I asked the person on the phone if they do anything for birthdays, she said no..BUT she could have them provide a fruit platter for her upon arrival. I was excited! We arrived at 10, and nothing was there for her. :/ Womp womp. My mom got the male manicurist and I got the female. I didn't get their names, which I feel bad because the male was ON POINT. He knows what he's doing & he does it well! They're all very friendly, but he was talkative and easy to get along with. It's $60 for the organic pedicure..worth it? Mm, not too sure. My gal was really delicate with me (which I appreciate because I'm ticklish) but when it came to massaging and what not, it was nothing lol. My mom loved her massage so much that she booked an appointment the next day for just her hands LOL. Anyways, got the toes done..waited a good 30-45 minutes before putting on shoes and what not..I get back, take off the shoes and my manicure is messed up. Not to mention that a lot of parts weren't even polished on. -_________________- wat. If it was like 20 bucks..no problem, but to pay $60 and have it messed up and not even applied properly, not okay. Went back the next day with my mom and asked if the guy would be able to do it for me, and without hesitation he said yes. 15 minutes and he was done. Looked great, too! I wish I could give five stars but I cut the last star due to food. Let's start with one important thing: prices. It's only $40 for a day pass. That to me is worth it there when you want a quick getaway! Then, for $25 more or even $15 depending on th deal at that time, you can add an hour spa pedicure usually infused with something. For the ladies, they have a steam room infused with Eucalyptus and a sauna room. They also have a jacuzzi. The showers are so beautiful. The second thing is that it is very intimate. The capacity for th jacuzzi is only 8 people. So their capacity for the entire spa is very low. They even provide snacks which is another one of my favorites. They have cold face towels infused with Eucalyptus that you can use while in a spa treatment like the sauna. They have bottled water and infused water everywhere. The only thing is food choices. It can be pricey because you have to pay for the hotel delivery fee. I usually go to the Cafe next door. However, they do not have amazing prices and the food is not high quality. But it is good enough to hold you. They also can deliver alcohol to you if you want it. The small beautiful spa is amazing. Love this place. Beautiful decor, warm and friendly attentive staff, nice environment. A bit pricey, especially when compared to my L.A. Korean spas. But a different animal than those. Peace and quiet, nice new age music, and they CATER to you. Ever time you step out of the shower, they clean it and place new towels in it. No restrictions on towels or the time you spend there. You could probably even have food brought in. I lick the spa at the Spa Resort Casino, but it's a bit too busy and noisy for actual relaxation. This place is bliss. Sam and Manuel are both excellent massage therapists (definitely go for deep tissue), and Christopher (on the men's side) is wonderfully respectful attendant. One nice aspect is that you can enjoy an all-male, all female, or mixed environment, if your spouse/companion happens to be of the opposite gender. Something for everyone. I am not a huge spa person, but I may be converted after visiting Sunstone. The spa facilities are top notch. Great steam room, indoor whirlpool and sauna. I have visited sunstone twice - the first time for a massage, and the second for a facial. The massage experience was good, but the facial was amazing. My esthetician, Kiki was professional, skilled and also super sweet - we were in town for a bachelorette party and she gave me tons of tips on where to go out. We all really enjoyed the private outdoor pool for spa guests - what a nice touch, especially on a hot summer day. And the spa attendants couldn't have been more attentive - they constantly brought us cold elixer drinks, cut up fruit, and chilled cucumber water. Perfect birthday surprise. A group of 4 of us went for a massage and pedi's. The 3 girls got massages, 2 of us got pedi's and the gentleman in the group took advantage of a day pass, $45. My massage therapist was Betty. This massage was tied for the best massage I've ever gotten (Lake Tahoe yrs ago). Betty was amazing and makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet. The pedicures were good, mine was better. I had the male nail tech who did a great job with the stones and massaging my feet. The female tech my friend had, not so much. I was glad I had who I had, she was jealous. I would do a pedi at my local salon before I go next time. The coed lounge had waters, fresh and dried fruits and even almond roca if you need a little sweet. We all enjoyed out time at the spa. From checking in, staff attendants in the amenities room and our therapists we could not have asked for more. We had a 3 hour drive to visit this spa and casino but we will be back soon! read more

