I came here for the first time during COVID and had to have both of my upper Wisdom teeth pulled. Amazing experience here. I was surprised they didn't have to put me to sleep. Dr.D is the best dentist you will ever find!!! Ive gone to him for a few years, taken my husband, daughter and my mother in law and everyone loves him! I made the horrible mistake of trying another dentist in town due to my schedule and it was a huge mistake!! I wont speak ill of the other office but I will say that Ill never go to anyone other than Dr D again. He is so gentle and kind and really knows what he is doing!! I agreed with Dr. Deragobian to work in certain teeth and I Received documents with work on different teeth and Sunshine Dental didn't give me the discounts that I'm entitled with my Delta Dental Insurance policy. I had to file a grievance with Delta Dental and still the lady at billing said she was never going to refund the money they owe me. Went to Dr. D and his assistant Daisy for my cap to be put on. Totally love this dentist office. If you want "NO PAIN", then this is your dentist. 2 weeks ago, I knew I needed the dreaded root canal. Yes, I heard of all those war stories of so much pain. But with Dr. D, there was no pain at all. I totally recommend this fine man and his staff for all your dental needs. Normally I finish with a dentist and then I never return because of the pain they caused. Usually around 10 to 15 years later. But I will be there for my next appointment in 6 months. I love Dr D. however, front staff has changed. Unresponsive when I asked for some help regarding a recent crown that was left open due to it being so shallow. I was in horrible pain, off and on. I work full time and can't just drop everything and go in and wait for 3+hours before I will be seen, and they do not call the DR to ask him to help. Also if you leave a message, you will not get a response until you call again. So if you have problems, you will get no help unless you go in and wait to see the Dr . Their advice is to come in and wait on a day they handle emergencies. I've never had a dentist who would not want his staff to contact him about issues with a recent procedure. When I persisted one day for some assistance, they said they would pull my chart and look to see if there is any suggestions. They could not even read my chart correctly, and were surprised when I had to tell them what was done. I had work done before, and no issue, so this was the first time I had pain and discomfort. I really felt ignored and treated like I was just complaining for no reason. I will most likely change Dentists. read more

Well I'm sorry to say this but I have to say I'm disappointed in sunshine dental. I went in there about 6 months ago and needed some work done. Now I am disabled and I use a wheelchair for my mobilty device. Dr. D was nice and so was the front desk help. But they took my insurance which is PPO and well never got back to me. I tryed to contact them numerous times to only be told they will contact me. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM. So I had to go elsewhere for my service that they had no problems with my insurance. Then here recently I tryed to contact them again cuz I needed more dental work done. I spoke with their after hours receptionist and told her how I felt like I was being discriminated against possibly cuz I'm disabled and needed to co.e in on a chair. She said she would forward this to those in front and share my thoughts with rhe.. This is over a week ago and still no call back. . I GUESS IM CORRECT IN ASSUMING THEY JUST DONT WANT TO HELP A DISABLED PERSON. Very sad if something. Very bad service to not get back to person that came to your astonishment looking for service. . First visit went well... he was quick as office was busy. We agreed on a plan of attack. I made a follow up apt. When I arrived for that apt, they informed me I was not scheduled until the following week....obviously their wrong. I placed the apt on my calendar in the office in front of receptionist. Then she brings out a sheet showing the upgraded cost to crown one tooth... never discussed during first apt. I am dirt poor. I could have saved a lot of trouble if they would have told me about the upsale not covered by insurance. Here is the bottom line..... This dentist thinks everyone wants to send him on a Tahiti vacation. That may have been harsh but if your under financial stress don't bother with this guy. Insurance covered the work with different materials. His claim is he wants to do a good job. My claim is I can't afford his upsales. He should have been forthright about my costs. For some it is the difference between healthy teeth and sickness. No money, no help here. The insurance plan dictates he must follow what is covered. He refused to put in covered materials in preference for high cost materials and that is a violation of the insurance providers policy. Hope this helps others looking for a dentist that is really trying to make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. He could have a give back plan or an assistence program but he's obviously not that kind of dentist. This speaks nothing to his talent. He could actually be a very fine dentist. If you're looking for good honest work, Dr. Deragobian is who you want to go to. He takes pride in all his work, has great chair side manors and really takes the time to get to know all his patients. He even offers emergency walk ins and that alone speaks volumes because you hardly find dentist who do same day treatment, especially without an appointment! His work is worth the wait (trust me, his office gets packed daily). I know a lot of people complain when they have to wait even with an appointment but Dr. D is cleaning teeth, doing crowns, implants, fillings, dentures, treatment plans all at the same time! My suggestion is if you're a new patient, expect to be there a while but also expect that he won't kick you to the curb or make you reschedule to start any treatment that is diagnosed! I've been a patient for years and just now writing this review. I live out of state now but will always make an appointment with Dr. D anytime I'm in town. I have two crowns he put in that are perfect, and my husband has an implant on his front tooth that Dr. D also did. We love him and will always be our go to dentist. read more

