Absolutely no complaints about any of the nurses, cna's or any of the office staff. At times they can be short staffed but every effort was made to maintain the appropriate staffing for patient ratio is done. Also thankfully they set up and get will transportation for you to your doctors and back. So your continuity of care is kept as best as possible. I've been a patient at this location twice and other then my bad demeanor about wanting to go home the first time, I was still treated professionally then and again was treated professionally the second time of discharge. All I can say is they were there for me and I caused issues that don't make me proud of myself or fair to those trying to help move things along as fast as possible. I'm still very sadden and sorry for my childish like behavior. Thank you everyone at Sunview, I'm comfortable knowing you've got my back if i (so I hope) or especially anyone I know needs your level of services. read more

I wouldn't recommend going here. They don't take care of the patients properly. The care they provide is the worse I've ever seen, and I say this due to the fact that if you call a nurse they will come and then leave for multiple hours on end and not bring you what you asked for like water. My grandma has been sitting there dehydrated with no water for hours. Also another issue to point out is my grandmother is hooked up to tubes and a bag to do her "business" needless to say, they haven't changed that bag and it was exploded all over my grandmother and she's sat in her matter for hours. So the care provided is terrible and I seriously wouldn't recommend. read more

This place deserves ZERO STARS!!! My mom was here after a hospital stay where she was diagnosed with diabetes. This place was atrocious. They allowed her to sit in a wet brief for over an hour on multiple occasions. (This was the norm). They do not cater to the dietary needs of a diabetic, so everyone eats the same thing. They have you write down the foods you either won't or can't eat, then ignore it and bring you whatever they want. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A CNA but a used brief in my moms face, another one told my mom the extra sandwiches they had where for "important people".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When my mom was in PT, there was a cockroach crawling on the floor. The lady in the room with my mom had a roach crawling across her feet in her bed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was dealing with the social worker, who was nice enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But this place is gross. Walking in the hallways, there was urine on the floor and people just walked around it. No hurry to clean it. My mom only got a shower 2 days a week but was expected to sit in urine. My wife was there twice for rehabilitation after strokes. The first time they "lost" her kindle when she had to go to hospital and a nurse finally found it. Second trip to hospital, for Covid pneumonia, mrsa infection, contracted at Sunview. My wife almost died from "care" at Sunview. Once again they claim they can't find the kindle and have lost her glasses. My neighbor was taken to this nasty place after leaving the hospital. He was completely ignored, never helped with eating and did not give him water to drink. Left him in his depends for days. They basically killed him! If we did not demand that he get out of this place and took him back to the hospital he would have basically been killed there. He ended up in ICU aupon entering hospital with a blocked bowel and died. That place should be closef. If you love your relative don't even consider taking them to this dump or if you do you should begin preparing for their funeral read more

I was here in april of 2023 after having 2 surgeries back to back If i could give this place a minus review i would. The staff were uncaring. They didnt come when you turned on the help light in the bathroom and took a long time coming when turning on the help light in the room after going back to the bed. The food was nasty and unidentifiable. My mattress slid off the frame 3 times because the end was broken off the bed frame. It ws the worst place i have ever been. Someone stole my food they had put in the refrigerator. Please if you care for your family do not send them there. I just wish they had more compassion. No one wants to be there and some are going through the worst times of their lives. The least you could do is treat them with dignity and respect and decent food. read more

My brother is sweating his ass off and the Staff has no control of the thermostat settings. It's 14 patients to 1 nurse. We were told it's 10 to 1. Where do I even begin. Told by SW-TJ my mother needed to move as they were closing their long term care. I was given a few options and chose Lake Pleasant only if she would be placed by the nurses station. My mother was transferred without telling me a transfer time. Found her at the end of the hall at Lake Pleasant lying in feces, sick without any of her belongings from Sun View. Not even a cell phone or a blanket. The Executive Director Sean @ Sun View never apologized. Made excuses saying the transportation company didn't have room to take her belongings. Really? Not even a cell phone or a blanket? Four days later they brought some of her things but not all. A week later I obtained her walker, purse and some clothes, blankets. Three weeks later and I am still trying to locate her belongings between Sunview and Lake Pleasant. Unfortunately this is not a "One Off" as they moved my mother to a different room in December and they lost at least half her belongings that took months to get back. They found her items in the activity room, other patients rooms and their "storage." And this was just from transferring her from one room to another. This facility does not care about their patients dignity or basic human rights. Their patients are only a source of profit and it clearly shows. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. Furthermore Sunview does not have an assigned ombudsman. This means a patient or family will not have an advocate to assist in time of need. read more

