Stayed in 2 different rooms here during our week long stay. The first was a king bed where there was no working WiFi. The hotel offers WiFi but none showed up. We went up to the office, couldn't get a straight answer. Called, the person was extremely nasty about it and said that it wasn't working because of our devices - 5 different devices and not one even picked up the WiFi! Called the next morning and spoke to someone else who informed us that this room doesn't get WiFi. When we asked why we weren't told this before checking in, we were given no answer. We were offered the option to switch rooms, which we accepted, and a $28 refund. The smoke detector was also disconnected and we informed staff of this but no one ever came to do anything about it. Safe. So two days later, we extended our stay and switched rooms. We reserved a queen bed and ended up with 2 double beds. ‍ Husband didn't want to deal with anymore shit so we just accepted it because they were the same price. During our stay here, we had house keeping not only knock on the bedroom door but literally BARGE IN on SEVERAL occasions even after we told the office that we didn't want house keeping nor did we want housekeepers just entering our room. As you can see, this was blatantly ignored and caused MAJOR issues with me because I have PTSD. So our stay here was just one PTSD episode after another. It was far from pleasant. In closing, the rooms are very nice. Not well kept up by cleaning staff as we found belongings from previous visitors and more, but it wasn't bad. At one point out bathtub wasn't draining and nothing was done. So we removed the drain block and cleaned it out. If that wasn't the most disgusting thing I've ever been forced to do at a hotel before. It's not my job and I shouldn't have had to do it. But I did. Nasty bandaid and shit covered hair and all. ‍ Disgusting And it shouldn't have been left up to me to do. So between the constant house keeping busting in and destroying any aspect of peace or privacy, the internet went down several times, the fact the smoke detecter was never reconnected even after we requested someone to deal with it, the fact we had to clean out our own drain, and the blatant disregard of our requests ended up in a horrible stay. The rooms are nice and that's literally all this place has going for it. I'd never recommend it and we were thankful when our stay ended!

Broken tiles and black bath tub floor

Absolutely disgusting in room 307. Booked a non smoking room but was given a smoking room because it was their "last" room. For $700 a week I would expect at the least clean sheets. The room is falling apart as far as bathroom tiles being broken up and paint peeling off the walls. Incase you needed a fast escape the third story window does in fact open. If you enjoy a cigarette tar filled room than look no further! This is all you are looking for and than some. If you want a half decently clean room go somewhere else.

DO NOT STAY HERE. It is beyond filthy and not what anyone should expect from a National hotel chain, even low budget places like this. 1. Black mold covers the bathroom walls, especially under the sink which was also falling off the wall. 2. The exhaust fan was broken and covered in mold. 3. The room carpet was dirty and stained. Not fit for bare feet. 4. The bed sheets had human hair scattered under the covers. 5. The lamp shades were spotted with mold 6. The "non-smoking" room included a dirty ashtray and stunk so badly of smoke that I had to sleep with my facemask on. 7. The smoke alarm had been ripped from the ceiling. DO NOT TRUST the description, photos or reviews from hotel websites that promote this place. It is not normal. It DOES NOT meet any basic sanitary standards. I will report them to the State health department.

Absolutely terrible service. The entire building smelled like smoke and the room didn't even look like it was pictured online. There were cigarette holes in the top cover on the bed, the pillows were a lot smaller than what was shown online, the AC was halfway torn off the wall to where you could see through to outside, the smoke detector wasn't even on the ceiling (we found it in a drawer under the TV), and the safe wouldn't open. It was obviously that they didn't even clean because we found a bottle cap on the floor next to the bed which they would've found if they had made the effort to vacuum. On top of all of this, the maid almost broke down the door 30 minutes before check out time to clean our room. I know that this place is pretty cheap but you would think they would at least be able to provide the most basic things a hotel needs to stay in business. I'll be contacting the better business bureau to tell them about this atrocity. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The dirty tub...after I wiped it down! YUCK

Location and Views 5 star Hospitality 5 star…read moreBreakfast 5 star Lil details 5 star Comfy bed/room 5 star Totally will come back again as this is our 2nd trip here in a few yrs. Total relaxation with every detail taken care of. First the husband/wife innkeepers Shawn and Steve were amazing and cared so much that we had a wonderful stay. We had my elderly parents w us in their ground floor room called the "Islandscape"and we had one of the main house "Narada" room. The view and location were fantastic. The breakfasts were special 3 course including fresh fruit and something sweet and savory. The baked goods every day by Shawn showed her love and talent for baking--even a goodie bag at our departure. If I lived closer, I would come more often! There's a game room, binoculars, hot chocolate w mini marshmallows, beautiful sitting areas to enjoy the view throughout the property including the front porch where we hung out after dinner. The restaurant right across the street about a stone's throw away at Charles Street served tapas and seafood w live jazz in a Sat night. We also tried Bugeye Grill another night and they were fantastic too. Never really had to get back in the car as you can walk just a few blocks up to the main part of town w a few shops and restaurants. Right next door is an outdoor salty tiki bar that looks fun when it warms up more. I could go on and on. Oh, and Calvert Cliffs park is only 10 min away by car where you can find shark teeth and fossils, which we did! Soo much better than a hotel or airbnb!

