Seaside Golf Course what a place. Let me tell you, this course is an oldie but a goodie, a real piece of Seaside history. It's been there forever. And honestly, with how much Seaside has grown, I'm amazed it's still standing. Land like that near the coast? Very valuable. Very tempting for developers. You look around and think, "How is this not already a row of condominiums and mega homes?" But thankfully, it's still here. Now look, is it perfect? No. The course shows its age. There are some cracks, some rough edges, and sure the clubhouse could use an upgrade. I'd love to see someone put serious money into it. A beautiful clubhouse, some improvements, really polish it up. Because the truth is, this place is a diamond in the rough. What people don't seem to understand in some of these reviews is what this course actually is. They come in, criticize everything, pick it apart and half of them probably don't even know the history of Seaside. This isn't some brand-new luxury resort course. It's something better in its own way: a nostalgic, classic local course where you can actually afford to play. The staff? Friendly. The value? Very good. And let's be honest being able to hit a round of golf right in Seaside is pretty special. Not every coastal town keeps something like this around once development starts rolling in. My biggest hope is that someone smart sees the potential here. Invest a little, upgrade it, polish it up like flipping a house, but for a golf course. Because if the wrong people get it, this could easily turn into another strip of condos and kiddie attractions, and the history would disappear overnight. So I'm giving it four stars. Not five, because yes it needs some upgrades. But for the history, the value, and the simple fact that a course like this still exists in Seaside... that's something worth appreciating. And frankly, we need more places like it, not fewer. read more

Very friendly staff and resonabably priced golf rates. Serves a tastly breakfast, lunch and dinner menu that is popular with locals. Full sports bar, fair weather patio, and practice green. The new owner is putting much effort into improving the greens and fairway quality. Sand traps could use some regular maintainence. First two fairways are still in bad shape, but remember, the rest of the course is in solid playing condition and the hometown feel and reasonable rates of this friendly public course make for a pleasurable experience. read more

We came here for lunch with our son's entire basketball team and their families between games. We had a large group and called ahead to give them a heads up. Very enjoyable 9 hole course. Stay on the fairways or come prepared with plenty of replacement balls. Nicely maintained and fun for the money. Carts are gas powered. If you call for a tee time and don't get anyone a message won't necessarily do it. Best to just show up. Generally the wait isn't too long. Restaurant is great for after play. This place has an attitude problem, plain and simple. If you do try this out be aware, there's a high likelihood you will pay to get cussed out. I consider calling the police after a guy got in our face. He was 5 seconds away from meeting Jesus. We kept our cool and decided to approach management but they told me to take a hike and try somewhere else. So I will, and so should you. We were on the eighth hole and there was a landscaper in the bushes on the left and so I drove the ball. After I drove he came out and started cursing me out because I could've hit him when I was nowhere near him at all. It was an awesome drive by the way (-; I apologized and he continued to curse me out and call me all sorts of things that should not be said in a Gentlemans game. I then spoken to management to let them know and see if they wanted to make it right or at least apologize. I got neither and was told to try gearhart next time. The course isn't even well kept and I can say for a fact that 2 of the managers should have taken their retirement a little earlier. read more

As I always say, it's about expectations. I am mightily surprised by the poor reviews for this course. If you want great golf, drive five hours south and pay $349 to play at Bandon Dunes. Or, if you are in the north coast area, come to Seaside golf course and pay $27 and HAVE FUN. Set your expectations accordingly and you will have a great time. My wife and I came to Cannon Beach for a two week stay in late July. I played the Seaside Golf Course six times (I love golf) and my wife played it three times. It is a nine hole course with decent length (2,500+ yards). I played Highlands once, but found it to be too short for my liking. Regarding the course: The Bad: It's very flat and the greens are not elevated and are fairly small. Some of the fairways areas are dried out with brown grass. Response to The Bad: Of course (pun intended), does it really matter if the the greens aren't elevated? And, since they are not elevated, it's fine to have smaller greens. If your ball ends up on brown grass in the fairway and you don't like your lie, move it!!! And, they are adding irrigation, but it is a small course and takes time. The Good: The greens are in fantastic shape. Perfect grass, good roll, very impressive. A perfect course for my wife to practice on- wide fairways with good roll (her driver doesn't get a lot of height!). A fun course for me to practice on- I used only my 8 iron, 60 wedge and putter and obviously loved it. Personnel: I liked everyone I met. Very friendly and accommodating. I really believe that if you have issues with them, then you should look at yourself (e.g. the guy that said this about an employee: "he was five seconds away from meeting Jesus"). Oh, BTW: The golf course restaurant (Par Tee) is excellent. Great food for a good price. We ate there once for breakfast, twice for lunch and once for afternoon drinks and appetizers. The Bacon Burger was my favorite- truly one of the best I have had. This is certainly the longest review I have written. But, this course deserves a good review. I had the pleasure of Dining in at "The Putter Room", the bar and restaurant with the Seaside Golf Club. While sitting at the bar, I had a wonderful view of the greens, even though it was a rainy day. The Bartender who was helping me was kind, and very helpful. I ordered chicken fried steak with eggs, hashbrowns and toast for breakfast, and had a Shirley temple to drink. Everything was wonderful. The food was cooked perfectly, and the drink was very refreshing and nice. The Patreon's at the bar treated me like I was a friend even though they had never met me before. Overall, the experience was something I enjoyed and I look forward to returning to the Seaside Golf Club! read more

