My boyfriend and I just returned from our stay here on the 4th of July weekend. We stayed in the Banyan room with my cat and his 13 year old dog, and I have to say, we were SO pleasantly surprised. I wish I could give this place 4.5 stars, but I wanted to be ultra conservative. Here's what we found:
You walk in to a large living room with (3) couches that seat 8. At least one of them is a sleeper sofa (and I'd bet the second of the three is, too, since it was an identical couch). There's a wall-mounted a/c unit, a coffee table, and an end table. The kitchen is a full kitchen, with dishwasher and everything. We cooked for lunch one day and it was fine.
Just off the kitchen and small dining, there is a full bathroom (stand-up shower, sink, toilet). You have two glass slider doors that lead out onto the pool deck, a bedroom with what I swear is a California-King sized bed (and a window a/c unit), and ANOTHER bathroom with a tub/shower combo, toilet and sink.
The unit was REALLY clean, with two VERY small exceptions. Over the course of our stay, we had some small sweet ants join us in the main bathroom, but they were gone once our stuff was packed away for check-out. We didn't even mention it to the motel, because I didn't think it was that big of a deal. We did mention (and it's notable to write here) that the a/c unit in the bedroom seems to have mold in it. Again, this was just a quick weekend, and so not something I'd expect at a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton, but this place was extremely economical, so these are just some nitpicky items to note.
You have assigned parking (our parking spot was solo, and right outside our room). Parking is limited, though, so don't bring more than one car if you can help it. A neighbor "stole" our parking space the first day into the second, but we asked her to move it into her own space, so it was fine.
To get to the beach, there is an extremely narrow pathway across the street that seems a little overgrown by vegetation. The way we got around that is by walking on the property that neighbors that pathway just to the right of it. It was fine. Would I have preferred a property directly on the beach? Sure, but I'm lugging around two animals, so this is what we ended up with and it was fine.
There was free wi-fi, a decent cable channel lineup, and the air conditioning units (much to our surprise) got pretty cold. And the pool was clean and cool, and really quiet. For much of the time, we had it pretty much to ourselves, although some other folks were enjoying it, too, from time to time.
We'd definitely stay here again.