It didn't have to be anywhere extravagant, just somewhere that I wouldn't have the every day creeping in. I booked just a mere two days in advance via third party. From the reviews on that site and the overall look of the pictures made it seem like an ideal place to spend a night. That is until I was near it and my heart nearly dropped out of my chest. When I initially rolled by I couldn't believe my eyes. From the outside this place looks closed. As I approached the lot all signs saying "Country Inn & Suites" had been removed from the building and pole from outside. Not only that, but there were containers in the lot, old furniture from the rooms, and building materials. The time that I arrived, there weren't many vehicles in the lot either making it look like a skeleton crew was working on the building. I pulled in, drove around the building once and parked because of confusion. The building was obviously in the middle of remodel or repair. As I stated earlier the signs were removed, all the covering for the air units removed, and various shades of paint on the outer walls. It really makes you think, "Is this place even open?" I drove back around to the front and heading to the door. I was half expecting that they wouldn't open, but they did. I walked in and the many boxes of building materials continue into the lobby area. The lobby desk wasn't manned at that time and it still gave off that vibe that they weren't open. Eventually someone came along and asked if they could help me. "Yes, are you guys open?" She reassured me that they were indeed open, just in the midst of a rename/remodel/rebrand. As I opened this review I said that I would probably be the last person to review this spot before the change. She had informed me that this location was leaving the Choice Brands and moving to Hilton Brands. No idea if when they will be finished with all this, but what I do know is that this is very much needed. It was around noon when all this transpired. After being reassured that they were indeed open the lady asked me if I wanted to check in. I knew it was too early, but she was able to get me in. Why not? I made my way through the process and soon had a key in hand. I moved my vehicle and made it to my room. I can see why they are in the midst of a rebrand/remodel. The room was definitely not up to standards. You don't see it at first, but once you get into the room and settled you start to notice things. Once you think you've seen them all, more just pop up. The first thing I noticed was the long stain on the carpeting. It was really noticeable since it was darker than the rest of the carpet. The next thing I noticed were the curtains, there were holes in them and even when closed, light gets in the room. Those were the only things I noticed at first. I then decided to sit in the chair in the room and try to take a very little nap...that is until the noise of the remodel started. They must of been replacing the floor upstairs. At that, I took it as a cue to get out of the hotel for a bit. There are a few pluses here. The room came with a fridge and a microwave. Great if you wanted a little in room treat. Breakfast is served every morning. And ample parking. That's about where they stop, for now at least. When I returned back for the night I noticed that no matter what I did for the air in the room, it never was comfortable. It was freezing for the most part until I jacked it up to 80. Then it was overly hot. What was the culprit here? The windows, who would have thought. This is one of the few hotels that actually have windows that open. I checked those and notice that both of them were unlocked and cracked. Once those were corrected the temperature evened out and the noise from outside really dropped. This room was also really outdated. No USB ports for charging and minimal outlets nearby. Unless you are alright with your items being across the room for charging. Then there is the WiFi, shoddy at best. Each time I wanted to use it I had to resign in. It was a bit annoying. Then, just as I was getting ready to fall asleep, I saw a flash in my room. The light in the small hallway into the room, the light we all use as a nightlight, burnt out. Scared the crap out of me at first. Hopefully once the rebrand is completed this will feel brand new. At least everything they have to offer will be open for use. Including the pool and gym.

Opened in 2009, the hotel feels much older with bedding and furnishings that have certainly seen their share of keggers and bachelor party mayhem. While I can certainly understand a few dings and chips, the bathroom vanity sports toothpaste splatter that housekeeping clearly thinks adds spice to the dismal popcorn ceiling, beige surroundings. For the love of god, break out a rag. Although the fig leaf sized bath towel was both frustrating and amusing. If the rooms matched the sparkle of the public areas (lobby and indoor pool) this hotel would be a constant sell-out. Next time we're shut out of our usual haunts I may just have to re-book and bring a keg. One can only hope. Three beige stars. Note: Contrary to the Yelp listing the hotel is adjacent to the Patuxent Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD not Andrews Air Base.