My uncle stayed here for a little over a month, during this time he was mis treated by the nurses, and staff. My mom called to speak with his case worker and they just wouldn't answer her calls. He choked on blood clots and nurses weren't around to help. He pressed his call button and nobody came, so he went to the nurses station and they actually yelled at him. So fast forward to last week, they made him leave on a holiday, they didn't prepare us at all for training with feeding tubes, suction machine or anything. Monday came, all of the hospice machines were not delivered like they were supposed to be IT WAS A HOLIDAY. He needed the machines to survive, but this company treated him as another number. Just a paycheck from an insurance company. He died 3 days later, you didn't train my mom even though you signed a paper saying you guys did, you didn't get us what he needed to survive on, you couldn't even answer the phone. Better lawyer up sun view. We're not done with you just yet. If you love your sick ones, don't send them here. It's a waste of time & money. read more

I'd like to tell my story about a family member, who was recently discharged from Sunview Rehab. First off, I'd like to thank the Therapy staff, for taking such good and kind care of my family member. My family member has been through so much these past two months. Next I would like to comment on the food, point blank, it was discussing. Grant it, this isn't a 5 star restaurant, however, the food that is prepared, still needs to be eatable. No matter what was brought to them, the food was COLD!!! Needless to say, my family member lost several lbs, due to not eating. Next, the nursing staff, was sub-par. I won't go into details, but I believe there needs to be better oversite with the nursing staff, and how they prioritize patient needs. I would not recommend any of my family or friends to stay here, or have their family members stay here. read more

There are a lot of issues with this place. They are understaffed with nurses; they have a Nurse Practitioner that is not very good; they are slow to respond. Had my mother in there twice this month and both times we had to send her to the hospital to recover from the treatment administered and neglected by the Sun View staff. There were issues with her care (or lack thereof) that were noted and recorded by the hospital in the ER. They lied to the hospital about what I witnessed and then lied about what they claimed the hospital nurse had said. If your loved one needs any special attention , they will not get it here. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. My advice is to look somewhere else I wish I could give it zero stars. read more

My brother in law has been in this facility close to 6 months now. I live in LOS ANGELES and I am the only family member that currently visits him. I try to make it at least once a month. I always give a weeks notice minimum before I come to see him so that he can be bathed and up. The nursing staff can get him up but they simply will not bathe him before my visit. I know he is suppose to get a shower twice a week but I feel that is not enough and since I'm not close by I can't confirm that even happens. Last month when i went to visit his roommate looked like he had not had a shower in two weeks and my family member smelled so bad I literally left the room three times because I was sick from the awful smell and how the way he looked. The nurses are always pleasant when I'm there but I'm just so frustrated by the way he is being cared for. They claim they are a rehabilitation facility and offer speech therapy and exercise to the patients but I have yet to see any of that happen. I believe he would be able to communicate better if he was actually being rehabilitated. When trying to get in touch with someone that works at the facility my phone calls are not returned nor are my text messages. If he was cared for properly I believe he could have a much better quality of life since he will most likely be here long term. After what happened at hacienda facility I guess I should be happy he's here read more

Worst place to take someone you love and want to get well.. The staff acts like they don't care about anything but their paycheck. Once you are in there it is a fight to get out all they are interested in is the money and if you go on privet pay it takes an act of god to get you out. read more

