If I could give 0 stars, I would. First off, we started at the "maze," which was not scary at all and filled with little kids pretending to be actors. They were terrible at scaring people, honestly, it was so bad it was funny. I wouldn't even call it a maze; I don't know what it was supposed to be. It took maybe 5-10 minutes to get through, and it was just an overall joke. Then we moved on to the forest part, which was somehow worse. They offer light-up necklaces so the "actors" (if you can even call them that) can touch you. As soon as the trailer dropped us off, one of the workers grabbed my girlfriend by the neck very aggressively and dragged her into the line. She ended up with neck pain, and I was furious. I thought they were supposed to scare people, not assault them. That was completely uncalled for. We tried to make the best of it and keep going, but the whole walk through the forest was a mess. The workers just stood there, screamed in people's faces, and awkwardly walked toward you. It wasn't scary, it was just annoying. Near the end, they made everyone go through a tube, and as my girlfriend went through, one of the actors started shaking it violently to the point where she fell and hurt her back, which ended up bruised. Again, not scary just dangerous and careless. Overall, this place was a complete waste of time and money. The actors were inexperienced, unprofessional, literal children trying and some of them were downright aggressive. If you're looking to actually be scared, don't come here, you'd have a better time watching paint dry. read more

I love getting Florida blueberries straight from the farm. Although I'm not all about picking them. I did it last year and blueberries are so teeny tiny. It would take me forever to fill a bucket. So buying the pre-picked ones again for the second week in a row at a different blueberry farm made me happy. A lot of places are closed, but farms are essential since there are fruits and veggies, etc. This blueberry farm is wonderful and has such great character. I love the big trees with shaded area. It's very family oriented. Their prices are really good too. If you pre-pick you park your car and go behind the green door to the side. If you pick blueberries, the tram will take you to the designated picking spot. There is music, blueberry lemonade, blueberry soft serve, pies, salsas, honeys. There's a playground for the kiddos and picnic tables and rocking chairs and an inside outside restrooms. I bought pre-picked for 2lbs for $10. This is cheaper than the place I went to last week in Lakeland. I loved our time here, and so glad I found a beautiful local spot! They are dog friendly by the picnic tables, but not in the blueberry fields. That makes total sense! So glad they were so welcoming to us! We will be back next year!! read more

I recently took my family to Lake Catherine for a little kick off into our fall season of fun. It's a cute little place and perfect for family trips. It was a bit of a drive from where we live but a fun adventure none the less. We decided to do the family maze because my son has wanted to do a "corn maze" for a couple of years now. Although it's not corn you are actually going through a type of "weed" with pretty yellow flowers. I can imagine by the end of the season the weeds can get pretty dry and roughened up so try and go earlier like late Sept/early Oct. It's cute but be prepared for a lot of insects and sandspurs during your journey in the maze. Come with the correct attire. After you do the maze they have a golf cart to pick you up and carry back to the main area where there is small pumpkin patch set up along with a stand for purchasing a limited amount of food and drinks. We bought multiple blueberry lemonades and honestly they were very good and super refreshing. As far as food goes we waited and ate somewhere else. They do have a little play area/swing set for the kids to play on but it's pretty run down. All in all this place is cute but they could definitely use some upgrading in some areas. It's quaint and has some charm but I don't believe we will return. One experience is good for us. read more

We have been picking blueberries at Lake Catherine's for several years. They go the extra mile to entertain and enhance the experience for their guests. There is a small play structure, store and a stage for musicians. With respect to Covid-19 the store is closed and there was not a live band playing onstage. You can still purchase ice cream, honey, jam and more at the registers. They had at least two portable hand washing stations and an employee hand washing every bucket between guest use. You have to go online and reserve a 30 minute time slot to pick berries. There is a dollar per person charge taken when booking your reservation. It is later deducted from your purchase. This ensures that everyone can easily stay at least 6 feet apart from one another. read more

I'm all for supporting local community businesses but when you advertise a corn maze/scavenger hunt/pumpkin patch event and you get there and you're in a pile of, I don't know what, maybe weeds?, and pumpkins in a box, that is just downright wrong. Let me mention that it was 40 miles away. I can't believe you had to PAY for this. The first two pics is what they advertise, the rest is what we actually experienced. Oh and not one person wore a mask, no social distancing and the same person who was handling everyone's dirty money and dirty credit cards was also the same person handling the food . What a wonderful little gem. Best little farm I have been to in a long time. So relaxing and everyone, who worked there, was so nice. We got there around 11am and hitched a ride on a golf cart to the blueberry fields. They dropped us off to areas, that had not been picked yet. We collected quite a bit of blueberries in the buckets, they provided. The blueberries are so so sweet and looked great. We hitched a ride back to the farm and had our harvest weight and packed in plastic containers. I got two waffle cone ice creams and a huge container of blueberries and it came out to $13. The little store also offered pies, lemonades, jam and honey. We walked outside and sat down under a nice canopy of trees. A local band was playing and the kids enjoyed the play area. Since the weather was so beautiful and the music so relaxing, I also tried the blueberry margarita they offered at the outside bar. For $7, it was totally reasonably priced. It was a great outing. We left around 1pm. We will be back! read more

Lake Catherine blueberries is a beautiful, family-owned and run farm. Bring the family for a fun day of berry picking and live music. On their facebook page they share upcoming events at the farm. I went for a happy hour and their homemade craft cocktails are delicious. I had the sangria and rum runner drinks. Both so refreshing. It was also a great time to pick blueberries from he field as it wasn't so hot out. Lake Catherine also has a catering business and serves up delightful food from their food truck on the farm. Definitely try the pork nachos!!! Pulled pork, cheese, and coleslaw served over homemade sweet potato braided fries. There is a lot going on for kids as well, including soft serve ice cream and blueberry lemonade. There is a playground and "train" rides which were even a hit for my 8 and 12 year olds! read more