Most people do not enjoy visiting the dentist. I am one of those many people. Dentist is always scary! The smell, the wounds, the cost! I was dreading the dentist after I broke a filling. I know I had to go ASAP or I'd be sorry later. My husband had previously gone to Dr.D for an extraction and he said he was nice so when I broke my filling I decided to come see Dr.D too. First off, the receptionist is very friendly and smiley! That helped calm some of my nerves. Nothing makes a medical/dental worse than rude mean employees. I was called back and seen pretty quickly. Dr.D was so nice and sympathetic. He did not shame me at all for the state of my teeth. I've gone back twice now and will be coming back to this office for all my future work!!! read more

I've called for emergency due to my crown falling off and being on Saturday, the Assistant was just closing, and took the time to give me information and booked me for Monday morning. Monday morning was greeted by the same lady that was very nice and introduced me to the Dr Bhakta that was very knowledgeable and explained my options considering that I just found out that my tooth broke and must be pulled, to say the least I was very worried, the Dr. was so compassionate and made me feel very at ease, 2 days later had the tooth pulled (felt absolutely no pain) and I must say, I've never felt so comfortable and trusting of a Dentist. I will highly recommend Dr. Bhakta, he's my dentist now, even tho he's little far for me, but I know I'm in good hands. Thank you so very much for the excellent experience! read more

Needless to say, I returned to Dr. D when i was in so much pain and just couldn't handle the corporate place anymore. This man is hands down the best. My appointment was made for 11 am & I was not seen until 12:30. It took the doctor 5 minutes to clean my teeth- I was told I needed more than a regular cleaning. X-rays were taken of my teeth, but not photos. He did not check my current fillings, but told me they were all fine. They did not take any gum measurements. The cleaning & laser treatment on two teeth- did not happen to be covered by my dental insurance- he & his staff spent 15- 20 minutes tops & I waited total of 2 hours sitting- charged me $200. I will not be going back. He is also NOT a board certified dentist or I would be filing a complaint. read more

As someone with exceptionally bad teeth, I tend to spend a lot of time in dentists offices (I joke that they are doing their 3rd lap around my mouth - and I'm not really exaggerating!). And as someone who moves frequently, I've had the opportunity to sample a wide array of dentists. From TJ to Central Coast CA, I've sampled a dentist in what feels like every county! And I have to say, although I've only had two visits with him so far (and my wife has had one), I'm highly impressed with Dr. Aram. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I've enjoyed working and speaking with them. And Dr. Aram is very personable, and seems highly competent and thorough. I'd have given the office 5 stars based solely on my interactions with the staff or doctor, even assuming a normal standard of care and billing practices... but it's in those last two areas where Sunshine Dental shines the brightest. In terms of billing, with my experience so far, Dr. Aram's office charges exactly within my insurance's co-pay guidelines, and there has been absolutely no pressure, no gimmicks, no hidden or unexpected prices, and no deviation from my insurance coverage. It's sad to say, but it's probably been 20 years since I've been able to make that statement about a dentist's office! (In San Diego in particular, I went through 3 dentists, who often tried to charge me double or triple what my co-pays should be - and in one case, they wanted nearly $1,500 for what was supposed to be a $325 copay). In terms of standard of care, the doctor does several small things which I have experienced in a few other high-standard dentist's offices. As one example, the doctor uses anti-bacterial medication both during and after procedures. I have seen this in other dentist's offices as well. The difference? Those other dentists often charged $75-$100 or more for a swish of the medication, making me feel like it was a way to swindle me out of money (especially since insurance doesn't cover it, and those dentists made it mandatory). Dr. Aram includes it as part of his standard of care, making me feel as if he cares about the well being of his patients. Anyway, the bottom line: I find Dr. Aram and his staff to be friendly, trustworthy and competent, and believe they have exhibited a desire to put their clients' needs above squeezing out every last cent of profit. And in my eyes, that's exactly what I want from my dentist! read more

