I brought my wedding dress to Sunshine Alterations and she did a BEATIFUL job on the alterations. I had a short time frame for it to be done and this place could not have been nicer or more professional. Hello my name is Sharon and I want to share my raving experience & review about SUNSHINE ALTERATION!! In August 2014, I needed an emergency alteration on a beautiful gown. It was the most intense experience for me. First I had a dress made in China and shipped to me in the US. My dress arrived one day before I was to leave out of State. It was a most gorgeous dress but it had much more fabric than I realized when I ordered it. It looked like a wedding dress. There was no way I could wear my dress now, but I had no time to get another one on such short notice. The dress would take at least 4-6 months to be altered correctly before it could be worn, but all wasn't lost. Unbeknown to me SUNSHINE ALTERATIONS would come to my rescue. So early in that morning I called several alteration companies but could not reach anyone. So I called SUNSHINE ALTERATIONS and the owner; (one of the sweetest people you will ever meet) actually answered the phone and I told her my dilemma. She told me to come in early that morning and she would take care of it. So I went in and to her and my surprise the work of alteration repair would be nothing less than a miracle to finish in a day. She looked at me with sadness in her eyes and said I'm sorry I don't think I can do this for you today because of the enormous work it entails' as well as my already extensive workload. I replied I understand and I thanked her for taking the time to at least look at it; after running out of solutions to repair it, I was prepared to to accept my fate when suddenly her assistant came into the shop and t happened to be CHINESE!!! The worker said sure we can do it if I help. So together the owner and her worker began working on my dress all day, and by 6:30pm a job that would have taken months to do, after she rearranged her whole schedule to accommodate me and my dress was finished and ready to wear to my event the next day! The dress was stunning and flawless you couldn't even tell where the dress was altered at all. Everyone was in awe! I recommend SUNSHINE ALTERATIONS to anyone who is need of quality work FAST! This place is a life saver for me! I got my bridesmaids dress in the mail on a Wednesday night and had to leave town for the wedding Friday afternoon. I usually go to a place called Kims, so I originally made plans with her. Unfortunately, even though she told me to show up Thurday morning she decided to leave her store (for lunch?) from 10 to 12. Luckily for me, Sunshine Alterations was just a block away! I called to explain my situation and the seamstress (Nissa) told me to bring it on by her store. I told her that I needed it by 12 the next day (it was about 10:15 when I showed up) and she told me it could be done for $50. She was very nice and fast. She called me and asked me to stop by her store at 5:30 to make sure everything fit correctly (in case adjustments were needed), but everything fit perfectly. Even though the dress was pretty complicated with mulitple layers and internal bones (Bill Levkoff 379), I couldn't tell where she made the alterations. I would definitely go back to this place. She did comment that she likes doing jobs that need immediate attention, so I wouldn't suggest taking something to get altered and telling her she had months to get it done. I think she likes the feeling of urgency and importance when doing her job. Just remember that she only takes cash or debit card (there may have been a 3rd form of payment), but no credit card. read more

Awesome prompt service. I needed two partial pieces of material to make one banging dress to wear to a wedding. I knew how I wanted my dress to look on me but I need a master seamstress to bring my vision to reality. All I can say is, I was stunning at my nephew's wedding and received so many compliments on it. I'm giving it 3 stars because I've never had my clothes altered before, and therefore don't know if what I had is the best there is. But either way, it left much to be desired. I carried two pairs of pants to them to take the waist in, and on one have the side seams near the ankle taken in. I gave her about 6 days to do the work. As far as the waist goes, it was taken in, and it fits but for one pair of pants she used a different color thread, allowing me to notice how haphazardly the belt loops were sewn back on. I mean, there's no uniformity like before when I bought the pants. And I'm slightly concerned that all the loose hanging thread will mean the belt loops will come off with a few washes. And it annoys me that she didn't use the same color thread. I get that it's not your standard blue or black jean, but aren't professionals suppose to spend money on supplies? Now the side seams near the ankle, I really didn't notice a difference from when I took the pants there, but there's all this thread loose letting me know she did something. She measured me before she took them in, and I thought the amount she said she was going to take off looked good, but to me it doesn't look like she took off enough. Maybe my eyes are deceiving me. Either way, she didn't ruin the pants, so I guess I'm satisfied in that respect. read more

My review will be an echo of previous ones, but I wanted to add my endorsement to the others. My brother's wedding was two weeks away and my bridesmaids dress would not zip. Avoiding the impulse to panic, I knew it was possible to let a dress out even just a little, I went to what the Internet said was the best rated alterations place in Tallahassee; a place called Helga's. The man there had me try the dress on. He looked at it briefly, said it could not be fixed, and then informed me that "this dress is too small for you." I said thank you very much and left immediately because WHO DOES THAT? You don't tell someone that a dress doesn't fit them even if it's true. In fact this dress was my size it simply would not zip because of my body type and the style of the dress. Anyway, I started searching for somewhere else to go and saw Nazzi had good reviews. And sure enough she looked at it and said she could do it... She even miraculously got it to zip all the way on the spot! She was helpful and spunky and I completely enjoyed everything about her and her business. I will be going to her for all of my future alterations needs and everyone in Tallahassee should do the same. read more
