I couldn't as I was in heavy traffic on an interstate in a city (Tacoma) and driving a 20' moving truck. The he had the nerve to text me a few minutes later "And gone for the remainder of the day." What a difference 40 years makes…read more I was at the Salish Lodge on a business trip for a week in 1989, and it was one of the most lovely experiences I've ever had. By the end of the first day, every valet and front desk person knew all of us by name, and they bent over backward to be helpful and treat us like valued guests even though we were working an event and weren't the ones paying for the rooms. (Our company had bought out the entire lodge, which was much smaller at the time.) All the guest rooms at that time faced the river and had a beautiful view of it. Not so anymore, as they've renovated the lodge and many rooms have either no view or a view of trees (definitely beautiful) but not the river. The latter was our experience. There was a tiny glimpse to be had if you peered far off to the right, but otherwise our view was the trees. This was disappointing simply because we didn't know the place had been added on to and now had non-river view rooms. My husband, who had given me this trip as a Christmas present, was very disappointed and asked if there were any river view rooms available instead. Sure -- for $700. (No thanks.) We stayed in our $400+ tree view room instead, but honestly, this room is about $250 overpriced. For that price, one would expect everything to be in perfect condition, plus a large-ish room. Not the case in ours. It's smaller than the size of a standard La Quinta or Comfort Inn type of room, has no dresser or drawers to unpack your clothes (unless you remove the iron from the 6"x6" drawer it's stored in), and the "closet" is an IKEA-like unit in the entryway of the room. There's a fireplace, a TV, and a small desk, plus two chairs crammed into the corner, and a narrow balcony outside to listen to -- not see -- the river. The bathroom has a shower with two rain-style shower heads, so bring something to cover your hair if you don't want to drench it every time you shower. (The hotel doesn't provide shower caps -- only a small bottle of lotion and some Q-tips and a make-up removal wipe that doesn't remove makeup. It's just to keep you from getting it on the white towels.) As to the room's condition -- There are lamps on each side of the bed. Mine had a wonky switch that had to be jiggled just so in order to work. It's supposed to be dimmable, but mine was either on or off. There is also a reading light built into the headboard. Mine didn't work. Also, water was shooting out the side of one of the shower heads where it connects to the pipe in the wall. I did tell the front desk the next morning, and they offered to move us to another room. I didn't want to have to pack up all my stuff and move to another room that may have had less of a view than we already had, so I told them we were leaving for the day and asked that someone come in to fix the issues. They did, but about six hours after I put in the request, my husband received a text asking when it would be convenient for them to come in. Needless to say, communication between the staff isn't great. As of this writing (getting ready to check out on Day 4), now the fireplace isn't working. It stopped last nigh

My Fiancé and I reserved and stayed at mysterious room #6 which incase if you already know... this was the same exact room in Fire Walk With Me with Laura Palmer and Ronette Pulaski were seen in. I got to say. Staying in this exact film site location was amazing! Leo, one of the hotel managers made sure we were taken care of as far as booking this special room for our eventful weekend for Fire Walk With me with Shery Lee and made sure we had access to our room! Definitely would stay here again at this establishment and would encourage any twin peaks fans to reserve room #6 when you can or you can get room #8 for phillip jeffries room as well incase you can't get #6, but trust me. This place you enter is both wonderful and strange as Dale Cooper would say and was definitely a magical stay here at Mt. Si Motel aka Red Diamond Motel.

You also have the added benefit of less traffic since the location isn't as close to the town center as the other hotels. I recommend the place. Don't be afraid to try it out. When we arrived at Treehouse Point, everybody was so professional and kind! We were given a quick tour of all of the amenities in the lodge and other community areas. Then, we were directed to our tree house, Ananda. Just wow! It was cozy as well as spacious, and it was very well appointed with everything we could possibly need! Even though there were other tree houses around ours, we ALL enjoyed total privacy. A great deal of attention has been made in creating personal experiences while still tending to developing a very unique community. All building materials in our treehouse were the best quality available, and the workmanship is second to none! We walked around the grounds, being respectful of others' privacy. Every tree house was unique and beautiful! We then took the trail down to the Raging River. It was beautiful, but our spring has been unusually dry, and the river a little thirsty. Overnight, a rainstorm came through the area. The sound coming from a refreshed river the next morning was breathtaking! I wanted to wake up so I could experience it all, but instead I slept through it. I guess I slept comfortably! (And I am not young.) The bath houses were beautiful and felt like individual spa rooms. They were supplied with wonderful bath products, and the shower offered a pampering experience. Similarly, special products and amenities were provided in our private unit, including coffee and tea. We were going to wash our few dishes, but no dish soap was found, further demonstrating Treehouse Point's intent to pamper their guests. After waking up in the trees, we prepared our own mugs of coffee, tea, and nibbles. After a peaceful start to the day, we made our way to the lodge for breakfast (feeding the fish along the way). Our own breakfast was absolutely wonderful! The chef and souz chef prepared several wonderful dishes. The selections and quality of preparation were both outstanding! Our visit was so wonderful that we truly didn't want to leave! We made the visit to fulfill a bucket list item, but we are already talking about returning again, this time with friends. I mean come on, I haven't seen one of those since before the Clinton Administration. Anyway the place has no issue with cleanliness or sanitation. While clean, this place could use some decoration. The plain white walls are a little depressing. The mattress was comfortable. As a truck driver I was grateful for the tractor trailer parking that is so hard to come by even 30 miles from Seattle. I would definitely return. The hotel is within walking distance of several convenience stores and Starbucks.

So I pulled the comforter back to check the situation there and wouldn't ya know there was a curly little guy resting up on my husband's pillow ( I immediately assigned that to him lol ) that was indeed my breaking point. I said that's it and grabbed our stuff and headed to the front desk. I usually don't say much in situations but this was unacceptable. We walked to the front desk and I handed the guy ( very very nice guy ) and said um there's a pube on the pillow, he was embarrassed but assured me it wasn't his ( like I said this was a nice guy ) he blushed a bit when I said most places leave a mint on the pillow lol but I draw the line on pubes, that's a no for me. So he offered us a different room, we hadn't much of a choice so we agreed. Okay new room, it was clean so I was greatfyl for that, TV worked but the remote didn't, husband went to the front desk guy and he come up and helped out. We did go to the store and get some Lysol and a magic eraser because my trust issues were greatly being tested at this point. SoThought I would relax in the tub and prepare to try and sleep and not think about the pube situation. So I use my Lysol and magic eraser and finally time to relax? No. The tub wouldn't hold water as the plug was broke I couldn't call front desk because I felt we put this poor guy through enough already and I was to cold to get out and let's face it, he would've been traumatized cuz I wasn't getting out to freeze. Well I managed to get out and get into bed. I was online reading reviews of the very place I was planning to sleep for the night ( never do that by the way, it's like googling your symptoms sending you into sheer panic ) I read where someone mentioned bugs! Bugs? I don't do bugs so my anxiety was in high gear and low and behold guess what showed up? A bug big enough to stand his ground in a fight! The husband and I inspected this buff little guy and he was just a tree bug so we left him be but kept an eye on him ( I just knew he was coming for me and guess what?? He freaking found MY pillow!! Okay so I picked up the pillow and took it to the window and released him back to the woods because he probably didn't want to be there either so we parted ways. And that was the end of our " issues " as I finally gave in and passed out. I am alive and semi well this morning, still having trust issues but at least I am not clutching my family size can of Lysol. As far as the place goes, it can use some work on cleanliness but as far as staff goes the guy from last night's " pube " fiasco was amazing and fixed the reported issues ASAP.
