We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this sweet property nestled right directly on the water. Bunnies hop along the property grass eating clover, wide old trees provide canopied shade, the sandy shoreline glitters with pearlescent shells, while hydrangeas in blue and pink sway in the breeze. It's truly picturesque. We stayed in a Queen room facing the ocean with a covered porch. It was MARVELOUS. We spent our afternoon lounging on the porch in the chairs there, watching birds and boats go by. We walked along the water as the tide came in and enjoyed the serene quiet of an adult establishment. I love families as much as the next gal, but it's nice to get away! The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. They provided us with snacks and coffee in our room and even made our very late night check-in a breeze! Would highly recommend to anyone. You can't do much better than this.

Our family next to the private luxury beach cabana we rented.

My family and I stayed at Sandaway for two nights recently and had an amazing time. It is right on the Tred Avon River with stunning views that included watching sailboats from the Yacht Club nearby. Contactless check in was a great touch as when we arrive we parked and just entered our rooms. There was an option to rent a private luxury beach cabana which we took advantage of during our stay. That cabana had a TV so we watched movies that had scenes that were shot in Oxford and nearby St. Michaels like "Wedding Crashers" and "Failure to Launch". Rooms are very clean with plenty of amenities. Oxford is so close to St. Michaels, Easton, and Cambridge you have plenty of activities and sights to see. If you are looking to disconnect for a truly relaxing vacation stay in Sandaway it is worth checking out and staying. My family is certainly staying again next year.

I was having a long week and just needed to get away for a bit. So I got in my car and ended up here at 10:30 pm hoping they had an available room. To my surprise they had a cozy little room and made accommodations for my last minute visit after hours. Not just that, but Mr. Ben Gibson gave me a great rate, got me a key and in no time I was enjoying the beautiful view of the water on their lawn chair late at night. My morning was followed by a delicious complementary breakfast in a basket in front of the water as I enjoyed the sunshine, the birds, and the soothing sound of water. My soul needed a quick getaway at such a relaxing and beautiful place. My room was very clean, the private beach is awesome, and Mr. Gibson was very professional, helpful and made my stay even more memorable with a special Sandaway soap gift :) I can't wait to comeback again in a few weeks!

This is an excellent place to "get away from it all." There are plenty of restaurants and a general store within walking distance and the breakfast basket is a nice touch. The staff is very helpful and they even fixed a malfunctioning lock on our door within minutes. The WiFi is slow so don't come here expecting to get a lot of work done (you'll enjoy yourself much more this way, actually). With water surrounding you at every turn, this is a beautiful, serene escape. Can't wait to come back.

Beautiful place for some peace and quiet time. If you're looking to relax on the beautiful shore, this is your place. I will say though that it is a case of the room looking better on the website than it really is. We were at the beach view room and despite the beautiful porch with incredible scenery, it could use some renovation, for the shower and some other parts. The place is also more expensive than some other Places in the area and refusing a one night stay guests is not something I appreciate. Having said that, everyone are friendly, the place is beautiful, they give you everything you need to enjoy great time at a beautiful place. Would definitely consider coming back.

Great place: fantastic location, welcoming staff, and nice amenities. A bit on the expensive side, and the walls are kind of thin.

Lovely B&B in a quaint town. We stayed in a beach front room and left relaxed and rejuvenated. We can't wait to return.

Located by the Patuxent River with a breathtaking view, Endeavor Point, is a ridden gem with campground, private beaches you can swim, a huge fishing pier, and cottages for rentals. From the moment you step onto the grounds of this place you feel your entire body relaxing. It is an amazing experience! I rented a cottage (Mermaid Folly) for the weekend. The place was very well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room furniture, very comfortable beds with soft linens, clean baths with soft towels. In general, the place was very clean, well decorated, and very functional. What I loved the most about the cottage was the balcony with a fantastic view, sitting outside under the tree close to the water, and listening to the waves breaking by the river shore. I also loved my walks in the mornings and afternoons by the breezy beaches and pier watching people fishing, the sunrising, and the sunset. I strongly recommend Endeavor Point if you want to just relax on a visit during the day, if you like camping overnight, or staying in a very comfortable cottage over the weekend.

It's a small beach with a short shore and there is shallow water. I saw herons and folks using metal detectors. The sandy area had cool shells and some interesting bugs. I liked that there was a clean bathroom between the parking lot and the beach. There were picnic tables on the sand where we enjoyed snacks. They were shaded so it was nice. The bad: There are lots of jelly fish that can definitely sting so you basically cannot get into the water. No tents are allowed. The interesting: I saw lots of dogs here running around in the water. It looks very dog-friendly despite other reviews saying there are signs that don't allow dogs.

Originally, we were interested in Matapeake Beach because of the dog beach. However for our first visit (of hopefully many visits), we decided to leave the dog at home because it was super hot. But, I think in the future, we will take the dog if we can arrive to the beach around 8 am. The second reason we were interested in this beach: It is fairly close to Silver Spring, MD. With a departure of 9am, we arrived at the beach around 10 am on a summer weekday. For the most part, we did not experience too much traffic (on a weekday) in both directions Silver Spring-Matapeake-Silver Spring. Also, I think there were 1-2 tolls in each directions. Overall, I thought the beach/park was very clean and well-maintained. I'll note that there are not very many amenities (if any) on or near the beach the beach (e.g., food vendors), which necessarily was not a bad thing for me. Although parking is limited, it is free (a very pleasant surprise) as of June 2025. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there were like 50 (or less) parking spaces. Since we visited on a weekday, we did not have any trouble finding a spot in the parking lot. However, I can imagine that parking my be a bit of a nightmare on weekends and holidays. Also, the access to the beach was free (another pleasant surprise). The folks at the beach were pretty friendly and respectful of their surroundings -- for instance, I did not hear super loud music (just the soundtrack of waves, a few dogs barking, and a few kids playing); see people acting a plum fool; notice substantial litter (or other not so fun things) on the beach. Even though we were disappointed that we had to take down our beach tent, the park ranger was super nice about it. The water was a pretty smooth with little to no waves so it is nice for little humans and dogs. I think I had to walk about 0.25 miles to get to a point where the water was waist level to me, but that was a VERY minor inconvenience. Overall, I think this is a great beach for a quick day (or half a day) trip.
