Very impressed with my stay at Comfort Inn & Suites. I checked in for the night of a friend's wedding and didn't expect much. Usually I'm happy with a bed and somewhere to crash. I'm actually very happy with our experience over all. My fiancé is a seasoned traveler and he has a little checklist he likes to go by when rating his hotels, and Comfort Inn impresses him too. Part of his checklist: free WiFi? Check. Is the outlet next to the nightstand so you don't have to get up to charge your phone? Check. Pillows and bed comfortable? Check. Air quality in the room? Good! Was checking in and out a smooth process? Yes. I agree with all of the above. That was one of the comfiest beds I've slept in when it comes to a hotel and I almost wanted to steal a pillow (I promise I didn't). read more

They could replace the television in room 223. Possibly repair the water works so it doesn't sound like I've crossed the event horizon and water can scream now. Maybe fill up their pool? The best part of my experience was the nocturnal-fed nonplussed attitude of the check in girl. Upon checkin the clerk was very incompetent. I explained my reservation to him. He walked away to the back room and put a mask on like it was 2020 or something! Then I couldn't understand him because there was already a language barrier since Im not fluent in tech-supporties. Finally I get checked in but he didn't make my key for the right amount of days I was staying so my key went dead. The rooms are clean but very dark. Not much for lighting. The problem with the rooms is there's Indian immigrants on the same floor so the over powering smell of curry is nauseating. My whole room smells like a wet dog that's been dead for a few days. Funny how we can't smoke in our rooms but cooking curry is ok. Then the window is calked shut so I can't even air my room out. The elevators are sketch AF. They seriously need an upgrade. The better treadmills in the fitness room are broken too. The only plus is I haven't experienced bed bugs yet but I'm not holding my breath. read more

The room that was offered me wasn't at it's best. The room smelled so bad i bought Frebreeze to clear the air somewhat. My socks were black from the carpet. Since they were so short handed I was told that if I needed my gargage emptied or clean towels. I would have to do that myself. Less amenities you might think a lower room charge. Not going to happen here. The morning breakfast wasn't much better. Although the breakfast was good they had no milk. When I asked why, the response was we'll get some this afternoon. Needless to say I won't be back. Being a Choice rewards member I am. You would think they may want to take care of me. read more

Comfort Inn and Suites in Dixon, Illinois has seriously gone downhill. We used to like staying here when visiting family in the area but our last visit in early August 2023 was horrible. The room smelled badly of a smoker's room. I tried to open the window to air the room out but found it had been sealed closed with two phillips head screws. We went to the Walmart next door and bought a big can of febreeze. We sprayed everything fabric in the room, carpet, drapes, bedding, etc. I then removed the screws from the window with my swiss army knife and opened the room up to ventilate. Thee breakfast used to be very good. Now it's just meh. We only stayed 2 nights and then moved over to the Holiday Inn Express in Rock Falls. We will never stay at this hotel again. On the up side, there is a new TRU hotel being built across the road from this one. I hope they get up and running in a year or two as Dixon is very convenient to my family. read more

My husband and I were not impressed. We stayed here for a wedding. It was convenient be a use it was attached to the conference room with the reception. We booked a head of time and got a whole suite for $79 (that's a plus). I had three chances to talk to the front desk person: arriving, checking out, and a phone call to ask how long breakfast was served. All three times (at least two different people) they were kind of rude and didn't smile, just acted like they didn't care or want to be there. The hallways STUNK! We were in a nonsmoking area and they smelled like grease and must. The breakfast wasn't anything great. Simple, basic. The Danishes were stale and eggs were rubbery. The cereal dispensers need to be cleaned. The room we were in had two heat/air units. One of them looked gross with black stuff on the side. It also looked like all the vents were broken on it. My husband said it looked like they tried to do a remodel, but it was just done poorly. In a bathroom on the lower level by laundry, they were missing a drain and it looked like a hole in the floor. In the hallway I ran into to housekeepers and they were very friendly, smiling... Refreshing. read more

My fiance has been here for work the last several weeks so I came to visit for the weekend. Not typically somewhere we would stay, but the staff was great and very accommodating and provided us with a suite for the weekend. The suite is huge and had a large jacuzzi tub. There was a small wet bar with mini fridge and microwave. The living room area is large with a separate room with a king size bed. The bathroom was very dated, but clean with good water pressure. The temps were in the 100s while we were here so we were appreciative of the great a/c! There is a continental breakfast each morning with cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels, doughnuts coffee and juice. They also had Golden Malted waffles (shutout to New Carbon Company in our hometown of South Bend that makes the waffle makers, mixes, etc). You make your own with a choice of cinnamon or regular flavored waffles - easy and tasty. The staff is very friendly and helpful - makes up for the old and dated hotel. read more