If I could give negative stars I would!! My mom is currently there for rehab in less than 24 hrs I tried to get her moved n the dr wouldn't release her. Today is Thanksgiving n I wanted to bring her home for dinner n because the nurse practitioner didn't know her he wouldn't allow it! I was lied to that it was medicare guidelines but I talked to them and busted the nurse line to me then found out she lied again!! She waited over and hr on 2 different occasions to use the bedside commode and both times it was too late.. Wish I could share pics its dirty as well.. Welcome to Sunview rehabilitation prison. My wife was sentenced to an indeterminate sentence on the 20th of July 2019. She had a brain hemorrhage on May 31st 2019 at the Paradise Casino in Yuyma Arizona. I took her to the emergency room at Yuma regional hospital. I let her out at the emergency room entrance and went to park the truck. When I got back she was not in the waiting area, she had wanted to go to the bathroom and I went to the bathroom. I opened the door and asked if she was alright, she answered yes. I waited about twenty minutes and then went into the bathroom she was laying on the floor in her vomit, I went back outside and got someone to help her, They got her on a gurney and took her into the emergency room, where the doctor had a scan taken of her brain and informed me that she had a one in four chance of making it, an emergency room tech jammed a tub down her throat damaging the larnx. the doctor arranged for her to be flown to Phoenix at "St Joseph Hospital, (Dignity Health) they placed a tube in her brain to drain the blood buildup, After three days she was able to speak softly and said she was hungry. She was unable to breath normally and recommended a tracheotomy, which was done. After 30 days in ICU she was transferred to Banner Rehab, where she was always tied down and fed through a tube in her nose. She was constantly trying to remove the tube as it was very irritable. After 15 days of this treatment of drugs and intravenous injections she was transferred to Sunview. Where she is presently being tied down, fed through the nose tube and breathing through the trach. It has been 60 days now and there seems to be no improvement in the speech, or her ability to drink or eat God help her. I can not afford the exorbitant motel, hotel rates in Phoenix so I cannot be with her as I live in Yuma. I am just waiting for the prison to call and have me take her home where she will be loved and taken care of, the guards at Sunview will only spend enough time with her to see that she has not removed the tube in her nose, they will not take the time to give her drink or food as they say she cannot swallow the drink and food will go into her lungs causing pneumonia. read more

I haven't been here long enough to really give a good review but I think I know this place well enough to know that the staff here are pretty nice people once you get to know them, okay now here's where it gets bad, it was sick a core just to ask for my meds when they were due and I was in severe pain. When I did all the nurses I was always met with such rudeness I didn't feel that the wound care was all that great either and I'm so glad that didn't I didn't spend much time here. I don't think I met but maybe one person that was nice there. Well maybe two. And that was the shower tech and a night nurse who seemed to really care. read more

Don't let your loved ones come here... I saw the old reviews and thought okay maybe they have got better since then but sadly they don't care much about their patients. My grandma needed physical therapy and her insurance could only find this place as a last resort. Her stay was originally supposed to be 3 weeks but she begged us to take her after 3 days. They don't come when she presses her button for assistance. She had dropped her water and spilt all over the floor it even spread to her roommates side of the room. But no one came until breakfast was served. It got cleaned up but after that a nurse came by to ask what she needed. I don't think any patient will need you after hours of first calling. I'm only thankful it wasn't something that serious. These nurses are not professional at all. An incident occurred between the other roommate and her family and that's all these healthcare workers could gossip about! read more

I stayed here for 3 months back in 2013. So yes this review is late but I wanted to share my experience. I had to be the patient from hell. I was miserable with my situation and I did not want to be there. The first 10 days I gave everyone a hard time esp, the PT people. Then I realized they were here to help me. I admit it sucks being in a place where you feel alone but attitude is everything. With the help of my nurses, CNA's and PT I learned to walk again. I will admit the CNA's have so much on their plate sometimes they do take awhile to answer the call button but they are sometimes assigned 10-15 rooms and If someone calls out and they are short handed its hard. Remember most of the people in there need extra time to get things done. I was lucky , aside from not being able to walk I was able to feed myself and even help with my baths. Till this day I am still friends with the nurses who cared for me and the PT's who helped me walk again. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE to anyone who cares about the person they are putting here. My uncle stayed here for months and throughout that time was treated terribly. THE LACK of CARE and COMPASSION is unbelievable. My uncle would be yelling for help for hours until someone finally would come see what was wrong. They would leave him in his soiled bed for hours until changing him. There were times when a family member would walk in the room to visit him and see him nearly falling off the bed. The food was disgusting. The case worker would AVOID my mother's calls and even THREATENED to kick my uncle to the curb. The lack of care from this terrible excuse for a health care facility is definitely a contribution to my uncles DEATH. The place was so bad we transferred my uncle to another place where he later died two weeks later. The lack of care had already done its toll on him. DO NOT send your loved ones here! My father was sent here from the ICU after fighting for his life for 2 months on a ventilator due to covid. He defied everything the drs said and was on his way to rehab and finally get to come home! His oxygen was great when he was transferred and he was doing great. He has been in there a few days and they had to almost double his ventilator settings, when we call to check on him the phone just rings and if we do get someone on the phone they are rude. Nobody seems to know anything or have any info when we ask and asking is apparently an inconvenience due to the attitudes we have gotten. We had gotten ahold of Micheal and he set up a FaceTime for us and shortly after my father needed a bed pan to go poop. So after the nurse had to "find one" he went and had no way of calling for help. He has limited mobility of his left hand and is very weak, he is also right handed and vision impaired but they tossed his nurse call button up on the table. We kept calling the nurses station for him to tell them he needed cleaned up and that he was unable to reach the call button himself but no answer. After an hour and a half of him sitting in his poop he got frustrated and reached for the call button and knocked over his phone and our FaceTime ended. We were in tears due to the unknown. My father is laying in a bed attached to a trach unable to talk, walk, use any of body to call for help or do anything for himself and I'm not seeing any care for him there. We WILL be removing him and wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. We are devastated that my dad fought for his life this long and hard to just be set back like this. Calling their number is a joke so don't waste your time, and don't bring any personal items with you because they will go through them. My father is missing $100 and pain meds from his backpack along with a charger. We stopped by for a window visit yesterday and I'm glad we did because when we arrived he was vomiting and they left him in it. I ended up calling 911 for help because they weren't taking care of him. He's currently back in the ICU. read more

