I decided to stop at this hotel after driving several hours on a road trip. I chose this hotel because it was very affordable and located close to the highway. The staff was very helpful, but the hotel was quite outdated. The room was very clean and had all the basic amenities, I got a good night of sleep, but would only recommend this hotel for one night if you are looking for an affordable place to stay. I was pleased to see the amount of care that they have demonstrated to limit risks to guests during these tough times. The room I stayed in was cozy with a very comfortable bed. I have been staying here for two weeks now and I have enjoyed my visit very much!! The rooms are comfortable and all of the appliances work very well. The beds are queen-sized with no less than 3 excellent pillows and I slept extremely well! The a/c unit was perfect in my opinion. The noise level outside of my room was minimal. Only the occasional sound of a visiting family could be heard from outside the room. The housekeepers are also friendly, helpful and very kind too. Not one of them was ever in a bad mood but consistently gracious to me and my husband. We were both happy with the service and would recommend this location to anyone interested in having a good nights sleep and an excellent free breakfast, served at 6a until 9a, each morning. The waffle maker makes the most delicious and adorable waffles in 2&1/2 minutes. The syrup dispenser makes the waffles more delectable! If you prefer a cold breakfast, they also have cereal, cold milk and rolls, bagels,etc. available. The traditional sausage and eggs are available too. I'm a fan of decaf coffee and they make a fantastic coffee every morning! Raman and his wife Kota have been exceptionally attentive and courteous all the time and they helped keep us content by giving us lots of clean linens and towels, constantly throughout our stay. We truly appreciate them! The housekeeping staff is better than expected here, so we are grateful to them for ensuring that our visit was successful and enjoyable! We came in here when we had a plumbing issue so as to ensure running water for our children. Upon arrival we turned the fridge setting to cold, but found our milk and juices tepid in the morning. I have attached a photo, taken in the restroom of room 107. Aforementioned photograph shows what is clearly mold. Unfortunately, we did not notice this until morning. When I reported the issues to the front desk, I was basically told to "suck it" because we had already spent the night. Our room was a non-smoking room, which somehow managed to still smell like a pack of cancer a day was being sucked down in it. I will never grace this sorry excuse for a hotel with my presence again. read more

I hate to say it but it is this disharmonious environment that I have to give it a two-star rating. The person at the counter was nice so that was good. Everything seems clean and orderly and in decent condition, so that's good also. But the things that are bad seem really bad and interfere with my peace of mind and comfort on a minute by minute basis. The TV setup is horrible. It's too difficult to navigate around the channels that you don't actually have access to. The aspect ratio on the television wasn't set up for me ahead of time so I had to figure out how to do it manually with the buttons on the television console itself. The remote control to the television doesn't quite work consistently. It seems as if someone might have spilled a drink on it or something. And the way the noisy air conditioning system turns on and off sporadically is pretty distracting and makes it hard to fall asleep. The place LOOKS comfortable but it just doesn't feel very comfortable to me. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Not only did we find bedbugs and promptly try to check out, (only to be denied a refund) but also we were insulted and belittled in the process. When we offered proof of the bed bugs we found, we were told they weren't "real bedbugs" but I was unaware there was a simulation bed bug outbreak going around. We had booked thru a 3rd party, who actually tried to get a refund on our behalf when we told them what happened, but they were denied too. A female employee literally told me "there's nothing I can do." She actually tried to say WE brought the bugs at one point also. Never had such a terrible experience with a hotel before and not only will I never return to this hotel but I'm done with this entire hotel chain. read more

I called while an hour away and the manager gave me a price of $59 for two people in a no smoking. Upon arrival, Cher, the clerk was very sweet and told me she would give me her favorite room because it had a recliner and was easy access. Ask for room 118, it's huge for this level of hotel. The no smoking rooms are in a separate building and that is a great thing. This is definitely not a Marriot or even a 3 star, but this room for the price was a very good deal. We will stay here again when passing thru. read more

