First time I went tanning here, I was sixteen. Fifteen years later, Sun Sational is every bit as clean, the bulbs, beds, and booths every bit as updated, and the staff is every bit as nice as they were back in the nineties. I know, hard to believe that something that was around in the nineties is still around (thanks, Wal-Mart), but it's true. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to be their customer (or is that my bronzer?), as it is a family business and the owners do everything they can to offer a quality experience to their customers. As I can't do the beds because it makes me feel like I am gonna fall through the glass and singe my body on the bulbs (hey, we all have our phobias!), I am much more of a stand-up booth kinda girl (plus, it means I can dance along to the piped-in pop music!). They have many levels of updated booths, and are constantly updating their offerings of booths and beds so customers can go from Queen Elizabeth to George Hamilton in no time with Sun Sational. They also offer spray tanning (which I've heard GREAT things about), leg and face tanning machines, and huge selection of tanning lotions. Also, they are open seven days a week. Go and see Bob. never been into a salon where an old woman was hostile over a yelp I left to a salon, where i had an AWFUL experience 2 weeks ago, next door to them because i had spoken to them the day of my experience because i was confused on the great reviews the next door business had. She flat out told me "you wrote on your yelp that we called them unprofessional." which is a complete LIE. I tried to explain to her that i never wrote that cause i remembered what i wrote...her response? "I read the yelp" well NEWSFLASH.... I WROTE IT. here is the sentence of my yelp review to the hair salon next door... "Had to speak with the tanning salon next door, and they confirm that the hours change frequently and the owner just comes in for appointments and leaves whenever" WHERE DOES IT SAY THEY CALLED THE HAIR SALON UNPROFESSIONAL? the fact that she was really going back and fourth with me over a yelp that is not even their business is baffling. Their upset because they shared true information to a customer that USED it warns others???? whatever.... definitely will NEVER be back. The lady working there was so friendly and informative and helped me pick the correct level tanning booth to reach the desired results! I've been coming here for about 3 years now. I'm a seasonal tanner, so I come every March and tan weekly until Memorial Day when the real sun can take over. I had been searching for a good tanning place that wasn't going to cost half my paycheck for a package and this place is it. Bob and the entire staff are so friendly, that's just not something I had ever found at another salon. This place is a real family business, they treat their customers with respect and kindness and keep the salon and booths spotless. I love how there's no "time limit" on how long it takes you to undress/lotion up, etc, which is something I've seen at tons of other salons. I have yet to find another tanning salon that meets my expectations like SunSational does! My first tanning experience was here and I always come back. Always so clean. Extra friendly staff. Updated machines. VersaSpa better coverage/results than other VersaSpa's I have used (I assume SunSationals is more clean!!) I came back to sunsational to get a tan before a special occasional and hadn't tanned a a few years. The staff here are so welcoming, they took time to help me find a package that works best for me and even gave me a deal that had technically ended the day before (I came in on the first of the month and they gave me last months special). They were very attentive and gave me a refresher on all the controls for the bed and radio since it had been a while. Love this place, will always return here when I need a tan! read more

This place is wonderful. Everything is so clean and the staff (likely family run?) is very friendly and welcoming. I'm not one that goes tanning a lot, and I've never felt treated less because of that. They take the time to explain every last detail to you and make you feel comfortable. Checked them out for the first time yesterday. Got a great deal on lotion and signed up for a very reasonable package, one of many offered. Looking forward to using the VersaSpa sunless tanning system- I did my research and prefer this method to some of the others out there. This is the best place I have tanned and I have tried a few different place. The equipment is always clean and up to date on bulb changes. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable on all their equipment and any questions you may have. I love this tanning salon and I've tried them all. It takes me about 1/2 the time to tan here as in the other salons I've used. If it normally took me 6 times, it would take me 3 or 4 here. That's because they change the bulbs frequently; that's a huge deal. I don't want to waste my time or money. The place is spotless. I am normally one to stay away from tanning salons but I decided to go tanning before my wedding and honeymoon. SunSational Tanning and the women who worked there took such great care of me when I walked in, timid and nervous to get back into a tanning bed. They take eye care and skin care seriously and spent time talking through my options with me. When I phoned them to complain and warn them that there might be something wrong with the bed I was told it was my fault because it was my first time this season. I've been using this bed for years and never had a problem. No refund. Will never go back. read more

Not really sure what i paid $35 for for the spray tan. The only thing that got any real color were the bottom of my feet and they were supposed to be protected by the lotion. And my hands are spotty and uneven. Won't be returning. Will be going back to the other spot down the road which i wasn't 100% on when i first went in April. I am new to the area & after having previously worked at a tanning salon for five years I was very picky about the next place I'd tan. The customer service is wonderful, bob is so nice. Not only is this place clean but he has top of the line tanning equipment and great specials. A lot of other places aren't as clean and it's noticeable. This place is spic and span!! Very disappointed with the services provided buy them. My daughter has gone there before and for the most part the spay tan came out good. He would get blotchy only when it was wearing off. Well my daughter is 16 and has her first prom tomorrow night. She was very excited until now. She went last night and bought the monthly membership because she has other proms and was going to use them. She paid 35 for the month and is now out the money and the tan is humiliating. Her legs are white her arms are so blotchy it almost looks like the sprayer was empty. Chest same thing and her face looks like a pumpkin. I called and spoke to a man and he was quite rude and arrogant. He blamed it on my daughter and said she must have used lotion on her skin. She absolutely did NOT like I said she has had them before from There. She was a loyal customer. So I asked to talk to the manager and he said I was talking to the owner and he was not going to do anything. He wasn't going to fix it he wasn't going to refund her. She is only 16 so 35 is a lot for someone who only works at honey dew two nights a week. I told the owner I was going to write a review and he said go ahead he did 26 spray tans last night and she is the only girl with an issue. She also was one of the last people in there so it is possible the spray was low after the 25 before her. If an owner can't stand behind his product or services and can speak to a customer like that they are not worth the business. If I could give no stars I would have. Never ever again will I go back and I would encourage anyone else looking at reviews prior to going to seek elsewhere. You won't know what you get until the next morning and let me tell you it is horrible. She even called to ask if she should shower first and what to do!! Don't recommend this place at all. read more

I've been coming here since I was 16. Almost 10 years later it's still up, running and well kept. You can tell the bulbs are changed regularly. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is super friendly and knowledgable. The owner (Bob) always remembers faces and if you go more than a handful of times will know your name without looking you up in the computer. I don't think there's is a tanning question in the book you could ask this man that he would not have a well explained answer for. I love their very wide variety of lotions and beds. I've heard great things about their spray tanning although it's not my thing. They also have face and leg tanning machines which I know many places do not offer. I honestly have never had a single complaint about this place and they always make you feel so welcome. I've been to a handful of other places locally and always.. Always end up back at Sunsational because I truly felt I was sacrificing quality. 5 stars is an understatement! I love it here. read more