If you're looking for an honest, trustworthy, efficient, and affordable Dentist ~ this is the place to go! We've been searching for a good Dentist for my parents for a long time (they don't have insurance, so price was a big factor). After being told by another dentist they were in need of thousands of dollars of work, we went searching for a second opinion. We found this place via yelp, and decided to give them a try. Not only are they super easy to get to (great location), but their office is really nice and clean. From the minute you walk in, you can tell they totally have their act together. The staff was very well organized. The Dentist was so warm, friendly, and very attentive to our situation. Upon further review, we were relieved to hear the information we had previously been given was completely false and only minimal work was required. The Dentist was so kind, even though it was late in the day, he offered to start the work asap, and did a fantastic job! They have the latest of equipment but their prices are so fair. They even do payment arrangements. Instead of overly focusing on cosmetic procedures as many over priced Dentists do, he focused on priorities and good dental health. Very Honest and trustworthy. Doesn't best around the bush and will tell you what is happening step-by-step. He's willing to gladly answer any questions. My first few months I mostly dealt with his assistants, and didn't see him at all (although I had asked to speak to him every time and I was denied by his staff for 4 visits in a row) One time I was told by Dr Deragobian himself, in the hallway, that be wanted to speak with me before I left, and when I mentioned this to the assistant she told me "No you don't, you're done, I'll see you up front to schedule your next appt" Dr. Deragobian did a great job with making my upper denture (which was difficult due to my bite) although he has not done any dental work on me yet. (His assistants did all the impressions) I've been complaining about 3 cavities in my lower teeth for the 3 months I've been going there and have been dismissed about my pain and deteriorating teeth until after they finished my denture and I made an appt regarding my lower teeth. They finally took some xrays last week. (But neglected to actually look inside my mouth at the teeth in question) The cavities are along the gumline. I can see them and I can feel them with my tongue. I would've liked to have had these teeth and my concerns taken seriously regarding my lower teeth from day one, but was always ignored and now the teeth are really bad to the point beyond saving. As much as I like Dr Deragobian, I feel I might need to switch to a dentist who is more attentive to my pain and immediate concerns. read more

Nice enough place and people, and prices were fair. I had a tooth pulled which was a bit more complicated than usual due to the tooth cracking. During the procedure the dentist put an instrument at the juncture of my lip and gum inside my mouth which caused great discomfort. I asked the dentist to remove it and he did. But he put it back shortly later and I had to ask again and he complied. He did the same thing a third time and now I was in pain from the constant rubbing of the instrument on my inner lip and gum. When I got home I discovered he had actually lacerated that area and created an open sore that was far more painful than the area where the tooth was removed. I can't recommend this guy because he didn't seem to care about his patient's comfort or welfare. read more

Dr. D and all of his staff are incredibly friendly, and very knowledgeable. They are responsive to emergencies, and will do just about anything to "squeeze" emergency patients in. Not only is the quality of the work Top Notch, but so incredibly reasonable in price, that you will be shocked. I came to Dr D from a local "Dental Mill" that scheduled over $14k in work, and after a full examination by Dr. D, his estimate was a couple of filling, and a single root canal and crown. I chipped a tooth this week and with no insurance, I didn't know where to go. A friend recommended Dr D and I am sooo very grateful! The staff there is the friendliest of any I have ever dealt with. The office and rooms are clean and current. They do take walk ins and accept cash thank goodness. Dr D did a great job fixing my tooth after giving me options to choose from.
