She was very apologetic and accommodating. She even discussed my son's development and agreed to move him up a level. They are flexible and happy to make adjustments if your kid ends up in the wrong class. My child had Colin as an instructor, and he absolutely adores him. He cannot wait to go back. This is an adorable place to teach your child water safety and get them swimming. I have no doubt we made the right choice by enrolling our son!

He went from never swimming, to going across the pool with strong kicks and pulls, and diving down to get toys in 8 lessons. There were days when he was afraid of the water and days when he was not and Mollie just goes with the flow. She is happy, calm, patient, and makes the kids feel secure. She's incredible. She also worked with my 7 year old and helped him feel more confident in his swimming ability. I've had my boys in swim lessons at different places for years... Miracle Swimming offers great swim lessons for adults!…read more If you have had a hard time learning to swim for any reason and you're an adult, this is the swim class for you. Some of the students are very afraid of water and some not so much. The class size is small allowing for lots of time with the instructor and lots of practice time. The teachers are super experienced and very patient as well as super nice. The Berkeley pool is WARM! You won't freeze in there - perfect for beginning swimming. The Berkeley classes come with practice sessions for the 8 weeks following class, so you can practice in a nice, warm pool with other students. I have taken 3 of their courses, and I very much recommend them! I took the Beginning and Next Step classes in Berkeley with Richard (a great teacher!) and Ocean 101 in Sarasota, FL with Melon (founder of this school). Sarasota has the #1 beach in the US - look it up! Miracle Swimming has classes all over the country. IT'S TOTALLY GREAT! I had the best time and it was well worth the money to me. If you are at all interested, don't be shy about contacting Miracle Swimming with your questions or maybe buy their book first.

We could only fit in a few lessons but it was defiantly helpful and we learned a lot. She was great with our kid who was 3.5 at the time. She brought some fun activities to help teach with and it was overall a very positive experience. Our 4 year old in particular made great progress to the point where he can jump in without a floatie, and swim across the pool without it as well.
