This is my favorite nursery. They have the best pricing and an insane amount of different plants. I love that they have such a big selection on fruits and veggies and herbs!! If I could leave a zero I would. Went to buy fruit trees today and when we pulled in there was an employee in a golf cart and another person in a car close to the entrance, blocking the path to park. The employee in the cart did not move, instead he looked at my wife and I then got out of the cart and walked up to the car and started talking to them through their passenger window after about a minute he gets back in his cart and drives off without looking at us. The only thing I could think of was we were black and he was white and he didn't give a hoot. We parked and looked around for a minute then said screw this place. As we we were walking back to our car he was bringing plants to an older white woman car he wished a good day and walked passed us without looking. They lost a customer today. Customer service was terrible, condescending as if I know where your supplies are stored and upon a return of unused intact bags of top soil they will only do store credit of which is not clearly posted. I like to support local business but with the lack of customer service and ridiculous policies it's easy to shop elsewhere read more

Sunshine Nurseries is one of our go to plant places. This location has been a nursery for decades, but is now owned and operated by Sunshine. This is a regional chain nursery retailer. While this location can only be entered going northeast bound on Yucaipa Blvd, it is somewhat large for a nursery located in the city. As a small chain it has the advantage of availability of products from small sizes to bulk quantities. Their outdoor plant prices can be quite competitive. Once there plan on doing some walking - the amount of plants they have is multiple of what the big box stores have! I have found the yard staff to be helpful. This place can get busy, so please be patient. This is a tough business. I've shopped plants and landscaping materials for decades. And market conditions and wholesale suppliers can make a big difference at the retail level. So it's best to do your homework, and visit many nurseries. Remember to plant the right plant in the right place - which may take some looking. I'd keep Sunshine on my list of places to look. read more

After bragging about this place to my husband, we Stopped to get a few plants for our garden.... they had very few veggie plants.....the shelves were almost empty.... the man working the front end said they were expecting a delivery.....I sure hope soooo & soon....the people of Yucaipa must of been very busy planting their gardens....... Well i have been waiting to write this review, and now that spring is approaching im gonna write it. I moved to Yucaipa over a year ago, love plants, i have many, i purchased MANY plants from their nursery in a few months time, thousands of dollars. Well one of those visits, i was checking out, they were closing, i was waiting on an Uber, they had me wait out at the street, was a bit put off by that but i let it go and continued to be a patron. I was there pretty often, usually once a week. Then i go in one day for some lady bugs because i had some aphids on my roses, 10$ lady bugs, and the lady, i forgot her name, charged my card for 800$! And then when i told her i was on my way to pay my bills she said "sorry nothing i can do" i was pretty upset and told myself i wasn't going back. Well a few days passed, money went back on my card, all was well, and i was like, you know what, let me go buy some plants, so i go to the store, find several house plants to take home, im checking out, its closing time, i already know the drill, im gonna have to wait out at the street. Well i walk out the door, box of plants in my arms, and see that the gate to leave is closed and locked, and i asked the lady if she could open the gate, she proceeded to tell me to walk around the building to the other side to leave out that gate... and i was like you can't open the gate... she then tells me i can hop over the fence and then she can pass me the plants over the fence... i lost it, i could not believe it, i then told her i should have never came back after she charged my card 800$ and didnt even apologize, she then told me she did apologize and i told her, no you didn't you said sorry there wasn't anything you could do about getting my money back to me quicker, not sorry you made a huge freakin mistake.. she didn't have anything to say after that. And i havnt been back since. Aside from the crappy customer service, the nursery is meh, the plants aren't kept up well, they have sold me plants that were browning at full price, and several plants had pests. Went to the nursery in Beaumont, night and day in comparison, so i now go to that nursery, and would def recommend them. read more

I decided to stop by here to take a look around. The place is clean, well organized, and has good varieties of indoor/tropical plants. Some "rare" items I usually only find online such as pumice, orchid bark, and Black Gold were in stock. I didn't go outside but I saw that there were a good collection of plants there as well. I have never had any issues with this local nursery. The owners and staff have been consistently helpful and knowledgeable over the years we have been going. I am mainly a shopper of houseplants and all of the ones I have bought here have lived and thrived. Prices are very reasonable for houseplants compared to some other nurseries in Big Bear and Laguna which I very much appreciate. I called in and asked what the best soil for raised beds would be as I was planting a vegetable garden. The advised me on their planting mix. I said great and ordered 6 yards. It is 90% large mulch! You can't use it in a raised bed or planter. I filled a lowes bucket that has a huge crack in it, drilled holes in it... the water was not draining, all the mulch floated to the top and no water was coming out. Huge chunks of woods in it, bigger than the wood chips I got in my mulch bags. I contacted them and was advised that is how it is. Buyer beware this stuff is awful! I wish I would have saved my $ and went and purchased somewhere else! read more