My sister is a local to the area. When my boyfriend and I were visiting we thought it would be a good time for a spa treatment. After checking around we settled on going to Sunstone. Before our individual massage sessions we got a tour of the facility. The place is immaculate. Even the area around the exclusive outdoor pool was spotless. There are gender specific areas as well as common areas (like the pool and the 'relaxation area'). In the lounge area and the co-ed relaxation area there's fresh fruit and excellent teas, as well as magazines to help you pass the time until your appointment. Speaking of appointments, oh boy was my foot massage the best! Sheva (spelling?) is a sweet lady and used the full hour session to work on my aching dogs. The scrub and oil she used smelled great, too. When my hour was up I was whisked away to the hair salon, where Gary worked on my hair. Very sweet man with polite chair side manners. He wasn't afraid to give me an honest evaluation of what I've been doing to my hair, and gave me a haircut to give my thin hair some much needed body and volume. I spent the rest of the day at the spa, alternating from the sauna to the jacuzzi to the steam room. I met my boyfriend later in the afternoon and we had the swimming pool to ourselves. The water was just right and it didn't have the au de chlorine odor that many hotel spa pools have. When it was time to go home I used the showers. The shampoo and conditioner they provide did wonders to my hair. The only reason my boyfriend and I left the spa was because we had a restaurant reservation. I am a spa connoisseur and I will easily give this location 5 stars. I was staying in La Quinta and after looking on Yelp could not find anything with high stars on Yelp. After broadening my search I found this gem only 25 minutes away. The facilities are modern, clean and luxurious. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The customer service was outstanding. Everything was spotless and new. I ended up going during the week and had the facial special they post on-line. I think they change the specials monthly so I definitely recommend you go on the spa website to figure out what they are advertising. I got a glycolic facial for $99 and it was a huge price cut....so I would strongly suggest coming during the week if you are on vacation (plus the place was entirely empty). My esthetician was outstanding and I definitely recommend using Elle Thompson - professional, lovely and very patent. I am a minimalist person when it comes to my face and when I got into the room I realized I signed up for a more intensive facial, that involved a peel, than expected. First, Elle spent a lot of time explaining the glycolic portion of the facial and was extremely patient with me. Basically squelching my fears that I was going to somehow burn my face (which DID NOT happen). Second, although I made her take the peel off early my skin, two days later, looks great. Maybe there is something to burning - itchy - hot skin? A lot of my sun damage was minimized after one short - very short- peel. I did not have a chance to work out and use the pool, but as I was leaving I looked at the facilities and they were clean, up-to-date. The outdoor pool was fairly large and looked luxurious. As I left the facility I kept on thinking I needed to come back on vacation to spend a full day there. One of my best spa experiences I have had in a long time. read more

Me and my sisters have visited this spa a couple times and both times, the spa, staff, and amenities have been amazing. When you first walk into the spa, the smell of essential oils already makes me forget everything, it is so nice. The front desk staff gave us a spa tour which was nice because it made me feel VIP. We got ready for our massages by first relaxing in the sauna, they have a dry and wet sauna, the spa area is well kept and organized, I loved the natural colors of the spa too. My massage therapist was excellent, I quickly was able to relax and enjoy my time there. She was very informative and friendly, I will go to her again, I believe her name was Anita. We both get bodywork very regularly, but had never enjoyed it being done while we were side by side. We were both VERY disappointed with our massage therapists, even though we liked the overall spa facility. In each case, neither therapist seemed to know the appropriate amount of pressure to apply to our necks during a supposedly Swedish style massage. My g/f actually had a swollen spot at the base of her skull post-massage, and I had to tell my therapist to stop working on my neck altogether. I am very pleased with the service here. I booked a 50-minute prenatal massage and my therapist was great! I asked for a more firm massage and she was very skilled. She was quite accommodating with my pregnant body, with just the right amount of conversation. The facility is lovely, too. I visited Palm Springs for a bachelorette party and was the last to leave on Sunday. I had about 6 hours to spend on my own so I decided to treat myself to a facial. We had gotten massages at a spa in downtown