Horrible. Radios blaring everywhere. No enforcement of rules. I heard music from two separate groups that were over 100 yards away. Also, they are more worried about collars on shirts because of all of the signs in the clubhouse......oh wait they didn't enforce that either. Go somewhere else unless you want to hear concerts throughout the entire course. read more

First time at Sunset and was really disappointed. This golf course is more concerned about a dollar than the golfing experience. Had a reservation, 5 minutes prior to tee time Sunset informed us that there is no ride along. (I was the ride along) They booked a stranger to fill the cart when it was already occupied.. they claim this information is on their website but neither I nor my husband read this information. read more

3rd year in a row I've played here and 3rd year it is in terrible condition. Score cards show 6th hole (I think) as a 410 yd par 5, when it's a short par. 4 Score cards have no yardage for gold tees. No one in "pro shop" knew why ????? Score cards and hole diagram say nothing about the cart path and rough in front of 18th hole ???? Tees in very poor condition only surpassed by fairways which were terrible. Have played other courses in past few weeks with fairways in much better condition. Hole markings still confusing. Need direction on cart paths to next hole. Thursday mid afternoon, only hot dogs and shredded pork available as kitchen was closed ???? Only 1 person behind bar and food counter and she could not keep up with the demand. Now I remember why I haven't played here in many years. read more

Decent enough course that will get better with time - let me explain - SGC lies directly in the flight path of the Harrisburg airport. As such, the FAA mandated a host of changes (Jan 2017?) that are still being implemented as of 7/4/17. The major change is the loss of almost all the trees on the front 9. There are also adding some bunkers and re-routing some holes. As a result, the front will play more Links style and the back more Parkland. On to the course - it has some interesting holes that make it fun to play, as well as make you think of the tee (#10, 12, etc.). The back is harder in my opinion. The rates are reasonable and the bar is well sized with ample cold beverages. If you have an issue with the course being "under repair" with several temporary tee boxes, call and ask when the work is complete - my guess is not before 2018. Awful customer service. I have called several times and each time they were unwilling to accommodate a twosome before their 4:30 leagues... I called at 2:30! It's impossible to get on unless you're part of a league. When I have attempted to make tee times the staff is awfully rude and condescending. I apologize Sunset G.C. for trying to give you business. I can't review the course itself but my daughter's wedding reception was held here in October. If you are looking for a reasonably priced, scenic venue then this might be your place. It's located on a high point in Middletown overlooking the Susquehanna River. Three Mile Island and the airport are right nearby (and this worried me a bit) but they don't distract from the beautiful view. The outside deck is gorgeous, unfortunately we had a cold day so couldn't enjoy it as much as we had hoped. But I can imagine it would be a perfect spot for a wedding ceremony (or just a great party) in good weather. The buffet style meal was very tasty, no complaints there, and again the price was quite reasonable. Unfortunately there are a couple of reasons I can't give it 5 stars. There were only 2 serve staff on site for our 80 guests. One tending bar and the other apparently doing everything else. So things didn't get done quite as fast as I would've liked. The other thing that bothered me was the huge stains on the carpet (however when I said something to my mom she hadn't noticed). That being said, in the end it worked out very well and I think everyone had a really good time. I feel like this venue is just a little rough around the edges but has great potential! read more

Course is kept nice and decent price. They also have a nice bar and seating outside to sip on those cold suds after a round of swinging the sticks. Update: played nine holes after work last Thursday and of course there was a league in front of us. We get on the first tee box and look down at the green to see a group of 6 playing the hole...WTF!!! Let's just say it was an extremely slow 9 holes. No wonder people join country clubs. read more

Course is in great shape as of 7/30/14. Fairways and greens very lush. Sand traps are hard and it's very difficult to get the club under the ball. That's the only reason I can't give the course 5 stars. Speed of play is average. Great view of the infamous Three Mile Island Neclear Power Plant, the Susquehanna River and Harrisburg Intl Airport from the 1st green and 2nd tee box. I did not get any food but it was the typical hot dogs and sandwiches menu that most courses have. Definitely worth playing if you are in the area. read more

Not a bad course but terrible customer service. Rude and completely unaccommodating to non-league golfers. Impossible to get on during the week as they run leagues everyday with no room for single golfers. Overpriced and hard to get to as well. read more

Played course last week. Not in good shape at all. A lot of construction several holes closed, and many tee boxes not even working. And they were charging full price!! Should have been told all of this when we called to book tee times. Won't be going back anytime soon!! read more
