I ordered taxi from a hotel in Punta Cana to get to the airport for 22.30. Driver showed up at 22.49 when I was already in another taxi car, opened a door of this car and start yelling at me trying to persuade me to sit in his car. This was very rude and pretty scary. Of course, I stayed in the local taxi car. When I requested a refund, customer service specialist told me that I am not eligible for a refund as I took another taxi car. I don't understand why I should have waited for their driver for 19 minutes taking the risk to miss my flight. FYI - they will wait for you for not more than 10 minutes though. The first time we used this company, our driver was about 15 minutes late taking us to the airport. I thought, not a big deal, just a one time thing, whatever. But then we booked an airport transfer through Sunttransfers and when our flight arrived, there was no one there to pick us up. After contacting them, they stated they will investigate and call us back in 5 minutes, they did not call us back. We then called them back again, we were told "to just find a taxi" and they would refund our paid money and reimburse the taxi fee as well. When we arrived home from the trip, they refunded the money we originally paid, after 2 weeks, but not the taxi fee. They also didn't respond to my email regarding this issue. I will absolutely not use this company again and wouldn't recommend anyone else use them. They are unreliable and flippant about their negligent service and customer service issues. read more

The driver is always waiting outside security dressed professionally, and ready with a clean car or van to transport us. W got delayed at Heathrow so contacted Sun Transfers (we were going to Lisbon) - with more than two hours notice as they ask for in their terms. I was then told that all they could do is cancel the transfer, without refund. No rescheduling. I've since talked to someone from their "quality" department who decided that the terms and conditions are different to what's on their website and will not issue a refund. I would not use these guys because as we all know flights can be delayed or cancelled. Don't fall for their claims of being able to claim it back on travel insurance either as we all know there's huge excesses on that. read more

AVOID THIS DANGEROUS COMPANY! 1. When the driver of the transfer arrived, he knew very well (how he could he not??!!!) that the A/C in the van was not working. It was very hot when we got in. We assumed that it would just take a few minutes for the A/C to work, but it never did. It was very hot and uncomfortable. AND, the driver, who knew in advance that the A/C didn't work, clearly saw that we had a small baby with us, and STILL let us get in to the van. I'm DISGUSTED by that absolute lack of consideration for the safety of my child!!! My husband and I fanned her with our travel papers the entire way from the airport to the resort. 2. Our flight got in at 11am. The transfer didn't arrive until after noon. 3. Staff was not at all visible in the designated area. 4. Company reps did not at all care about our situation, the fact that I did NOT pay for a transfer shuttle without A/C, nor about the heat stress knowingly imposed on my baby. I booked a transfer from Punta Cana airport. I followed all directions in the confirmation email. When my flight arrived there was no one to meet me. I waited for 30 minutes after my flight landed and no on from Sun Transfers showed up. I walked up and down the line of transfer drivers, asked multiple airline employees, and other transfer companies if they knew where the Sun Transfers driver was and everyone said they weren't there. Not only that, but I was told by multiple people that they were a bad company. I tried calling the number given in the confirmation email and the number wasn't a functioning number. So I have arrived in a foreign country and was stranded at the airport. I had to pay $90 for a taxi. I emailed them the same day with my complaint and received automatic response email saying I would be contacted within 20 business days. 20 Days!!! What horrible customer service. When I finally did receive an email from the company it had been 23 days. And they refused to refund my money. In 20 years of traveling, I have never experienced such a terrible company. Abandoned in Barcelona: Be forewarned about SunTransfers.com. Our cruise ship's return to Barcelona, Spain was delayed because of a passenger with a life-threatening medical emergency. We emailed SunTransfers.com to notify them we would be (only) 30 minutes late to meet our driver for the trip from the pier to the airport the next morning, December 24, 2012. But because we notified them 12 hours in advance, instead of 24, they canceled the reservation, sent the driver on his way without us and kept the pre-paid transportation fee. They do offer a "guaranteed" change of reservations for a 3 Euro fee at the time of the booking; however, based on the terrible customer service for refusing to wait even 30 minutes for four of us, I would never recommend this company. read more

