The hubs on my PWC trailer were fine for 10 years. I thought it would be wise to service them, so I took them to East County Trailer Repair. They charged me $521 to replace the driver side hub. I leave from their shop and park it in my garage. I leave for a trip tomorrow and as I pull it out to get ready, the wheel is making noise. Thank god I noticed the noise. As I jack up the trailer the whole damn thing they supposedly repaired came out. Just look at the pictures!! How would they even re-repair this if the trailer is out of commission?? Should I even trust them to re-repair it?? Update: after a few emails and phone calls they sent the technicians over who forgot the cotter pin which caused the hub to come loose. They brought new hubs and replaced it in my garage, promptly. They apologized for the mistake and made sure to not repeat it again. read more

ECTR did a very good job on my camper, one day service. Very professional and knowledgeable.

I had a tire tack installed inside my trailer by a N. CA shop. The rack was designed to hang on vertical studs....the initial installers at Shop X missed this key feature. I brought the car to East County Trailer Repair to get this fixed before it pulled out of the studs and fell off the trailer wall. In the process they found other electrical problems that I had suspected...they corrected them. They don't just repair trailers, based on my recent experience, they can troubleshoot and fix electrical problems, they do fabrication as required, made me a very slick mount for my trailer's solar panel, and wired it to my trailer's deep cycle battery. They have lots of talent on staff, and their office Manager Christine is a delight. They do lots of other things that you will be amazed to see upon your first visit. Waste of my time! I took in my trailer and explained that one of the seals was leaking. Also explained that I had already replaced the seal and that it still leaked. Asked them to diagnose and repair. They said it was just a bad seal and that the seal on the other side was bad as well. Even though it was not leaking. So I paid them 400 to replace the seals on both sides. When I got home it was still leaking. I took it back and asked them to again diagnose and repair. They said it was again the seal and they replaced it again, no charge. When I got home it was still leaking. I called them back and they said that they needed to replace the axle, bearings, seals and the hubs to repair it and that it would be 1230.00 for the repair. I asked about the 400.00 I had already paid them and they said it was not their fault that it was leaking. So I guess maybe my 400.00 payment was actually a diagnostic fee. Needed my brakes and bearings serviced on our bumper pull TT prior to a weekend camping trip. Called to set up an appointment and they were a couple weeks out. Appointment date fell the Wednesday before we were to leave, so I had accepted that we may not make it on our trip. Dropped it off and the tech pointed out that my tires were all out of date - super dangerous (good catch). I asked if they could install the LED marker lights I'd purchased but that I hadn't had time for yet, and they had no problem with that. Carrie, one of the owners that had helped me when I first called, was there to get me set up with paperwork and whatnot. She said they would try to get it back to me before my trip. She called me Thursday to let me know it would be ready for pickup Friday morning!! They totally delivered and exceeded my expectations. Brakes were fixed, all new tires, and my lights installed. I was hauling a new car down to my boss in San Diego and planning on bringing his old vehicle back to the dealership in Carson City Nevada, when I had a very unfortunate run in with a concrete guard post in a very tight gas station. I apparently bent both the fender and the axle. Three of us, myself, the big boss down in San Diego, and my immediate supervisor back home, were calling various repair shops in the southern CA area. Time and time again these shops had me bring the trailer to them for repairs resulting in my dragging that car hauler trailer on three wheels everywhere from Parris, to Riverside, to Ontario only to find out once I got there they didn't work on axles. Finally two of us called East County and by that time we knew the exact question to ask "if the axle is bent or broken do you repair or replace axles?" Even their receptionist was confident in her providing her answer and I immediately drove from Riverside down to their shop in El Cajon. After all the frustration of dragging that trailer throughout S. CA, two of their guys came out, took a quick look and very confidently told me in no uncertain terms they could repair it for me so that I could get back on the road. They were able to fit me in just two days later, and the confidence that they had displayed they backed up with a fast and excellent repair job. Brought in my flat bed trailer late afternoon to get a brake and bearing problem looked at, Dustin had me explain the problems and the history of the trailer and then went over everything he would do to assess the issues. Avoid this place. Go somewhere else. The owner got into a rage because I told him I had a concern about the fix he performed on my trailer. Threated to cut up my trailer all over 2 welds he didn't do.. A bar on my double jetski trailer rusted out into 2 pieces. Figured water got into the bar and rusted from the inside out.. Took it there. The owner looked at it and we decided on a plan on how to fix it. Great. Told me cost $680 fine. The problem. 2 days later. Went to pick up trailer. It was parked outside. So I inspected it and noticed he only welded 3 corners so it exposed and opening so water can get back in and do the same as before. So I went into shop and said I have one concern and before I could finish the next word the owner flew into a rage. Started calling me names yelling saying he spent so much time on trailer. He treating to cut off the pieces and I could go somewhere else. At that point I told him to do it because I didn't want to give him any money. Then he said he would chop up my trailer and toss it into the street. His wife was there and was on his side blaming me. The while time they never listen to what my concern was. Finally after all the yelling from him I told his wife it's just 2 welds and you guys are acting like assholes. He finally took the trailer and welded to 2 spots .