This place is so poorly run it deserves ZERO stars. Understaffed, old equipment that is broken and the most uncaring management. Their staff, most anyway try so hard and are wonderful given what they have available to work with. People deserve better treatment than to be taken to this horrible place. The Doctors are only concerned about their egos making more money and not about true patient care. The building and rooms are nasty and not sanitary. This is run more like a low level nursing home than a true care and rehab center. They do not have the staff, equipment or the management to run a compassionate Caring rehab center. read more

DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONES STAY THERE!!!!!! This was such a horrible experience for my mother who was there and I for the misconduct and lack of care and uncleanliness I witnessed while visiting my mom. My mom who had had major back surgery 2 days prior to being admitted there, which is where the insurance had placed her, was in enormous pain and discomfort. She wasn't supposed to get up to use the restroom without assistance from the staff and it would take them about 45 min to come and help her. She was not given her medications on time therefore leaving her in more excruciating pain. On top of the fact that the beds they have are not made for comfort or for someone who just had back surgery. They also had failed to bring her breakfast at all on her first day there causing her to be sick from her meds. On numerous occasions they would take her roommates bedpan and clean it in the bathroom sink and not clean/ disinfect the sink. This is where she was supposed to brush her teeth. When I had confronted the head nurse about these concerns and told her that I was going to take my mom home, she immediately went into defense mode and said if I took her out of there then I would be going against medical advise and the insurance would not cover the transport there or any of the stay while there. Crying to my mom that I was sorry I couldn't bring her home she looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes saying she wants out of this place. It was terrible. Please people do some major research before putting loved ones in any kind of facility and I hope this will deter u from using this facility!!!!! read more

They don't care at all! The patients wait 40 min to use the toilet! There not given their medication unless patient asks for them. You never see a doctor, they suck insurance dry. Patients push call button and nurses never show up! Do not ever admit anyone to this place. It reminds me of the movie "One Flew Over The Kookoos Nest! read more

A few employees were diamonds and are exempt from my comments. The employees are stretch way to San and hands cannot give proper care. Overmedication is common. i don't know where to start - my daughter came from another facility in pretty bad shape - within a short time she was doing much better. the employees were were friendly and caring.... now to the other part.... i often asked the doctor about doing some research to see if there was a procedure that would help my daughter - i was always told that they do what their patients body wants and asks for - what? several times we came to visit and noticed that she was full of mucus - snorting and required suctioning... we always had to request for someone to do that for her.... she spent approximately 3 years there. my views were still on the positive side except for the lack of better care with suctioning. i finally got the dr. to agree to have a neurologist take a look at her and evaluate her progress. she went to the neurologist on thursday - was fine on friday and dead on saturday. at the hospital we were informed that she died from cardiac arrest. my son - a glendale police officer said that in his opinion she died - choking on her own mucus - her nose was clogged with dried on mucus and her throat was full of mucus also. that was a year ago in february 2018 i asked a lot of questions - the time from when she was found "unresponsive" - the time that cpr was performed and the time that she was transported to the er don't add up. i am still not sure how to feel about this incident - in my gut it says that this was pure neglect on their part and it should be reported. somebody is responsible and needs to be held accountable. read more
