Service, food and coordination! We Celebrated our Clairton High School 50th Reunion with classmates from 76, 75, 77, 74, 73, and 78. It was such a pleasure to work with Sandy, Jill and Kayla in making the arrangements. All we had to do was select our food, explain our vision, agree to date and time, and sign our contract! They made it so easy for us. The night of the event, everything ran pretty smoothly. The food was excellent, the service exemplary, and a beautiful atmosphere with a lovely ambiance. Taylin, Hanna, and Alayna, along with the entire staff were so attentive but more importantly fun to interact with and the service couldn't have been better. I attended a wedding here as a bridesmaid. The event coordinator, Jill, was unpleasant from the get-go. When our bride was hungry, we asked for food recommendation. She encouraged us not to get food from anywhere else and to "wait it out" for 2 - 3 hours until dinner. The kind bartender offered us crackers and oranges which is all she could do, but was very sympathetic. There were also 3 very SNIDE remarks from her to various people, one was to the photographer, about how the bride "didn't get a rehearsal dinner so (she) has no idea what's going on." Let me be clear, we are all very pleasant and easy going people who have ALL worked various service industry jobs. This set the tone for the rest of the night. Jill failed to do her job of making sure the bride was unseen by guests MULTIPLE times. She also told us, although it was discussed previously, that someone would be able to drive the bride to the entrance of the ceremony area. We were then told it would be impossible, as the car would be seen in photos? There was no argument back, but as we were taking photos, we realized the car would have never been in the photos in the first place. Jill is keeping this nasty attitude. The night goes on, at a steady pace, which did not seem fast enough for Jill. Everything felt rushed, and multiple times Jill was seen rolling her eyes and tapping her feet. Why do you have this job if you lack patience for someone's special day? The icing on the cake for me was the bartending experience. There was a tip jar for cash tips, and a Venmo scan code. The kicker of the Venmo scan code is that the code went to JILL! The wedding COORDINATOR! NOT the bartender! That was absolutely the last straw for me. The bartender was the only person who cared about the wedding and wedding party. Insane that Jill feels entitled to ANY of her tips. The bartender assured me they split them at the end of the night... but for what? The coordinator was NOT behind the bar, was NOT serving drinks. As a matter of fact, she was serving only one thing : major attitude and annoyance. 915 rolls around and Jill is cleaning up everything. The beautiful table my bride neatly put together, all thrown on a tray before the DJ is even done. If your drink as unattended while on the dance floor it was in the trash, and 915 is last call so there's no chance to get another. My bride had a beautiful day, but I would NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE. The ONLY shining star was the sweet bartender, who truly deserves better. Edited to add: my husband just told me about how the chairs during the ceremony were PAINTED! So when everyone stood up they had huge white chalk like marks all over their pants and dresses. This actually forced people to sit on rocks during the ceremony. Another edit: no charcuterie board to the men's suite, and the DATE WAS WRONG ON THEIR BACKDROP (see picture!!!) when brought to Jill's attention, she said "well I'll HAVE to make a whole nother one if you want it fixed" what??? I would be SICK TO MY STOMACH if I messed that up. WOW. The more we discuss the night the more we all have to add. I'm sure this will not be the last edit. read more

I attended a handful of weddings this fall and this was by far my favorite venue. It was a bummer that due to weather the couple had to move their ceremony inside because the outside ceremony spot looked beautiful, but the reception space was really nice and spacious too. Between cocktail hour and dinner, the food was amazing. Our table actually asked the wait staff to stop bringing us the passed apps because we needed to save room for dinner and they were too good to resist. The bar staff did a great job of serving everyone quickly and keeping the line moving. read more

