Admittedly most of the things for sale are kind of weird or in some cases junky. But what's one mans junk, may be an others gold! It's worth a walk around, and at least there are no dried cherries, olive oil or wine for sale! Definitely a diversion from the same old Door County tourist shop!

The shop is full of women's clothing and jewelry and handbags and accessories and things. It's a. boutique shop, and they sell some locally made items. They also sell a lot of women's football clothing in Green Bay Packers colors. No cheese heads, but plenty of t-shirts, hats and scarves. The sales people were not all up in our business as we were browsing, which I appreciated. They were friendly but then left us to look at everything.

The store is loaded with accessories, home goods, hair and make-up products, shoes, luggage etc. The store was bright and organized. It was crowded when I was there, but it is to be expected as it is the new attraction in a small town. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will be back to T.J Maxx and am happy there is one so close by now!

Novel Bay is a cozy little bookstore in Door County. I stumbled upon it after visiting a candy shop…read morenext door. How lovely to have a bookstore and a candy shop right next to each other! And there's a wine bar across the way. Door County easily fulfills all of my needs on one single street. I have children, but I didn't have them with me, but nevertheless, I made a beeline for the children's section. The kids area here is fun and colorful, with a nice couch to sit on and read, lots of picture books and graphic novels, and a stool for shorties who can't reach. Novel Bay gives teachers a 10% discount every day, which is nice. The whole shop is tidy and well organized, and there's a good selection without it being overwhelming.

The refrigerator in our camper was dead when we arrived Wednesday. On Thursday we went to Appliance…read moreAvenue to start looking for a replacement. We spoke to Louise; she showed us our options, including one that would fit in our limited space. They had one in stock, and had one delivery slot open on Friday. The price and other fees seemed reasonable, so we bought it. Friday morning I called to see where we were on the delivery schedule; we were first on the schedule, and at about 9:15 the truck arrived with 2 very personable young men, who proceeded to remove the old refrigerator and install the new one. Tim and his assistant were very knowledgeable and efficient and by 10 we had a new, working refrigerator. Tim explained the process to get the refrigerator to the correct temperature, and told us to call if there were any questions or issues. We were very pleased with the entire experience, and we will definitely go back to Appliance Avenue for future appliances.

I thought the prices were a little higher than the big box stores. They quoted me a $50.00 delivery and installation charge and an extra $25 if it had to go in the basement.