What a fantastic hotel! I made a reservation for a king jacuzzi suite room. when I opened the door to my room it was clear there was a mistake, I was put in an extended stay room. I went back to the desk and Kayla Harris was quick to not just fix it, but to upgrade my room to a huge 2 bedroom two bath suite with a 4 person tub in the main room. This hotel is not new, but it is unique! My room was clean and spacious with a private balcony. the hotel is a maze of hallways and has a good restaurant, bar, pool table, pinball machine and a huge indoor pool and fitness center. I'm looking forward to staying more than one night next time I'm in town. read more

I wouldn't stay here again. Once a year we come this way for cheerleading Competition and this is the not the spot to stay. There is no soda machine to get a water or pop. There are tons of stains on the bathrooms. The beds are way warped and need to be replaced. The halls stink to high heaven. The pool area smells like a sewer. Not happy at all. read more

This is a unique property, part hotel, part condo. On the plus side it is easy to find, somewhat close to the interstate, near restaurants, friendly staff, a decent complementary breakfast, and a large, warm pool. There is also on sight fitness center. The warm pool and friendly staff were the highlights. On the other hand, our room had a burnt toast smell, the bathroom fan was loud and squeaky, and we were awoke twice at night. Once by rain ting, ting, tapping against the exterior of the room ac unit, and again early in the morning by the nest of baby birds chirping from the exterior of the room ac unit. There is a restaurant on site , but I suggest you drive to nearby airport and try e Flight Deck and hope to see some skydiving while you eat. read more

Probably one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. The pictures are not a good representation of the actual property. Uncomfortable bed, the furniture is old and tattered. Everything is gross, pool is cold and disgusting. Hot tub currently has sign reading, "closed due to chemical imbalance", and the water is light green. Will not be coming back. read more

I think this may be a hidden gem in Rochelle! The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly. The coffee was fresh in the morning, and the continental breakfast was bigger than most places have to offer for continental breakfasts. The pool is run by the town, and it shuts down at 8pm. It's an indoor Olympic-sized pool, with life guards, since it's run by the town. I believe there's a hot tub, and sauna, and workout facility, although I didn't get a chance to see this first hand. I read about it in the hotel amenities book. The rest of my family enjoyed the pool while, once again, I was busy earning a paycheck. :-)) The room I stayed in had two full-sized beds. I had to be careful to not sit too close to the edge of the bed, as it tended to tip up at the head board while I was puttin' my shoes on. But, the cable worked, and the in-room air conditioner kept the room at a cool 66, so I can put up with the bed. I knocked on my friend's door when we first arrived to let him know we were here. He didn't answer. When I saw the room the next morning, I can understand why. He didn't hear me. He was in a suite. His room was twice as large as mine was, and extra quiet, for some reason. My room was quiet, but this was like a library! The suite had a king-sized bed in the second room, along with the shower and toilet. Don't quote me, but I believe the hotel is undergoing a quiet restoration, and they're trying to upgrade each room as they can. My wife noticed that they might have had a wedding reception or something goin' on, because when she came back through the hallway it smelled like barbeque chicken. I couldn't smell anything, but I am NOT about to question her. :-)) The night of my daughter's birthday, she and I had Pizza Hut. I just wrote a review on that awesome delivery service! My wife didn't want the Hut, so she went downstairs to the restaurant at the hotel. She ordered a salad, bacon cheeseburger, with onion rings. WOW!!! Charred to perfection and delicious in the middle, like making it home on the grill! The onion rings were thick and delicious. My wife said the salad was good, for a salad. The hotel doesn't offer room service, so you'll have to order it, and either wait, or go get it when it's ready. But based on what I tasted, I may skip the Hut next time and just order dinner at the hotel!!! I wrote a quick tip about the breakfast, but I'll recap... Coffee! Apple Juice, Orange Juice, 2% milk. Two cereals, Raisin Bran and Fruit Loops. Bread for toasting, Bagels, small danish, and biscuits to go with the sausage gravy. Batter for homemade waffles with easy-to-follow-haven't-had-coffee-yet instructions. Oatmeal if you want it, which is why one of the coffee containers is labeled hot water. Hard boiled eggs for your protein, yogurt, or fruit. The staff was on hand to make sure nothing ran out and the coffee stayed fresh. Nice touch!!! While on our journey from Milan to Minsk, we stopped for the night in Rochelle at The Comfort Inn. We had reservations and our room was not only ready, we were upgraded to a suite upon arrival at no charge. We chose this hotel because they are pet friendly and our poodles were warmly received. The room was spacious with a jacuzzi and a flat panel TV. It was a little difficult to view the TV from the bed because of the size of the room. The layout spoke if many renovations over time - nooks here and crannies there. Some of the cabinetry, etc is dated, but everything was clean and we are always appreciative of a refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was well kept with up to date fixtures. Let me just say this: power toilet! As far as the hotel in general, great breakfast. The on site restaurant, Abe's Grille and Bar, closed early and we almost missed having a meal here being weary from our travels. Locating a full menu online or elsewhere was a challenge. We did manage to hit the bar on karaoke night and while we were a little disappointed that no one sang Bette Midler, the local talent was entertaining with an especially moving rendition of Muskrat Love. There is also only ice and vending on a couple floors of a 10 floor hotel so keep that in mind when looking for the ice machine. We would stay here again for a night as a stopover. read more