My family has a place in Seaside, and for the last 25 years my Dad and I have always played a game of golf or two during the week of fourth of July. The last time we went was July 6th, 2019. When we went this last year, we had notcied a few changes. The third member of our party was a full time Seaside resident and he had avisied us that there were new owners of the course. We loved the addition of the blue tees, definately more challenging. The course in general looked a little more cleaned up. The weather was great, with a light breeze, couldn't have asked for a better day to golf on the north coast with my 71 year old Dad. At tee number 5 we were greeted by a guy on the bridge with an orange golf cart. After we teed off and cleared the creek he proceeded to tell us to "Hurry up, they're backed up into the clubhouse!" and "Move it along" We looked around and there wasn't anyone playing in front of, or behind us. Our resident friend advised us that this gentleman was the new owner of the course. I'm not sure if he's going to read this review or not, however I'd like to mention a few things. My Dad and I have been playing your course long before you ever purchased it. To tell your returning customers who spend over $100 to play nine holes on your mediocre (at best) course to "hurry up" & "Move it along" on an empty course is just plain asinine, and a good way to lose faithfull customers. Dude it's GOLF!!! It's not supposed to be fast. Sorry we're not the best golfers in the world. What right did we have to think we'd be able to relax and enjoy ourselves? SMH If we've ever felt like we're holding people up, we always let them play through. Sadly I think this time was the last time we'll visit this course. We went to the Seaside Golf Course. The groundskeeper was sitting on a large riding lawnmower mowing the green of hole 1, my son did not see him there and hit a ball towards the green but the ball landed on the other side of the green than the groundskeeper. We stopped playing so he could finish mowing the green. When he was done mowing, he drove his lawnmower towards my son and asked him if he was the one who hit the ball. My son said yes and apologized for it. The guy then proceeded to yell and curse at my son for it. I told him to not to talk to my son like that especially when it was an accident and apologized. He then told us that he owns the course and can talk to whoever however he wants. Instead of owning up to his own behavior, he said that he was sorry for my son's poor behavior. This is horrible customer service especially by an owner that sets the service expectation for his business. read more

My three friends from college and I stopped in for a round of golf while we were on vacation in the PNW/Seaside. Right off the bat we were greeted by a man behind the counter in the pro shop, who could've used a lesson or two in customer service. I would imagine that a small coastal town like Seaside depends on it's tourists to help keep the doors of it's businesses open. You'd think they would treat their patrons a little better. For the price, I would have expected a little more. The course wasn't spectacular, however it's golf at the beach, which by default makes this place good. The staff didn't seem to friendly, the course was far from stellar, it's a cute little course, but it could've used a little cleaning up. I know there's other courses along Oregon's coastline we'll be sure to check those out next time we come to the coast. However if you're in Seaside and feel like you NEED to golf. The fairways are very wide and forgiving of errant shots. Greens are very VERY small and otfen tucked behind large trees killing birdee chances (and greens in regulation). A swift river runs through the course. 9 holes for 2 people on a weekend including a cart for $50! Absolutely loved the purple martins swooping around the cart as we drove down the fairway. Crap shoot on the help though... the guy who booked us was friendly and happy whereas the guy who we checked out with needs to find a job somewhere else... perferably somewhere that doesn't involve working with the public. read more

My mother, grandmother, brother and I came to Seaside Golf Course to commemorate and honor the life of my grandfather, who was a lover of golf and all things Oregon Coast. He played on the course hundreds of times as a younger man. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that everything had changed at Seaside Golf Course, as it is under new management. Worst of all, the man working in the pro shop could not have been more disrespectful toward both my mother and grandmother. When we asked if we could follow my brother on his round of golf, we were given a stark and sarcastic "NO". He even followed us out of the shop and onto the green where the rules were outlined to point it out AGAIN. When my grandmother asked about the man who used to run it, who my grandfather always had a lovely friendship with, he replied with impatience, "He's dead". The way that the management treated my family flies in the face of the spirit of the Oregon Coast-- a place where people come to be together. On top of it all, the course had gone to ruins, says my brother who played an overpriced 9 holes. Needless to say, the place my grandfather once loved is gone.