Palm Springs but I wanted to try something new. I found the Sunstone Spa on yelp and figured I would give them a try. I arrived an hour before my massage with all my luggage in tow. The ladies at the front were so kind and let me store my bag in the office. The tour was great and showed me everything this spa had to offer. After I changed in the private dressing room (great for modest gals like me) I showed my stuff in my locker and set forth to try the dry sauna. Next I laid out on the pool deck and soaked in some sun. It was getting close to facial time so I grabbed some snacks from the co Ed lounge and headed for the grounded room. The chairs have a zero gravity feature that tilts you back to relieve any pressure from your back while massaging you the entire time. My esthetician got me from this room and gave me the best 25 min refresh facial I've ever had. I still had some time to spend before heading to the airport so I tried out the hot tub, the steam room, and took a very relaxing shower that diffused orange essential oils. Overall the spa is super clean, very pretty, has tons of amenities, and the staff is super kind and helpful. I hope I will be returning soon! read more

We had an AMAZING time! We checked out of our hotel at 10:00am and decided to check out Sunstone based on Yelp reviews. We arrived at the hotel and went straight to the Spa. The attendant was very friendly. We purchased a day pass, the facility was not coed except for a coed lounge area and the private pool area (reserved for spa users only). The attendants were super friendly, as soon as I walked into the women's area the attendant showed me to the lockers and gave me my rob and slippers. She then walked walked me through the facility to show me where everything was and how to work things. I sat in the jacuzzi (temp was perfect with just the right amount of bubbles). The sauna and steam room were great, nice and hot and very clean. There were lounge chairs throughout, ice water in almost every room, hot tea and fruit in the women's lounge, magazines (although I wish I brought a book), towels everywhere and wash clothes soaked in ice water, so refreshing after the sauna. You can also order food if you want to snack or have lunch there. The coed lounge area had a television and led out to the pool area. Lots of lounge chairs and shade available. The attendants came out several times to check on us and provided fresh fruit and water. They also had a room with a blow dryer, q-tips etc and they had a bathing suit dryer which was very convenient. We had a VERY relaxing time, we didn't want it to end! I would highly recommend visiting this Spa! We will definitely be back! Pros: Great location (in the casino so if you want to leave for lunch, walk around, shop, get coffee etc and you don't have to leave the area. After the 10th smile and nod, I just wanted to have some space to myself. But the spa is very clean, so I guess that's why. There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool that is exclusive to spa guests. They play spa music and it's quite the escape. My massage was just OK. It was so deep I felt like I needed to get another massage the next day. Plus, the therapist asked me almost six times if I was doing OK. He phrased it as follows, "How are we doing, my lady?" It got a little annoying. I like how there is a private outdoor area with a pool and lounge chairs. The waiting room is filled up leather massage chairs that recline. Its a very clean and beautiful spa with the best therapists because it is well managed by Daniel and his two assistant managers Anna and Mayra together they do an amazing job. I usually get facials with Doris or Fabiola...also serenity massages with Marina,amazing pedicures with Beatriz, Sang or Jade and hair color with Allyson or Amanda. There are always spa attendants there to check on you and bring you fresh fruit, tea or anything to make your spa experience enjoyable. The spa manager Nicole is fabulous! My husband and I enjoyed our first spa day together for his birthday. All of the staff was very accomodating and so very friendly. We both had amazing massages. Then we were able to use all the fascilities such as the pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub, etc. And you can stay all day long if you want. We ordered lunch by the private pool and then before we left, we used their showers and it was such a wonderful experience. My husband said the shower alone was worth it. I just had my 50 minute lavender body scrub. My appointment was for 3pm. I was picked up for my treatment at 3:05. 2 minute walk to the treatment room, 2 minute wait for my technician to enter the room, another 2 minutes for her to drape the floor to catch the salt. 10 minutes into the treatment time, the treatment began. The scrub itself was very good. My technician, Betty, was really quite good. After 15 minutes of scrubbing, it was time for the shower. It only took a couple minutes to rinse off the salt. A very nice product, by the way. I was asked to just stand there, in the shower for another two minutes while she got the room ready. Then 15 minutes of moisturizer application. The treatment ended at 3:45. So, including the shower and the standing around in the shower waiting, the entire treatment took about 35 minutes. Not 50 minutes as advertised. I don't blame the technician. The problem is with the 50 minute treatments. There's no way that 10 minutes in between treatments is enough time to clean up, walk your guest, go to the bathroom do whatever else you have to do before you take your next guest in. The bottom line is, if it's a 35 minute treatment, say it's a 35 minute treatment. Don't say it's a 50 minute treatment and then Jip your guest out of 15 minutes that they paid for. read more