After a long and lengthy few months of trying to come to an agreement with the owner of this facility and her unwilling to be accommodating or show any compassion for others, I feel like others need to hear our experience. When we toured this venue last year we were impressed by the venue (although connected to a sports complex and lack luster from the outside), and were pleased with our experiences with the assistants. We also sat down with one of their selected caterers and picked out our menu (Stratwood was amazing), and were set to get married there this October. With COVID 19 and the global pandemic the world is under presently (and has been since the beginning of March) many things have changed. We, like the majority of the world were subject to layoffs and loss of income. With a wedding fast approaching and us financing our wedding ourselves, we quickly realized it would not be possible for us to pay the remaining $5000+ we owed to the venue for an October wedding that was likely going to get cancelled anyway. As a courtesy to the owner, we sat down with the assistants back in March and explained our situation. The assistants were super sympathetic and assured us the owner would work with us to either downgrade our package to make it affordable or offer us a credit for another event. Seeing as we had already paid $3500 to the venue. Well, the owner had a completely different agenda. Although they had filled our October date (assuming because i have talked to other brides who have been in contact with the venue), she was unwilling to transfer our $3,000 to another event unless we wanted to wait and book a new wedding in 2021 (this is not doable). This venue is out of touch with reality and the current financial state our economy is in. The owner is not someone who is willing to work with you, and this is ultimately going to hurt the business. She offered to let us book another event (bridal shower/baby shower) this year IF WE WOULD PAY FOR A WEDDING PACKAGE. Anyone up for paying $8,500 for a baby shower or bridal shower? Not us! sorry!!! With the global pandemic happening right now, many many companies are having to make exceptions to their policies and procedures for the greater good. It's terrible that this venue is owned by someone who lacks compassion and understanding. Please beware when booking this venue. read more

Was here recently for a wedding. Very good experience. Beautiful decorations, clean facilities, lots of fun! No details regarding prices since I was here as a guest but I enjoyed the experience enough to recommend looking into it! Only issue was they need more highchairs! They ran out but did offer to snag one from another table which seemed to be done with it. read more

Booked the Sunset Room for a work event of approximately 200 attendees. The entire Sunset Room team was excellent to work with - very responsive, helpful, and professional. They took care of everything, including set up and tear down, table dressings, coordinating with the caterer, lighting, decorations, etc. The event went very well, and the space was well decorated/designed to facilitate a lovely evening. I am having my wedding at the Sunset Room. The venue is absolutely beautiful and definitely large enough for my party (about 230). Plus they are willing to work with you on anything you want to make your wedding special and they offer a ton of stuff as part of the wedding packages. We tasted food from the caterer (Woody's) and it was amazing. I recently went to the grand opening they had in December and everything was great, including the band and food. The venue seems to have a lot to offer and we can't wait to have our wedding there! read more

This is a great venue for parties, events, wedding receptions, etc. I've been here several times and I've enjoyed it each time.

Attended the "Grand Opening" and was very disappointed with the food and service. The waiter visited the table 3-4 times very early in the evening, and then not again for almost 2 hours - only after my girlfriend tracked him down to close out our tab (which was required even though we were sitting at an assigned table). The food was delivered by food runners, who did not leave my girlfriend's plate because she was not at the table and nobody else claimed it - even though the ordering process was to write your table number and name on a pre-printed card and check off what you were ordering - so they knew who ordered it, but did not say so. When I got my chicken strips and chips (which were overpriced), the chicken strips were press-formed (think cheap chicken nuggets), and the chips were generic potato chips that had an odd aftertaste. The other big problem with this venue was the table spacing. Their website says the facility can accommodate up to 300, but when they set up the stage and dance floor, there wasn't enough room between the tables for chairs, let alone room for people to move easily. When the tables were occupied, there was no way to fit between them, and had there been an emergency evacuation necessary, half of the guests would not have been to easily escape. read more

Met with Sandy and Terri to plan an upcoming event, they could not have been more helpful and professional and had some great ideas. The facility is beautiful, great technology, and a beautiful granite topped bar (good bar is ALWAYS important!). What I liked best was the flexibility they offered. Lots of places it's a canned package, take it or leave it. At the Sunset Room they were willing to listen and adjust to my needs, very refreshing. Definitely will be using them in the future. read more
