So SAD to see this place not taking attention to cleaning detail. Mold around the shower area, scum on the floor, leaky toilet seal for over 2 years, hair and scum on the floor under the suit dryer and no cleanup around the outside of the building. I've been coming here for over 15 years and it has never been this disgusting. Today the front desk let in a guy with a dog and he proceeded to walk around the pool area with it. They should realize some people are allergic, all the helpers did was smirk. SAD.... people are going to start getting sick. read more

Whenever I stay on the coast for more than 2 days, I come here to get in my swim. I just can't go longer than that without doing an hour of laps. Both my mind and body need the water! The pool accommodates 6 swimmers and I have never had to wait for a lane. One end of the pool is super shallow, like maybe 3 feet, and it feels a bit strange to swim when your fingers almost touch the bottom but it's a pool, and I need my work out! The water is a moderate temp, around 80 degrees which dpfeels cold when you enter but after two laps, it's perfect. The locker and shower room is clean, which You can't always say about recreational facilities. They allow travelers to use just the showers for $2 and they limit it to a very specific timeframe. If you pay $9 for the day pass, a shower is included. For residents who pay taxes to Seaside, the day rate is $6. Don't worry if you forget your towel, for another $1 they will provide. In addition to the main pool, there is a smaller baby pool and a jacuzzi. I pass on those, not just here, but anywhere. Since I visit Cannon Beach a few times a year, I'm thrilled this facility exists. Right after my morning coffee I take the 20 minute drive to Seaside, get in my swim, shower, dress, and meet back up with my friends to enjoy the afternoon and evening. read more

We took our three kids swimming here while on vacation. In our experience, the staff was friendly, especially the lady at the front desk. They had adequate space and the pool was nice and warm. read more

I have never felt compelled to write a yelp review until now. My family was on a short vacation in Seaside and thought the community pool would be a nice option since our motel didn't have a pool. There are 3 lifeguards that rotate at a time and I have never experienced so much yelling at children approximately every 30 seconds for some kind of offense or violation. The energy between the 2 pools was so overwhelmingly negative. There were roughly 25-30 swimmers and there was not one individual that hadn't made some kind of violation or been talked to about something obscure before the end of open swim. As an example, my 12 year old son was practicing how long he could hold his breath under water and was told this was not allowed. If you choose to swim here, be prepared for the negativity and nonstop corrections. read more

After reading past reviews I was a little hesitant on checking this place out, but it was well worth it! I was greeted by two very nice ladies at the front desk who were friendly and didn't mind answering all my questions. I paid $9 to have access to the pool, showers, and gym! You can't beat that. I mostly was interested in the showers and they were pretty nice for a public area. I would have to say I would rather shower here than planet fitness any day. Didn't mind the kids, they were pretty much in and out of the locker room. To get to the gym you have to go through the pool area. Attached are some images. This place is terrible. It's a gym/community center but only during certain times of the day. If you happen to be using the walk in closet excuse of a "gym" and a trainer decides it is class time they will come up to you, interrupt you mid-work out and present you with an ultimatum: "Stay out of my way as I train, or you are not welcome here." I'd never felt so insulted in my life that an employee of this establishment could be so condescending to a "patron", as she worded it. And that aside, the "gym" ( I call it that with a degree of hesitation...) itself is quite simple. Nothing newer than 2002 equipment wise, and you basically have a Total Gym set up, 3 cardio machines, a Power Tower, and dumbbells up to 50 lbs. This is NOT a place for any seasoned athlete or gym rat. This is a place for retirees who mosey the gym floor and take up space. Skip Sunset Empire, folks. read more

Indoor pool. There were three pools, a lap pool at 70 degrees, a small "baby" pool of four feet depth at 80 degrees, and a jacuzzi pool which was very warm! I went with a friend. We got into the "baby" pool first. Big mistake. You won't want to go into the lap pool after that! We stayed in the 80 degree water in the baby pool which was enough to float on boards and use water dumbells and get some exercise. Later, some small children came in, so we went to the jacuzzi pool. I'm not sure how they charge. My friend is from Seaside, I wasn't. My friend was told $5, and I was told $10, but my friend said something and then I was charged $5, although I did honestly admit I was not from Seaside. I think today the life guards may have been spread a little thin, because we noticed a kid in the lap pool standing on a foam board. We thought that was a bit dangerous as the kid could have fallen and hit his head on the side of the pool. We were surprised nothing was said. There is a slide, but they weren't operating it the day we went. No place to park an RV. Street parking only. I rode here with a friend. read more

This is a fine facility. It is an older smaller facility but very suitable for a good swim workout. I went mid afternoon and at most there were 4 people in 6 lane facility. Pool was 82 today which could be a bit warm if you really pounded the yards. I did 2100 and felt fine. Hot pool at end of workout was a bonus. Locker room very clean w no odors or mustiness. $6 admission a deal. read more

One star because it's a nice facility. Unfortunately, the staff at this pool have no business working with kids. Zero patience, scream at kids non stop, didn't see one staff member smile the whole two hours. I'm sure it's not an easy job but this was not fun. Sad because it's such a nice pool. Someone needs to revamp the staff and all will be okay! read more