The place was in need of a face lift, and for the amount of stress they're likely under, they're doing their best. Rooms were scrupulously clean. Linens smelled fresh, and were gleaming white. Beds had usb outlets next to them. Plenty of lighting options allowed you to customise your mood as you wish. A/c unit can not be controlled by the controls on the wall. Instead, you need to go up to the unit low to the ground to control it. No sign to inform you of this. TV doesn't have any streaming services. Only the basic channels found on a list opposite to the night stand that had the tv remote. Alarm clock showed the wrong time. Regardless of what floor you're going to, the elevator will stop on every floor. Also, there is only one elevator in the entire building, so heaven help you if you're relegated to a room on the far edges of the property, and aren't adept at walking. Also, you need to press and hold the button to call the elevator or to get it to go go your floor. Hot breakfast is included in your room price. Includes bread, thin bagels, 2 kinds of muffins, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, tea, biscuits, gravy, some kind of meat patty, sweetened yoghurt, and some other stuff. When the food is finished, it's replenished quickly until breakfast time is over. Breakfast is 6 am - 9 am on weekdays, and 7 - 10 am on weekends. People staying in the hotel are usually here for long term stay rather than short stays like I was doing. This meant that pretty much everyone we met was extremely friendly, and happy to chat with you to commiserate about the overall jank of the place. I made some friends that I'd see often when stepping out for a smoke or something. You're a very short walk from several restaurants, liquor stores, a Walmart, and next door to a Mexican restaurant that will offer you a 10% discount if you show your keycard when ordering. As was the case with everyone I met in town, staff at the local places are extremely friendly and seem to be trying to make their job as fun as they can make it while still keeping professional. Were I planning on seating for more than a few hours a night to sleep, this stay would have been bad enough to cut my visit short. I'm trying to give as many allowances as I can. Our desk check in folk told us our room had been renovated recently. It still looked overall janky. The closet space is tiny. I had space enough to hang up a couple of coats, a couple of suits, and a few T-shirts. The phone does not call the front desk. You have to make a hike down to get anything done. The ice machine was on the 1st floor only. Other ones were out of order. The pool area and other outdoor spaces looked wrecked and stayed that way. Breakfast area was under renovation, so the breakfast was served in the conference room. Ok, that's fine. But instead of having the place set up nicely, there were piles of boxes with supplies piled in one end of the room. There is coin operated laundry on premises, but no dry cleaning services on premises. When asking front desk if there is one nearby, desk agent told me to look it up myself. My main frustration is that this place has a ton of potential to be a cool little experience. The longer term guests are really friendly, and make the experience fun. The location is central to so much. The rooms are decent sized, but laid out in a dumb way. Communal spaces are there, but kept up so shoddily. It's all just sad and tired looking, and the customer facing staff are just over it all. They all do their job, and a couple are even friendly enough, but they're all feeling like every day is so long and please gods get me out of here.

I always like to give a lot of leeway due to covid and the employment issues that are basically everywhere. I didn't actually stay at this hotel, but I wanted to share my experience trying to stay at this Hampton Inn. I booked my stay the same day as my stay and expected to arrive around 7pm (4 hours after check in) and head to bed as I needed to be up fairly early the next day. When I arrived, which was around 730pm I was told that they would let me know when my room was available and they added me to a list of ~10 other people waiting for rooms. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there wasn't one and the best they could do is have me talk with the housekeeper supervisor, but they preferenced that he wouldn't be very nice. I called the 800 number to hopefully get some answers, because the front desk was just unable to answer the most basic questions or provide any real timeframe. When I spoke with the woman on the phone she stated that there were issues with the rooms and they told me to wait, but she couldn't guarantee me a room. Eventually she called the "GM" of the Hampton inn who basically told me to get a refund. That's not really how this works though as I just drove many hours then now be told to get a refund. I eventually elevated the call to someone else in the call center since the person who I was speaking with would only offer me a refund. Fast forward 2 hours later the person on the phone finally figured out how to move me to a different hotel, but was trying to increase the cost per night and didn't understand why I wasn't willing to pay the additional money, since this wasn't my fault. Around 1030 or so I finally had a new reservation and all is well. I did have friends stay in the hotel at the same time, who stated they were having issues with clogged sinks and general housekeeping, but there was zero response from the management at the hotel. This place needs more than a few things, so until they get housekeepers, maintenance people and professional front desk staff - stay super far from this place. Thanks for ruining part of my trip. I called the hotel and spoke to Janine and asked her if we could have a room on the first floor, non allergic pillows and if the dogs were allowed to stay in the room while we went out. The answer was yes. Our dalmation is very well behaved and we have left her for short periods like while we were having dinner. Last year we traveled across the country and never had a problem. So last night the family had a pre graduation dinner on St. George's Island. We were finished around 8:30 and as I was leaving I got a call from the hotel that Freckles was barking. We were on our way back and about an hour away. Then I got another call while we were driving. It took us an hour to get back and I apologized. I never want to upset other patrons at a hotel. By the way, the room was on the third floor, not the first as we asked for. So we were not allowed to leave Freckles today and I missed the graduation. I was broken hearted bc we had just traveled two days to get here. The night before we were in a La Quinta Inn in Selma, North Carolina. This hotel was loaded with dogs and they barked on and off but no problem. So maybe this Hilton Inn should advertise "bark-less dogs". Or at lat least put them in an area where they wouldn't bother anyone. We're spending another night here because we already paid for the room. Freckles will come with us everywhere. Fortunately there are many restaurants with patio seating. Unfortunately we couldn't bring her to graduation- my loss. PS. The staff and breakfasts were excellent!
