Our finished and carpeted basement flooded with rainfall coming up through the drain tiles in the last big storm. Javier and his team came out to clean the damage. The basement is divided into 4 rooms and there is a lot of heavy furniture in it. They moved everything, cleaned thoroughly, including closets, stairs and wool rugs and left the entire lower level not only clean from the storm damage, but cleaner than it has been in years. They took our rugs that were exposed to black mold and airborne particles from a sewage/plumbing disaster and had the audacity to return dirty, filthy uncleaned rugs that dumped sand and dirt onto our newly cleaned floors. All they did was wrap them in paper to look like they were cleaned! On top of that, their guys are always smoking cigarettes so everything that is "restored" and "cleaned" comes with a nice stench of smoke. Thank you, Servicemaster. This is the 5th issue we have had with you due to our sewage/plumbing disaster. Let's not forget the time you wanted to charge almost $500 to houseclean the interior of our 1,500 square foot house. I came home to an 18 year old boy with one dirty, purple rag and zero cleaning supplies attempting to "restore" and "clean" one of our bathrooms with warm water. I literally laughed and sent him home and had management call a real housekeeping service. I asked him, "Have you ever cleaned a house before?" He said, "No, the housekeeper didn't show up, I usually steam clean carpets.". Exactly. Am I in the Twilight Zone? Servicemaster, you are the worst company I have ever dealt with. Lastly, the owner's level of arrogance and rudeness is above and beyond. Obviously, he must be a trust fund baby and not be in need of work or there is a monopoly in the restoration field because he is anti-customer service and anti-respect on top of their shoddy work and unprofessionalism. I just got a call from her that she cannot clean my house as she does not come out this far. "I thought you were in Detroit." Obviously I am not when I gave you my address and city a week ago and I've been in constant contact with her confirming everything. The woman answering the phone was lovely and said the charge would be 250.00 for a 2000 square foot house. The house was not very dirty at all. One girl showed up and worked for a while an hour later the second worker showed up. They must have left right after I did because I had to totally clean the house after they left. They didn't move items, they wiped around them. The floors had spots of dirt and the sink didn't look like like the touched it. Be careful about hiring this company they were not what they claimed to be.

Overall the porch looks nice but it wasn't worth the hassle we had to put up with to get it done. Very disappointing because we really liked the guys that did the work; they were very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently, and we had hoped to use them for future projects. We understand that stuff happens, concrete is a science, and we were told immediately that the problem would be fixed to our satisfaction. We didn't appreciate having to fight for months to make that actually happen.

Like other reviewers here, I found Greg to be very likable, responsive and enthusiastic while he…read morewas bidding for my business. I decided to give this young upstart a chance and had Pro-Active perform some very extensive masonry work on my home in June totaling over $10,000. The job was scheduled a few weeks out and once it had begun, his crew worked pretty hard to get it all completed in a few days time. Greg did a great job securing some reclaimed brick which closely matched the existing split face brick on my 2 chimneys which needed rebuilding. Greg was very proud of his extensive knowledge on color matching mortar, however I was NOT impressed with the way the tuck pointing mortar color turned out on my mortar joints. He said it would lighten up and blend in better after it 'weathers' for a few months and if not, he would come back and re-do that work. The last part of the job was to remove and replace two front window sills. The limestone was measured and cut correctly however, after they packed up and left, I noticed one of the sills was not aligned properly and not quite flush with the house. Greg said that was an easy fix and that he would come back and re-set the sill. That was 5 months ago !! Any respectable contractor addresses customer concerns and issues before, during and after the job. Like other reviewers here have experienced, Greg will not respond to phone calls or text messages once he has your money. Such a shame - a simple one hour fix would have certainly changed my opinion. It's too late in the season to do any outside masonry work due to freezing risk and I now have a window sill that can't be sealed (aluminum trim) and will probably leak snow and water throughout the winter. Successful business owners stand behind their work, respond to their clients and take reasonable measures to assure their customers are satisfied. Greg clearly does not subscribe to these business principles as he exhibited none of these characteristics with me. I surmise that Pro-Active Masonry will not succeed - just another 'take the money and run' company. Does anyone know of a reputable mason I can get to come out and fix Greg's shoddy workmanship ??
