Clinically, the dentists employed by this group are competent. However, the gentleman at the front desk has a massive attitude, and over the years has continuously given me attitude and shamed me over my dental care. After a failed dental procedure on the part of this particular dentist, I now have a gap where a crown should be. After attempting to communicate with the office manager on six separate occasions, with no response, to receive my medical recommendations, I received a letter that I will no longer be under the care of this dentist. The decision, however, was already made when the front desk person lied and illegally claimed that a missed appointment would be reported to my insurance, and my insurance could be canceled. This is the kind of lie, deception, and even possibly extortion that will eventually cause this dentist's office to lose Medi-Cal funding. I was denied care after canceling an appointment due to the death of my aunt. I received no compassion, no accommodation, only rudeness from the front desk. Not to mention the ILLEGAL threat which has been recorded, documented and submitted to MediCal/DentaCal. You should be very careful who you choose to lie to, because I can very easily have Medi-Cal funding cut from your place of business, which would leave you with no job. So, though you denied my further care, I had no intent of going back, even after being left with an incomplete dental procedure, which is your fault, the fault of the dentist, not my own. For those considering between one ghetto dentist in Hemet, San Jacinto area, or the other, definitely don't choose this one. Not only will they leave you with an incomplete dental procedure, no follow-up, no returned calls to provide me with my dental records, a threat that I will lose my medical insurance (which could affect other areas of my life), but also general rudeness, lack of empathy, and also illegal activity. I would recommend not choosing this dentist office, and also be very careful when uneducated, unintelligent front desk staff try to intimidate or threaten you with missed appointments by telling you that you will lose your medical care. I would also not recommend this dentist if you're on Medi-Cal, because I will now actively be communicating with Medi-Cal and the ombudsman that I work with to have the Medi-Cal funding taken away from this dentist. A simple misunderstanding is one thing. A bold-faced lie, threat, and intimidating remark from an uneducated front desk minimum wage worker is a completely different story and violates many mandates, which Medi-Cal takes very seriously. This message is to current and future potential patients, as well as to the dentist. If you do not remedy the situation, you will have a lawsuit on your hands. read more

My wife called ahead to schedule our son's 9:00am appointment and was told everything was good. After driving 50 minutes to get there, we were informed that our HMO insurance is not accepted. This should have been verified during the phone call, especially when scheduling the appointment. Gas and time are not cheap, and it was very frustrating to make that trip for nothing. This place is amazing!!! I'd give them 100 stars if I could. I refused braces as a teenager and regretted it. I've always been self conscious about my teeth and as an adult I never smiled. I'm 50 years old so that's a long time. I don't like going to the dentist because it always hurts. I was referred to Diamond Lake Dental and canceled my first 2 appointments because of the fear I've had of dentists since a child. My wife talked me into finally going and I was completely shocked after the first appointment. I've never had a novocain shot without pain but Dr. Soler knows something other dentists don't because I never felt a thing. I ended up getting 6 root canals and 6 crowns on my upper teeth and not once was I in pain. And the final result was amazing. When they placed the crowns to see how they fit they handed me a mirror for me to take a look. I literally had tears rolling down my cheeks when I saw them. Doctor Soler saw my tears and she teared up as well because she saw how happy I was. She is a dentist who truly cares about her patients. Horrible experience. Went in for a root canal and 3 days later the "permanent" filling had fallen out leaving me with a huge HOLE in my tooth. Called and explained the situation and was able to get a same day appointment. Once they took a look and saw the hole the dental assistant stated they could not fix it. That since it was a referral only my primary could do permanent fillings. I asked her why they did the filling if they weren't suppose to and she just said "oh one of the doctors likes to do them" Why would they do something they weren't "suppose" to do. I brought my son here needing a consult. And this was the dirtiest office I have ever been to. The cabinets were falling off the hinges with stickies warning people! The vest they place over my son to do X-rays had someone else's blood on it. The Dr came in telling me she can do the oral in plant for my son in the next couple weeks. Dr Skinner office was good when I had good insurance. After 18 mo of no insurance I went back to office and everything had changed. The Dr. wanted to do a lot of unnecessary procedures and the front office staff is VERY RUDE and INCOMPETENT. I had to file a grievance against then with my insurance company, and then a month later to re-enforce their incompetence and greedyness they attempted to bill my current insurance company for procedures completed and paid for 3 years ago. I believe my current insurance co. reported them to the state for their actions towards me. They tried to tell me I needed dentures and it would cost me over $19,000 for the upper. WTH? No way. When I asked for the estimate for my insurance co they became very rude towards me. I walked into the office on a Monday am because I had a tooth chip off over the weekend. At first they said they would see me immediately so while I was waiting I asked for printed estimate....all of a sudden my appt was scheduled to the next day. The following day they told me it was rescheduled to Wednesday, I show up and office is closed because dentist is out golfing (or whatever excuse they use for closing mid-week) at this point I filled another grievance with my insurance co. I've notice in the past 6 mo the office has changed names and seems to be begging for customers. Even when I was a patient there I noticed there were never any other patients, the waiting room always empty and 1/2 the exam/treatment rooms are dark and empty. Dr. Skinner really needs to reign in his front office staff, they're out of control, rude, use deceptive billing methods, and tried to bill for procedures preformed and paid for by another insurance co 3 yrs ago to a new insurance co. Visiting a dentist office can be a rigorous task for anyone to undertake. The Staff at Diamond lake dental displayed exemplary customer service, making sure I was consistently informed of the treatments being rendered. Before my appt at Diamond lake dental, I was told that I could not receive invisalign, Dr Skinner and his great staff took a chance on me and I was able to receive the necessary care for invisalign. The front desk staff fostered a comfortable environment for all of their patients, I could not speak better of this office. read more

The staff and Dr Skinner were all nice and helpful. My husband has been to 3 dentists in the past five weeks, getting exams and ex-rays. Our old dental office changed dentists and they were too far so we were shopping for another dentist...The bottom line was this: Dentist #! took our insurance and wanted $1,000.00 for a few crowns and a few fillings but was located 100 miles away. Dentist #3 wanted $2,000.00 but didn't accept our insurance (that's why it was a higher price for the same work). Dr Skinner wanted us to pay (with our insurance) over $5,000.00, for loads of treatment the other two dentists said he didn't need. Deep perio cleanings that were NOT needed, and crowns that he didn't have to have. Sure, if we wanted everything replaced with new crowns because the old ones were not perfect,I could understand. But we only wanted to fix the stuff with decay that REALLY needed fixing. Even the perio measurements he charted himself were about 2 mm deeper than what the other offices charted. I wouldn't go there again unless I had a raging toothache and no one else was available. read more

Everything went well except they charged me 90 dollars for irragation which they did not do the hygienists should of told the front office to not charge them when I ask they wanted to do it right then but the hygienist said the pockets were clean and no bleeding so why would you irrigate?