Great nursery, wide selection of indoor plants! They also have a wide selection of outdoor plants but I was only looking at indoor plants this trip. Very friendly staff very knowledgeable. They lady working took down several of the same plants just so I could pick which one I liked the most. I got huge indoor hanging plant and I mean huge for 36 and several other plants and a carton of strawberries all for $86. The man at the register gave me a box to get all the plants home in. They're not very attentive to their customers and act a little put out when you need attention for questions or concerns. And if you have to find a plant way out in the sunshine out back you're on your own to go up and down the isles and read the tags which are not normally correct. Salesman at the friendliest and didn't know his pricing on certain plants tried to overcharge me until I put it out with the sticker on the side of them said. My daughter and I come in at least every couple of months each year because it's local. They just need more help or better customer service. read more

I really wanted to like this Nursery since it's so close to my house and they've changed ownership! Unfortunately, I've gone there multiple times and the customer service just isn't there. You have to go in to the cashier and ask for help, they will just point you in the "general direction" of what you are looking for and that's about it. So unless you know EXACTLY what you are looking for and where it is located in the nursery, you are on your own. I am redoing my whole front yard and planters, so I needed a variety of things and some advice on what would grow in certain areas of my yard. I went to Cherry Valley Nursery and they are wonderful and all about Customer Service! It's a bit of the drive (you can go the back way there and it isn't too bad) but they are ALWAYS there to help and they always seem to have lots of Associates in the different areas of the place! read more

We have driven past this business since moving to the area just over 4 years ago. Today, we needed two large glazed pots and we decided to give them a try. We found what we thought would be the perfect pots to meet our needs. We had a couple of questions, but we were ready to purchase. It would have been about $250.00 just for the pots. We needed some additional supplies, so it probably would have meant at least $300 today and additional future sales if we had a good experience with them (we are very loyal to businesses when they provide great service and products). We went into the retail area and there was a gentleman in there putting brown wrappers on a number of potted plants and there were no other customers in the business. He may have been the only employee there as it was mid-week. We asked the gentleman if he could help us and he told us we would have to wait until he was done with his task. So, we took a look around the place. We noticed that they had a very nice selection of garden accents like wind chimes, lights, and other decor. They also had a very lovely greenhouse area with many very healthy-looking, lush indoor plants. We finished our little tour and the gentleman was still at his task and, basically, ignoring us. Finally, frustrated, my husband and I decided we were not going to reward this business with a large purchase. Any business that treats its customers like they are completely unimportant does not deserve our business. We did not expect the employee to stop everything, but a quick, friendly acknowledgement of our prolonged wait for assistance as his task wore on would have sufficed. I am truly sorry when I cannot grant a 5-star review as those are my favorite. We left the business and went to another nursery in the area. They not only had pots we loved, but they had at least five team members - all busy working on merchandising and other maintenance tasks, no other customers at the time... and every person there greeted us enthusiastically and assisted us promptly. And... I was right... the final tab was just over $300 + our future loyalty. read more

I absolutely love this place I'm probably in there once a week and I have never once had an issue. Employees are sweet and helpful and can usually answer any questions you have. I wish they had a recycling center so we can return our old smaller pots for larger ones at a discounted price. Might be a good idea! Especially for those who frequent often. Do not waste your time at this nursery. They are selling grafted trees with citation rootstock that will not grow in Yucaipa...! Needs to be Nemaguard.. My 80-year-old grandpa went in there and told them where he lived and they gave him a citation which basically is setting him up for failure. I also purchased three trees from this nursery last year and all of them are not doing well because they are citation. Why would you sell trees that would not grow in the town that you were selling them in.? Makes no sense. These guys are idiots. And they do not give your money back even if they are in the wrong. They do exchange only which means you have to get another one of their crappy trees. Waste of air space Shut this place down and build something worthwhile. read more

And they said nope sorry not on sale no more . I did let them know many trees had that price and they said they just weren't taken down yet . Would not sell me them at price listed!! Not sure why this place only has 3&1/2 stars... I've lived in redlands all 25 years of my life and have spent a lot of time in Yucaipa and have always driven by this place but never checked it out until a few days ago. This place is AMAZING!! It goes so far back and has all kinds of indoor/outdoor plants and trees! I was blown away by this hidden gem! The staff was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming! Great place to find common and hard to find plants and fruit trees. We got a Cara Cara Dwarf Citrus tree, Wonderful Pomegranate tree, and a variety of Southern Highbush Blueberries (Emerald, Southmoon, etc.). Staff is friendly and helpful, and prices here are decent. read more