He isn't on the schedule much right now, but I can say it was one of the top massages I've ever had ... just the right amount of pressure and he focused on the areas where I was most needing it. I was nervous about going to the "casino spa", instead of a resort spa, but my friend had complimentary passes for the day spa. Boy was I surprised! I have been to several day spas here in the valley and this one was wonderful. The spa has it all including a eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi and spa pool. The rain showers were wonderful with all the amenities. The facilities were very clean. We arrived at 9am and stayed till 2 pm during the week. We were the only ones there for the first hour. The spa was amazing as was the spa staff. I loved the rustic wood dry sauna, the eucalyptus steam sauna, the jacuzzi, and they have a private pool for spa users so you don't have to deal with the crowd. All the fruit and cucumber water you desire! There were only 6 people at our private pool with soothing music and pool side service. That pool side service comes from inside the casino and is the reason for only 3 stars. HORRIBLE! After serving my friends and I hot martinis, we asked for food. He seemed annoyed that we wanted to see a menu because he had to go back and get one. I can't read your mind and don't know what you have! He brought it and I noticed there were no vegetarian options so I asked what they had for people who don't eat meat. This is Palm Springs! I know I'm not the only one! He responded by informing me that they had lots of "kinds" of burgers. I said "veggie ones" and he said "oh...no"! Wtf? I got a chinese salad without chicken and a side of onion rings. It worked. My friend ordered lettuce wraps. When he came, he gave us our credit cards and a tray of food. After we went through our food, my salad was missing. I had to call someone to hunt it down for me. He was sorry he forgot it! My friend's lettuce wraps came in a chinese food container. We thought it was the wrong order and asked him where the lettuce wraps were. He said "there" and pointed to the container. I asked "where's the lettuce?" and he said he forgot that too! He promptly came back and handed her a wedge of lettuce in saran wrap. They couldn't even take it out of the plastic wrap! Horrible cheap presentation. If we hadn't had such a wonderful time with spa services I would have been totally pissed. This is my second time in two weeks coming to this spa! So incredible and so clean and the staff are very friendly answering any questions we had and providing us with whatever we needed. I will say that the massage experiences was one of my favorite ones. I will say I felt the massage was rushed a little bit and that I would have wanted it to be slower but I was too shy to say anything so that was my fault. The chairs were different too, I've never sat on chairs like that. When you flipped over to lay on your back the bring the chair to a angle which I loved and they covered your eyes with something. Great spa place, very serene and relaxing. A VARIETY of services for both men and women. You can get manicures/pedicures (Jade is really good) and they even have a hair salon. But the hair salon gets booked up pretty fast because at that time, they only had one hairstylist. Pretty quiet during the weekdays. They have a nice little pool, saunas, steam rooms and a jacuzzi. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. Very clean. Great service once you get inside. They have fresh fruits and tea. They also have a spa food menu in case you decide to lounge there the whole day. Tanya is WONDERFUL with facials, she is my favorite. Does a really thorough job and she customizes your facial treatment so it's personalized. If you like deep tissue massages, Jeanie and Cassandra are GREAT! They give you a really good deep tissue massage. Another great massage service is their heated stone massage, it's a pretty nice massage if you've never tried it before. I LOVED it! Very pleasant if you just want to enjoy your facial treatments and massages. They don't keep talking like alot of other places. You get to enjoy your services in peace and relaxation. I started out swimming in the private spa pool, indoor jacuzzi, went in the steam room and dry sauna. Very clean and top notch. The employees here are very attentive. I was puddy in Fabiola's hands.