I pre-booked a transfer from sum transfers from/to the Cairo airport. After travelling 22 hours and getting into Cairo at 1:30am I discovered that no one was there to pick me up. Upon checking my booking reference, I realized that there was no local or toll free number to call. As I had prepaid for the booking, I had to call Italy to speak with a representative. They insisted I provide them a chance to contact the driver and when I raised concerns over the long distance charges they indicated it would be covered. Long story short, two months later the company refuses to pay those charges ($45) and I wasted 90 minutes waiting for the company to rectify the situation which they were unable to do. If I could give this company a negative star I would! They were awful! We got off our cruise and waited for ever for our driver that they never sent in the first place! We called them to ask what happened and they said our driver had been waiting for us for an hour when we had been waiting at the front and no one had a sign with our name on it. When I texted them 3 hours ahead of time that my plane from America was delayed and that the airline had put us on another connecting flight that would arrive a mere 55 minutes later, I got the message back that "Too bad.""We can't contact the driver until after 9 am local time." My pickup was earlier than that to begin with. That's why I hired a driver in the first place. I even paid for the extra insurance. Didn't matter. This company is a fraud. Terrible, terrible service. I helped my mum booked a two-way transfer from Manchester airport to Blackpool. On the return leg, the driver came but refused to let my mum and her friends (3 people in total) on the car because he said the luggages could not fit in the boot (it was a small car). We specially requested a car that can carry 3 luggages when we booked. The driver drove away without offering any help. The hotel helped them arranged a taxi but this was already 30 minutes later. My mum nearly missed her plane. I complained to the customer service and provided photos of my mum with her 3 luggages. After one month, the manager wrote back and said the driver and I had conflicting stories. The driver said there were 4 luggages at the time and they decided to stand by the driver's story. I told them the driver lied and that we even have photos to prove it. However, they ignored our photos and refused to refund our money for the return trip. read more

My first time using Sun Transfers on our Europe trip, going to Barcelona from New York. Our connecting fight from Paris to Barcelona cancelled on us, literally on the day of and we were on our way to the airport, and was told that we would be rebook another flight and had to wait for further information at the time. We basically had no idea which airline or time of the rebooking until an hour before boarding from NY to Paris. I immediately contacted Sun Transfers via their website chatting group, and told them the situation and the new rebooking infos. Since the cancellation happened within the 24 hours period, and we did not purchase the travel plan protection, plus It now became a completely different flight and time, I was told they would have to cancel the old reservation I might get charge with the new booking for the transportation. I felt annoyed with the airline who cancelled our flight for that but I understand Sun Transfers' policy and was totally ready to pay. But when the Sun Transfers representative got back to me regarding the new reservation, I was told that they understand the situation so they made an exception with no charge for us this time!!! Totally unexpected and grateful for that!!! Unfortunately our new connecting flight ended up getting delayed for almost an hour and i think the driver waited. I was very impressed with this service. Booking the taxi online was very easy and making changes using chat was also very easy. The drivers are exceptionally courteous, the cars are very clean and they are on time. Traffic can sometimes be a challenge especially in a city like Paris so give yourself plenty of time when booking the pickup time. For the larger cities, my suggestion to Sun Transfers would be to give their drivers a list of what terminals the different airlines fly out of in their city, in case the tickets do not have that information printed on them such as mine. Great decision!! Daniel my driver was amazing! So friendly and knowledgeable, loves his city. Since I didn't have to worry about mileage racking up on a meter, he was able to take me through the beautiful city and show me some buildings and such on my way to my Airbnb. My family and I (20 week pregnant partner, two children aged 5 and 6) were left stranded at Bastia Airport in Corsica after the transfer failed to show up. On a Sunday. It was a horrible start to our holiday. After an hour of international phone calls of our own expense, Suntransfers told us that the booking had been 'lost', to take a taxi and they'd refund it, leaving us with very little money left for our holiday. We booked in advance to have a pick-up in Barcelona. We also paid to receive a confirmation text the day before our trip. Upon arrival in Barcelona there was no driver there to get us, We waited about 15 minutes and then had to make 4 phone calls to get the company to call the driver and then let us know that he would in fact eventually arrive. We waited another 30-45 minutes and he did arrive. The company did call back twice to keep me informed that the driver was coming. The driver was kind and courteous but LATE! When I sent an email to the company requesting a refund for the text I had paid for and never received I was told after 2 weeks that they would refund only part of it and there was not compensation for the delay we experienced or the cost of the calls to get in touch with them. I had booked Suntansfers taxi for transfer from CDG to Paris and paid Euro 60 in advance. On reaching CDG, we were surprised to see that the suntransfer driver had left without waiting for us to clear immigration and customs. They sent us a mail informing us and when we tried to call back, there was only automated responses. Needless to say this was frustrating as we had to book a fresh taxi and pay an additional euro 90 to reach Paris.
