The problem with the rooms is there's Indian immigrants on the same floor so the over powering smell of curry is nauseating. My whole room smells like a wet dog that's been dead for a few days. Funny how we can't smoke in our rooms but cooking curry is ok. Then the window is calked shut so I can't even air my room out. The elevators are sketch AF. They seriously need an upgrade. The better treadmills in the fitness room are broken too. The only plus is I haven't experienced bed bugs yet but I'm not holding my breath.

I woke up approximately around 4:30AM to roaches crawling on the back of my thigh while I was sleeping in bed. I jumped up, turned on the light, and what I saw made me feel absolutely disgusted -- multiple roaches crawling on the floor and under my shoes and clothes. All throughout the entire room! As soon as I moved my belongings, they started scattering and falling out. It was a full-blown infestation. I couldn't go back to sleep. I threw everything in the tub and frantically cleaned and wiped everything as much as I could. I was horrified thinking I may have roach eggs or bugs in my clothes and bags. The fact that this motel is even allowed to operate in this condition is beyond me. I tried contacting front desk and customer service said I had to contact hotels.com/expedia. When I contacted Hotels.com (where I booked the room), they attempted several times to reach the property manager, who conveniently refused to respond or approve a refund -- even though this was clearly a health and sanitation violation. I was offered a $25 voucher, which is absolutely insulting. I have stayed in plenty of budget hotels in my life, but this was pure filth. This place should be inspected by the health department and temporarily shut down until properly cleaned and exterminated. Do not book here. Not worth saving a few dollars. The rooms were very clean with new furniture, nice bedding, and vinyl "wood" floors. The free breakfast was quite nice and included a pancake machine, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cereal, oatmeal, and a pastry section. They also had yogurt and great condiments including Chula hot sauce and Nutella spread. My only complaint is that the pool was a bit cold. They need to turn up the heater a bit, my youngest was freezing and got out right away. No hot tub.

The pool area is right next to the lobby area. This hotel is spacious and in a great location. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants in downtown Racine.
