On this particular morning, it was to bring the boys to get their learner's permits, but I have been to this shopping plaza many times. The Publix and Mr. Petman Superstore are the two primary reasons that I am in this shopping plaza. This particular shopping plaza has definitely seen better days and needs a lot of better stores. Sunshine Park Mall is on Ridgewood Avenue, so it is extremely convenient and there is plenty of parking. With the lack of great shopping, I would definitely recommend shopping elsewhere if you want to do some window shopping, but if you are heading here for a particular business, you should have no issues. I was between giving Sunshine Park Mall two stars or three stars. I opted to give it three stars. read more

LOVE Zumi's International Foods, we go there a couple of times a month. The Joint Gastropub and Arcade is also great. THE RESTROOMS ARE LOCKED. How do you have a PUBLIC mall with the PUBLIC restrooms that are locked during business hours? I saw an elderly lady and her daughter walking out because the poor older lady had an accident because the restrooms were locked. UNACCEPTABLE. read more

Below is a statement from the property's Facebook Page it pretty much sums up the state of this "Mall" Sunshine Park Mall - "We understand your frustration. We've been working to get more retail businesses into the mall and on revitalization projects to bring our mall to life. Keep watching for future growth!" - February 27 at 7:35am Today's visit was my second to try the "Gourmet Kitchen" restaurant located near the back entrance. My only previous visit to this aging mostly vacant mall was for an indoor flea market (don't know if this is a reoccurring event or just a one time show) but that was a few years ago and this property seemed to be in decline at that time, but not nearly to this extent. After attempting to have breakfast we decided to walk around this mall to take our mind off the awful food we just walked away from, this place is more depressing and disappointing than the breakfast attempt. It was mid day and I saw two people in the entirety of this mall and they could have been owners of the empty stores. I don't see a need to return..... read more

THE BAD: The Closeout depot behind Mr. Petmans is comparable to Harvest time but take note, I spent $15 on a picture frame that fell apart when I took all of their wrapping off. Wasted money since there's no refunds and I was unable to glue the pieces back together. The woman working listened in on 2 of my phone conversations and added her opinions after I hung up on both calls. They have other items that you probably wont waste your money on such as soaps, cosmetics, and nonperishable foods but KNOW YOUR PRICES. Some of the soaps were more expensive than Wal-Mart. THE GOOD: I've completely decorated my townhouse using the Bealls Outlet in this strip mall. They have the best variety and stock out of any of the others around town. I take full advantage of their clearance sections. I can always find a great deal! Duffs is also in this plaza, and its become my fiancé and I's favorite buffet, we even like it better than Golden Corral! Publix is the closest grocery store to where I live and I've grown to love it. I was a die hard Wal-Mart shopper before, but this Publix has great deals and they also like to mark things down unlike the bigger Publix stores. On another note, they always have friendly, knowledgeable staff. read more

At least that is what I came here for. They also have a hair salon, a collectible toy store, and several other businesses. I would not say this would be a place to come and do some shopping, however if you have to come to one of these businesses, there's nothing really wrong with this place. I guess that I will give it three stores, because while there is nothing wrong with it, there is also nothing extraordinary really good about it. We got a fun board book for our little and they have a great kids section for anyone interested in that. They also offer a cafe if you want a quick coffee or snack.
