I wanted a second opinion so contacted Sunset Marine. They were kind and helpful on the phone we setup an appointment and I brought her in. Long story short I worked with Josh and Joey who were awesome, very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I am new to the boat world and had a lot of questions which they answered and did not rush our conversations. They ran a few tests and put a new impeller in the water pump and said go have fun. The steering cable for my 2022 Bayliner VR 4 was evidently not installed correctly when it was built and became very stiff. I called Sunset Marine (as they rebuilt my outboard on a previous boat 25 yrs ago) on a Tuesday and they said bring it in today. They installed a new cable and I was back on the water in a couple of days. Great job, very competent technicians. Last week we towed our boat out to this location. They are a bit expensive, but not really. This is one of those places that you get what you pay for. Ryan called us several times letting us know what was going on every step of the way. This was greatly appreciated. In one week or less they found what the problem was and fixed what we have been trying to track down/figure out for almost two years. I just wished we would have brought it here to begin with. I recently had Sunset Marine do some work on my Sea Pro 206cc. It was a smorgasbord list of items; Trim Tabs, Mercury Verado 200 starting issues, wiring issues, backup auto bilge pump and external speaker for my VHF. I took my boat in to have my outdrive serviced. I noticed that it was leaking oil so I took it to Sunset Marine. They performed the service and once I got the boat back home I noticed that it was still leaking oil from the outdrive. I called Sunset Marine and let them know the problem, they told me to bring it back in so they can take a look at it. Babe performed the service again. I took it home for the second time and noticed after about a week that it was leaking oil again. I decided to open it up myself and see where it was leaking from. As I was taking the lower unit off I noticed that the bolts that hold the lower unit together weren't tightened all the way. I also noticed when I took the water pump cover off that the gasket was torn and that the impeller had two of the impeller arms pointing the opposite way. that has nothing to do with the oil leak But that's a pretty important part of the cooling system to be installed wrong. read more

Easy-in, easy out despite my 56 ft overall length with truck and trailer. They're super busy so I had to wait for an appointment, but on the appointed day Joey was waiting for me and got me in and out in a day!
