Lillian today was super nice and helpful when I needed help scanning some melatonin gummies when the tag was bent. The Deli's hot bar food is also really good. I often grab a fish plate during lunch and it is amazing. They also have really good mashed potato's and Mac and cheese. However, some of the attitudes (that seem to be pretty common amongst West Monroe) are less to be desired. I'm not perfect at customer service myself, but was upset when the pharmacy threw my prescription in front of me after I had asked for the correct one. They had also snapped that I need to "give them a second" and seemed pretty annoyed with me overall.

About 5 months ago, I stopped in and the cracklings had clearly been sitting for a while, they were tough. I explained my concern and even offered to pay extra just to have a fresh batch cooked. After going back and forth, they finally made them fresh, and they were exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to today, I called ahead and specifically asked for fresh cracklings. The young man on the phone said okay, no problem. I walk in 5 minutes later and there's already a bag waiting. I asked where they came from and she told me they were cooked that morning. That was an immediate no for me. If I'm spending $21 for a pound, I don't want tough, sitting all day cracklings. Go ahead and put those back. I ended up trying the boudin balls, big mistake. You could tell they had been sitting too. At that point, I didn't even have the energy to go back and forth or ask for a manager. Honestly, it should be a given. But it does lack a whole lot of my fave items that you find in bigger cities since frankly, we're talking about Monroe here. Also, the selection is a bit overpriced/inflated, but that's because they don't have much local competition lol (prob likely bc they need to import or ship the items to them tbh). But still, if you need something to whip up a specific Asian dish or just want to try something new, this ain't a shabby place to stop by! A few of the ladies in the deli have the WORST attitudes. It's very off putting and I'd rather pay more elsewhere than having to deal with those issues.
