My daughter loaded my car full of recycling the night before, unfortunately I woke up late the next morning. I was in a hurry, when I pulled into Sunset recycling they weren't that busy and one of the employees named Sam saw me struggling and brought me the bins as I filled them he drug them over to be weighed in. The gentleman here was a newer face I haven't seen before since the last time I came here 2 months ago ! They have really cleaned this place up not as much trash around no more or homeless smoking and drinking in the area! About two months ago the people who use to work there would rip me off 10$ or sometime even more, and they would not show you the scale so you can't see the wait, and there was times when they didn't give you a receipt.... Upon my visit with this place I had brought 3 huge bags of aluminum cans and was given only 16 dollars for it I believe the workers are pocketing money or skimming somehow that's not right at all and all the dope smokers are there just getting high all the time the place is a total mess I think a good clean up around the area of business should be done immediately and get rid of the strong urine smell. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! Second time they scammed me and didnt realize until after the first time. Second time, I had pre weighed 2 small bags of aluminum and plastics and 1 big bag of aluminum that was over 9 pounds alone! Asked the guy when i got there how many pounds of aluminum the dude said 6. I told them before hand i already weighed 1 bag alone and it was 9. GUY LITERALLY LIED TO MY FACE. Seems like every sunset location in Rialto/ SB is taking money from people and pocketing the difference. There is never receipts for weights and if there is they are incorrect. The owner seems to not care, or even worse, blames the customer and tells the to go else where. This company needs to be shut down, and replaced. They are 2 of the only locations centralized in these cities, and they're taking advantage of that, and the people whole live here. read more

I know this place ripped me off I took the same exact amount of plastics before and got more last time and when I questioned the guy for a receipt of the weight and amount he said they have no receipts right now it's not working and after reading the owners responses to being ripped off by his employees he isn't being accountable not a good place they need to be closed down read more

It's only a recycling center so there's not a lot of expectations going into it. But my few experiences here all the staff have always been very friendly and very quick with their jobs. No complaints and when I got extra recycling I'll definitely be coming here again. read more

They do a great job and on their ad for sunset recycling it says hours vary so that's as general as it can get. These five workers that are usually there are amazing they work hard. They're organized and try to keep it that way. They're super nice each of them, Daniel, Ryan, Richard, Jesus and Mike. The guys try to keep the place running smooth throughout the day and clean it too. It would help if customers would pick up their own stuff and put things back where they belong but the guys do a great job!!!..They pay cash. No complaints. read more

I went yesterday saturday the 27th i dont know whats wrong with whoever is working there they guy smells like he was drunk and i smelled weed, and im pretty sure he didnt pay me the right amount . This place is a scam and needs to be investigated. I had three bins of cans, 6 bins of recycling and only got $22. I went to the city recycling center and they gave me a receipt FOR $29 AND I ONLY HAD THREE BINS OF PLASTIC AND 5 INDIVIDUAL CANS. Not 5 can bins, 5 individual cans. The neighborhood is not desirable but the guy working there was nice. He worked quickly and answered all my questions. Once you are done with the recycling you get a voucher/ receipt that you take into the liquor store next door. The thing that made me the most uncomfortable was the guy working behind the counter. He was friendly but wore no mask and "regular " customers came in with no masks. I felt like I was surrounded by germs. I'm not a person who would normally say anything about that but in these times... if you don't care about yourself fine -care about your fellow man. My son's best friend just got out the hospital after being on a ventilator for 3 weeks. read more

This place a a cheat. I took my 6 year son to teach him about recycling. The guy gave my son $4 out of his own pocket. There was no change. That would roughly be .05 x 80 bottles. The guy definitely short changed me. I had three Costco trash bags full of Kirkland water bottles, and those had a total of more than 80 bottles. I truly hope they are not ripping off the homeless. I will not be going back to this location. Live and learn. Reply to response: Good to know supervisors support their employees here (sarcasm intended). And for the record, I did ask. Took several bags in and got half of what I should have. Confirmed this by going to another place the same day with the same amount of bags. Either the worker is short changing you and pocketing the difference or the owner altered the scale to pay you less. Whichever it is, go somewhere else.
