This is going to be long.... I'm not quite sure what brought me to Sunshine Corners. I would almost call it serendipity, but I was certainly searching for something, I just didn't know exactly what. I had a day off and had spent the earlier part of it wandering, looking for any remaining independent produce stands, butcher shops, or just something that felt like it would nourish and heal me because I had been feeling....well? physically, emotionally, existentially, and psychologically, like absolute crap. Historically I've spent years independently studying nutrition and biochemistry, herbalism and traditional medicine, but over the years I'd strayed from those things and lost my way. All this to say I may have forgotten some things but I recognize when someone else knows their stuff. I wandered into Sunshine Corners, originally for a good sandwich and maybe some produce. What immediately struck me was how comforting this place was, and how much it felt like the old school apothecaries or coop's before they became adulterated by mainstream capitalist influences. Stay with me here. I overheard Tony talking to one of the people at the front desk and immediately realized "ok, that guy knows his stuff". Meekly, when he had a moment, I walked over to him and basically, in a sort of desperate manner, laid out my litany of aches and pains and mysterious ailments, expecting an abrupt hand waving answer. That is not what I got. Tony spent what might have been somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour with me, patiently asking me questions and pulling out reference literature. He recognized things in me that no one else had been able to see, and pointed me in a direction that has allowed me to focus on actually getting better rather than just collapsing in frustration. Tony, if you're reading this, the time you spent helping me meant so much to me. Your years of wisdom made a huge impact, but more importantly, your humanity. read more

It's a fantastic store. Incredible variety of supplements, foods and even a quaint little deli where the food seems prepared with great care. I would love to give it 5 stars and expected to feel a 5 star visit. I have been told over an over by friends to talk to Tony, and so, this time, I did. I had needs, based on a protocol that I researched, and Tony offered alternatives, claiming them to be superior. When I pushed back sticking to items I was more sure about, he seemed put-off, stand-offish. The store was super busy, people asked him for advice, he handed them bottles, they paid and left. It was a little weird. I didn't mind at all that he went off to help others, but he avoided contact with me from there out. As I was leaving after spending nearly $200 cash, I shouted, "Thanks Tony," and his "bye" was somewhat of a good-riddance. a couple days later; the one alternative that I took his advice on, I reacted horribly to. When I called the store to find out if he had a specific brand I wanted, he shiftily attempted to sell the same one I reacted to already, so I explained that I bought that one on his suggestion and reacted horribly. He was quite aloof, saying [the brand I wanted was] "not right, now" [in stock]. It's not that I won't shop there anymore, but I don't feel welcome, and will consider other options moreso now, but for sure will not be engaging with Tony when I do. I go out of my support local businesses that don't have political pull. Don't get me wrong... I witnessed that Tony is super kind to those that take his advice. His customers are his fans. I just feel shafted. Maybe he can recommend a cream for that ;) read more

Nice little health food shop with reasonable prices. Staff were helpful and mostly knowledgable. There are a *lot of vitamins and suppliments here plus food and other items. They pack a lot in a small space. We stopped in to pick up suppliments depleted during our travels. If we need to restock other vitamins or suppliments during our stay in the area we will return here. read more

I was having a hard time finding a product and when I called Sunshine Corners, they didn't have it either, but they were very helpful and offered to place a special order for me. I did not expect that at all. They even said they have to order it by the case but told me not to feel obligated to purchase more than I felt I needed. If the product works out, I will of course go back and buy up what they special ordered. What a gem of a place. I will for sure be visiting them for some of my health needs. I can't believe this place is so close. Im very pleased with the service and organization of the store. The person running the front desk gave me space but was available when i needed help. There was lots of options of each product so I wasn't stuck between two choices. Not only does this place have reasonable products and lots of options but they have local produce. I will be coming back. They also serve sandwhiches but i didnt have a chance to have some. They smelled great though. read more

Sunshine Corners is AWESOME. It's an unassuming little store, located a couple of doors down and in the same strip mall as Bear Arms. The primary reason for coming here is the knowledge and experience of the owner and staff. They have answered every question I've posed to them over the years on the spot and I always marvel at how much they know about everything they sell. I was recently unable to find my husband's multivitamin (recommended by his physician) for sale anywhere. Sunshine Corners staff knew why I was unable to find it, how long it would be until we might see some more in production, and what a good substitute would be based on the specific qualities of the vitamin. Seriously, just go in and tell them what you need or what ailment you're looking to treat - they'll know where to point you. They have an awesome little deli with fresh sandwiches and soup, along with a selection of dry pasta and other food items (don't forget to try a truffle). They are super friendly and customer service is always great. Prices may be a little more than you'd find elsewhere, but you're really paying for selection, knowledge, and personalized service. They do have a punch card system and every time I go, I get a $5 or $10 discount depending on how much I spend which is always great. Hours are good, but take note - they are closed on Saturdays; however, they are open on Sundays. read more

Been coming here for years! Tony and his Mom are so helpful. They both are very knowledgeable of all products in the store. There is also a fantastic deli in the store that is open M-F until 4pm. Great place to stop and grab a Healthy prepackaged snack or beverage. I drive 40 min from my house to come here, I like it here that much! All of the staff is helpful and friendly. Tony, the owner and guy behind the counter is SO knowledgeable! His mom owned the store before him so he grew up learning about healthy, non- prescription ways to help your body and symptoms. Whether you have the every day common cold, to more extreme medical conditions, stop by and pick his brain. I had a bone infection for 6months and the wound wasn't closing up and the word amputation was starting to be thrown around. I honestly think his recommendations on what to add to my very day routine and wound helped save my foot! This past summer I stopped in bc I had been eaten by mosquitoes and NOTHING was giving me relief of the itching. I was about to get on a plane & was desperate for something so I could sit still. This place is so absurdly expensive, rent couldn't possibly be that high for this area. If another health foods store popped up close by it would put this antiquated store out of business. I am disappointed that the individuals that own this establishment have the audacity to charge as much as they do for vitamins and health foods. Unfortunate. I was there for first time and last time i guess. Went there for Goat Milk. Found 1/2 gallons bottle. One old lady was there with white coat. Didn't ask anything to her but she act like she had a bad day. Didn't ask for price wanna buy some other stuff i just picked up milk suddenly she told me this is for $$ much i was like I don't care about price and m not at the register yet. M like never mind there is lots of other places for Got Milk and i left. Found good stuff in Trader joes close to this small market. read more

I have to give a shout out to Tony at Sunshine Corner's Nutrition. Anytime I have some sort of ailment I go there and he helps me fix it NATURALLY! I called this morning at 8:30, knowing they don't open until 10, Tony answered and told me to come on over! For the past 4 days my eyelids have been covered with a rash and they have been swollen and itchy, no fun! Turns out they are burnt, possibly from chemicals in our water. He gave me some distilled water to wash my face and a Hyaluronan serum to apply twice a day. I put it on when I got home, instant relief! If you're ever looking for a natural way to heal something, need vitamins or supplements or just have questions, this is the place to go! We have been customers for at least 8 years, if not more.