The hotel is very old and needs the updating in which they say is happening. The lady running the breakfast is racist and hovers as you are eating. This was mentioned to the gm and she approved her behavior stating there were previous issues so now everyone is being judged going through the swift program. We came back to our room one day and our door was left open by the maid. This was explained away as well. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if not a necessity. read more

This hotel is a little old, so I wasn't expecting everything to be in tip-top shape. Regardless, the room was not that bad, it was pretty clean and everything worked and the breakfast was not that bad. But what really sucks about this place is that the wifi does not work! It might turn on for a few minutes, 10 minutes max, then you have to log in again, and again, and again. You can't get any work done, nor pay your bills, or do anything that requires an internet connection. They have an old computer in the lobby that is just as slow. You can call an 800# but you'll just get an answering machine. The only thing that makes this place worthwhile is the Olympic size pool and the gym on the first floor, for people who like to swim and workout. That's about it. read more

I stayed here for a friend's wedding, and the service was great. One of my other friends, who was not even staying at the hotel, had car trouble. The staff lent him a blanket to lay on the ground outside, as well as tools to try and fix his car. They were also just friendly in general. I was very pleased. read more

1. Television picture was absolutely horrible, tho this that important to me. 2. breakfast was hardly edible, also not that important. 3. When I stay at a hotel I need 2 basic things out of that hotel. I need a reasonably comfortable bed and a shower. While I had a reasonably comfortable bed, when I tried to take a shower I was scalded as the room seemed to have no cold water. I called the front desk. 10 minutes later I was told to come get a key for a room 4 floors away which was vacant and I could shower in. So now Im running around the hotel getting keys and half wet getting ready to head to work which I am not late for and my hand is pink and hurts from scalding hot water (Im not sure why the hot water even gets 140 degrees as thats dangerous, but Ill save that for another time). The lack of a reasonable shower after paying $165 for a room in the middle of nowhere would have earned them 2.5 stars as the bed was comfortable. However, I tried to send a note to the hotel to make sure management fixed it for future guests, and their web form limited me to 1026 characters so I was unable to correctly inform them of what went wrong. A day later a manager called me to apologize. That would have earned them some points but they offered me 1000 hotel points as an apology for the horrible morning they caused me. I said thanks and moved on. Upon actually looking at what 1000 points gets me at choice hotels, I found that if I just spend $1500 more with them this year, I can get about $3 for the points they gave me. They made an honest mistake during maintenance and forgot to turn the cold water back on, but to me compounded that mistake by insulting me with a $3 coupon. read more

The pictures you see on web page of the rooms are nothing of what the rooms look like! Lol! Far far from!! This hotel has the worst lay out I've ever seen or been in! I don't know if the building was an office, apartment or who knows what. To get to the restaurant, you go through a maze like a mouse looking for a piece of cheese! I'm not kidding either!! The rooms are only ok. Wifi is terrible! Couldn't do any work because wifi cuts in and out all the time. The rooms are also bizarre. You have this huge room and then you have a bathroom is smaller than the closets in the room. You open the door and it hits the toilet so you have to do a little maneuvering to get in. The rooms have a dark decor and feels depressing. The restaurant in the hotel wasn't that bad but service is not very good at all!! Watched an older couple sit in the restaurant for 15min. They had to hunt down someone so they could get a menu and try to order. The lady that put the breakfast out did a great job and she was polite. But I'm still scratching my head on the buildings lay out! read more

My husband is a long haul trucker, and myself and our two dogs go with him. After weeks on the semi, it was hard to find a hotel/motel, besides motel 6 that had semi parking, pet friendly, pool, and nice decent rooms. We found this on yelp and they had all the amenities we needed plus so much more!!! We had two days off and just wanted to relax and have room to move around!! Well we got it along with a hot tub in the bathroom as well as a kitchenette and living room!! We stayed at the Baymont Inn and suites in OKC, OK for the same price and didn't have close to what we had on this room!!! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone with pets, kids, anyone who just wants to have a clean, comfortable bed, lots of room, place to stay. I seen some of the reviews and I just think those people need to stay HOME!! FOR THE PRICE,I CAN'T COMPLAIN AND I WILL COME BACK HERE THE NEXT TIME WE COME THROUGH!
