Baskets and carts available. Lots of peaches of course. But also some other fruits and vegetables. All looked good and they were bringing out more from the back. Several cold cases with bagged and packaged items including sauerkraut cheeses and butter and soft drinks. Lots of pickled, canned items (Mason jars) and dip mixes. Some metal yard art sculptures, cute pots for plants, tee shirts. Then if you go inside there's an ice cream counter and some baked goods, and you can order sandwiches. There are lots of tables so you can eat there or get it to go. One whole side of the store is now retail items such as clothes, cups, stuffed animals, keychains, jewelry, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food came out pretty fast. Price a little steep but they were pretty big sandwiches and they were good. My mother got a Club on white and I got the Holy Guacamole on sourdough. They did make a couple errors. They switched the bread, so my sandwich came out on white and my mother's came out on sourdough. There were also no sprouts on my sandwich. No mention that they were out of them so assuming they forgot. But both sandwiches were very good so not a big deal. Place was clean and tables were being cleaned and items were being swept up as needed.

They are also really nice and will take time to educate you about what they sell. We first went there to buy our own bread making supplies and equipment and they took time to educate us about the process. They are just off of Redland Road so they are only about 15 minutes from some parts of Lake Martin. Call ahead to make sure they are open but Saturdays are a great day to go all year. Let the kids feed the goats as you get your own locally made organic food.

If you are short on time or just don't feel like doing easy labor, ha, they have a farm stand with all these already picked for sale as well. They take cash or check. Living in Florida, I later ordered a few jars, and everything went smoothly. This week, I placed a new, larger order and the box arrived with a shattered jar of peanut butter from shoddy packaging. I'm a pretty sophisticated internet shopper, and in my experience, retailers have always shipped a replacement item or issued a refund in situations like this. Here, the burden was fully put on the consumer to create a USPS account and file a claim, which is actually pretty time consuming (e.g., taking screenshots, resizing photos so that they're compatible with the USPS system, emailing with Medders to get documents, etc.). Indeed, there are many customers who would not have the technology even to file a claim. Since the insurance associated with the package was included in the USPS shipping fee which I paid (plus some), this practice allows Medders to keep the full amount of my purchase price but has me deal with the frustrating effects of their poor packaging. What's more, customers cannot even file a valid claim without documents from Medders, which the business does not readily have available. Very disappointing. I get that they're a small operation, but don't hold yourself out as a legitimate business if you're not going to act accordingly.

We were surprised to see the newest residents, capybaras that arrived only two weeks ago. We could have spent the entire day watching the playful antics of the adorable capybaras playing in the water and also on land. Another favorite were the kangaroos. A baby Joey was in and out of his mother's pouch. Adorable and so much fun to watch. The driving part was truly an experience. Our vehicle was approached by llamas, zebras, buffalo, and deer seeking food from the buckets we had purchased in the gift shop. The animals roam freely throughout the hundreds of acres. The camels tried to grab the entire bucket of food! We had to hold the buckets tightly while they ate from them. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful, happy to discuss the various animals. The entire experience was very educational. We spent several hours here and truly would have enjoyed staying the entire day if we could have, but had previously scheduled another engagement. We want to return and bring other friends along for the experience.
