Embarrassingly bad work. Do not bring anything you care about here. On Sat 1/18/25 I dropped off a belt to have it shortened by 1in, and to fix a piece that had a missing staple. I was told to pick it up on Tue 1/21/25 at noon. I arrived to pick it up on Wed 1/22/25 @ 6pm and one of the guys was working on it and told me "it's not ready, the machine is broken, come back tomorrow". What machine? They added glue and cut off one inch of fabric. I ended up picking up the belt on Thurs 1/23/25. I needed a staple replaced and the length shortened. They threw on a glob of glue, and left a huge gap from the end of the belt to the buckle. This was a cheap and hideous "service". If I had known it was going to look like this, I would've closed my eyes, tied one hand behind my back, and done it myself... and it still probably would've come out better. This also cost $25. Expect your things to be repaired poorly, not ready on time, and to be charged not proportionately to the quality of the work. Again, if you have things you care about, this is not the place for you.

Skilled Shoe Repair AND Upholstery Resewing After appreciating Tony's shoe repair shop for 25 years, we found ourselves in need of significant restitching of four 45-year-old leather couch cushions - and failed to recognize the connection. Fortunately, a top SF re-upholsterer (Michael of Venezia Upholstery) recognized the "baseball style" triple-seam would require large-gauge machine sewing repair. He suggested we try a shoe repair shop, "where the real leather experts are." Within minutes of walking into Tony's well-equipped Sunset Shoe Repair shop, he had disassembled part of the leather seam on an example cover we brought in and confidently declared the leather cover repair achievable on machinery. He quoted a MORE than fair price per item, and an insanely fast turnaround time of three business days. He kept that promise, and the quality (plus knowing when to extend repair to vulnerable adjacent seams) was terrific. He took care to hit the old holes and cleaned and conditioned the covers before we picked them up. All good. It's worth remembering this shop if you someday face a leather repair challenge, particularly upholstery. Tony is knowledgeable, skilled, and straightforward in his approach. This was not "restoration," rather a highly practical renewal for a piece of family furniture our two kids grew up playing on.

Legit they are amazing, I got a incredible deal on some gorgeous boots but the flaw was one of them had a broken zipper, I brought it in and not only did he fix my zipper, he walked me through why it broke, and what he did to make sure it won't happen again 10/10 and he finished a day early! Only took 6 days! I don't even leave reviews lol

So pissed! Have an expensive leather Marc Jacobs bracelet that I asked to have resealed on the edges and extra holes put in it since my wrist has grown a bit. He looked at it and told me he could do and it would be nice and easy. Today I went to pick it up and the seal Was done " not very good" but I was like it will work. I paid and went to put it on and realized that the extra holes were in fact not put in it. It still had the pen dots for the holes. So I said this isn't finished. He grabbed it out of my hands and took it over to his bench and punched 3 holes in it. Right then! Came back handed it to me and said here you go. The holes looked like a blind 5yr old did this. Not spaced and one bigger than the others as well as them not being in a straight line! Now it is ruined. A $250 Bracelet ruined! So pissed! I paid for it and will never ever go back here again! Whats really sad is that I have had other things done before and not a issue. Honestly they should be giving my money back and paying for destroying it!

The pair he did do, in front.

Tony did an excellent job measuring the amount of leather, dying it white, and re-attaching my mother's belt buckle.

I've been looking for a gothic style store for a while... sadly, most of SF 'gothic' like stuff is…read moremore fetishwear. Disapointing anyways, this store has some 'designer' level clothing at varying prices that very wildly. Buying a 100 dollar pair of somewhat gothic style pants, the original owner guy I purchased from was kind of cool. we chatted things up, he kind of gave me some pointers for sf fashion spots, talked to me about some of the other items around the shop (including a 1000 dollar concealable leather pouch). I usually like to give things time... evaluate places before sticking with them... so opting to wait on anything else... I make a trip to japan (where I purchased another gothic style pants from the yellow house... which were even more disappointing that Ceiba. Details are in the review I made for them). Also, mind you, both pants are elastic and the material is a little thick, they were both very comfortable. after coming back, I had to get both pants repaired. the ceiba pants I've had to have repaired twice (but it still has more damage on it that I haven't gotten repaired. the pockets are falling apart for one) now while the japanese yellow house pants I've had to have repaired 3 times now. It's rare that I need to have my clothes repaired... mostly its seams coming undone and I can usually fix those myself.... usually... but these were more that the fabric was giving out. the seams were strong but the pants were fraying or giving out around the seams. I cant just sew that back in. I've gone to Ceiba twice to try to talk to them about the material, the pants, repairs... and just to find solutions. the first time for them to give me advice on to handle it myself... and the second time, after SEVERAL times having to pay to get them fixed, to see if maybe the item was just bad or something and finding more vendor and patron solutions. both times it was a woman this time and both times she could not help. I do not recommend people come here for clothes, its a nice name place to show off a bit and pretend to be more socioeconomically established but little more than that.

I came here shopping for outfits for Coachella, and Ingrid went above and beyond helping me put…read moretogether the looks. She was helpful and friendly, provided honest feedback, and was so patient with me. And last but not least, the things they have here are so cool and unique, definitely recommend!