My husband and I just wrapped up a great blueberry adventure. We got to the farm a little after 10:00 AM and picked until around noon. The farm has two varieties of blueberries available: jewels which are a bit more tart, and emeralds which are a sweeter berry. We picked a bucket of each, planning to use the jewels for cooking and the emeralds for smoothies and eating plain. Buckets are provided by the farm. We took a brief hay ride to phase 2 of the farm, since their phase 1 had been picked through, per the staff member explaining the process to us. The berry fields were easy to access and plenty of huge, juicy berries could be found. All in all, we picked about 13 pounds of berries, and then enjoyed a brief walk back to the farm store. The staff members weigh your buckets, then package up your berries in plastic containers like those you typically find berries in at the store. The service was quick and friendly. $4 per pound for you-pick. If you aren't in the mood to pick your own berries, blueberries are also available for purchase for $5 per pound. Blackberries aren't quite in season yet, but we plan to head back when they are. Perfect outing for a Sunday Funday. read more

Everyone was soooo nice! Plenty of blue berries and black berries!!! We got a ride to the blueberry fields sitting on haystacks! That was so fun! Their blueberry cheesecake ice cream is fabulously delicious! The boys also enjoyed the blueberry lemonade. I bought some honey and blueberry jam. We got 4 lbs of blueberry and are excited to try make a blueberry pie and definitely blueberry pancakes! The owner told the boys if your mouth isn't blue on your way back from picking blueberries, you didn't eat enough! Customer service was great. Today was a splendid day for blueberry picking with fellow foodies. @lovenconfection was able to rally the troops on this gorgeous day. We couldn't have asked for better weather. @mysweetzepol @susan3022 myself and others were treated like royalty thanks to Dustin, our tour guide for the day. We got to do a tour before it was open to the public. Dustin is the man in charge and the man with all the knowledge when it comes to blueberries. Dustin was able to break down the difference between the Jewel blueberry and the Emerald blueberry. Being new to the game I didn't realize there was a difference. But I did learn one important lesson along with @xobejm. We haven't been fans of blueberries because we have never had them from "Farm to Family", The Lake Catherine motto. We learned that the Jewel's are tart and the Emerald's were sweet. @Xobejm @tarajroth and I loved them both. We were given the opportunity to pick blueberries and try some along the way. I kept on saying throughout the day that I would never eat another blueberry the same way again. I have such an appreciation for it now. The view is spectacular and on this day it was so peaceful. LCB had about 80 professional pickers today. They start early morning but must wait for the dew to dry on the berries before they start picking. This can delay start times. Sometimes between 9:00am to 11:00am. The picking went very smooth. Not at all what I expected it to be. Thought it would be tiresome and it ended being so much fun for all of us. @tarajroth and @xobejm have already made plans to return with some friends and family. Dustin was able to show us around the area and I was amazed with how many acres they had. But the part I loved the most was hearing the family stories. Dustin's son DJ is fifth generation farmer. The whole family is involved in the business. Their business cards says it all "Family Owned and Operated". Those words always bring me joy. We were so inspired by the event that @tarajroth came home and made for the first time a blueberry sauce. And she is making blueberry muffins as we speak. Blueberry season starts April 20 here at LCB and ends about Memorial Day depending on the weather. We learned from Dustin that the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. It reminds me of a song. @xobejm got a nice one and she was so proud of herself. She is a natural born picker. : ) LCB was kind enough to offer us pints to fill up and bring some home with us. They have an array of products that they make and sell. Honey, syrup, cobblers, etc. We had the privilege of tasting some of the jams they make and they were amazing. Their products can be found in various Farmers Markets. Jamie and Dustin, Thank you so much for your hospitality and warmness when we arrived. We had a great time meeting the family. We went blueberry picking at Lake Catherine this holiday weekend and had a great experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there was live music to keep us entertained while we picked! That was a first in my experience. Most importantly, the blueberries are DELICIOUS! A big upgrade in our eyes is that they now take credit cards. No need to pick up cash beforehand. read more

This was a Memorial Day weekend surprise for my family and me. Just a nice relaxing drive from Orlando is this amazing farm. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly gentleman and a small four legged friend. We waited under a nice shady tree while sipping on fresh made blueberry lemonade for the transport to take us out to the fields. The very short ride through to the fields with a very friendly and knowledgeable young man was awesome. Once we were out there we had a blast going down row after row of giant plump blueberries picking them to our hearts content. You quickly fill a bucket and end up with more than you planned but it is so worth it. We freeze them and use them in sauces, ice cream, smoothies and much more. You can't beat the price per pound and you can't beat the experience. It is great to get away from the city to enjoy the simpler things in life. Great people, great place and great photo opportunities. I highly recommend this for people of all ages. Might get a little hot toward the summer so bring water, sunscreen and go hydrated! read more

Very nice fruit picking family adventure. You can pick both blueberries and blackberries. The people who work there are super helpful and very nice. They provide the buckets and you are transported to the fields which the kids will enjoy...They have a tiny country store with items to purchase along with ice cream. There's a playground for the kids, nice sitting for adults and on this day there was live music. The only challenge are the port-o-potty's. read more

They advertise all kinds of festivities for Halloween for during the days hours but when you get there nothing is going on and what is available is a small fraction of what was described. I went here on a field trip with my Kindergartener. It was an awesome place to visit and the blueberries were delicious as well as the blueberry lemonade. We liked it so much that we went back the next day with the whole family. The family that owns the place is very knowledgeable and helpful and kind.