We stopped through from Texas on our way to Utah. We ended up with 3 beds for around 80$. Not a terrible price, but you do pay for quality I'm afraid. When we first unlocked our door and walked in, our room was INCREDIBLY hot. It took a bit for it to cool down, but the AC did it's job. A couple of the hand towels looked pretty dirty and stained, so we just didn't end up using them. There was a wall next to where the coffee pot was and a sink, and there was coffee splatter all up the side of the wall. I wasn't too concerned with the heat and towels, but after I saw the wall, I decided to check on the reviews. It was about 3 AM at this point, and I saw video footage of bed bugs from another Yelper! Totally gross! It doesn't make you feel any better about staying in a hotel with a 5 month old during the pandemic when the whole room is disgusting. I found out later in the morning that they refused our military ID because it wasn't done online. I can understand that being out of their hands potentially, but that needs to be changed. I am not personally military, but my family members are, and they deserve the respect or effort at least. I was disappointed to hear that. I wish I had taken photos, but I was so exhausted, I just went to sleep and left first thing in the morning. read more

Typically, when you stay at a Super 8, it's not for the amenities, it's usually due to budget constraints at the time. But, you still expect the basic services to be there, ie, a clean room, functional appliances, etc. Not here, for a Super 8, they charged us almost $100 for one night. The first thing I noticed was that the main hallway smelled horrible, like feces! I had to pull my shirt up over my nose. We were traveling from St. Louis back to Salt Lake City on our motorcycle and my knee was giving me a ton of trouble, we got all of our gear into the room and went to the ice machine to fill an ice pack, but it didn't work. Then we went to the on-site laundry in the next bldg over, but there was no soap to buy in the dispenser. I limped back to the front desk and told the manager, he said I was mistaken, that there was indeed soap in the machine. I limped back to make sure I wasn't a complete idiot, nope, no soap. I gave up, walked back to our building and held my nose down the hallway. My wife went to purchase a bottle of water, but every vending machine was empty. We had a partially full bottle we brought with us and decided to put it in the fridge, but the fridge didn't work. By this time we were beyond frustrated and said, "Hell with it, let's go the bed." The next morning, we discovered that the packet tray for the coffee machine was missing, so I guess we don't make coffee! But... they advertised a hot breakfast, so we'll get it then. By the time we showered and loaded the bike, it was 8:00 am, breakfast was advertised as 6-9 am. when we went into the alcove, there were no eggs, no sausage, no biscuits, the only thing left was old gravy at the bottom of a warmer . That was the last straw! I went to the manager and complained, he apologized profusely. I said that was too little, too late, I asked how he planned to compensate us for the fact that we got very little of what was promised and advertised? He just kept apologizing again again. You only get one chance to make a good first impression, you blew it. This place is terrible. read more

Tried to use "guest laundry" waited for over an hour for tub to fill. When it didn't I went to the office. There the man at the desk denied any responsibility in the operating of the machines and said "I tell anybody who asks to not use them" then he suggested I had not followed the instructions on the machine. Needless to say, no offer of refund. When I stated that the woman who checked us in didn't inform us that the laundry was not working. Then he said "Did I ask?" I replied that being open implied advertised services. He disagreed. I asked if they had thought about putting up a sign. He replied that they wouldn't do that. In addition, the front desk is unattended and service is slow. This is just a rinky dink hotel with a couple running this with little effort. Weeds surround the building and a picnic table is pushed up with trash in a corner. Sketchy at best! read more

We were very surprised with this Super 8....a step above the average Super 8. Obviously freshly painted exterior and interior halls as well as this room. Carpeting is very clean and neat in appearance and possibly new and the restroom is modern granite counter top. Quiet location, away from the freeway about a block or so and no neighbors within 100 yrds. Room was also affordable considering the recent remodel. read more

This is not a spectacular hotel by any stretch of the imagination, but for approximately $50 a night, I think it's a good deal. The lobby is small and assaults you with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. I was a little dubious about the non-smoking room I had asked for, but was pleasantly surprised when the back building was entirely smoke- and pet-free. I've had experience in the past with "non-smoking" hotel rooms which are really more of a "no one is smoking here right now" kind of hotel room. This was not one of them. The room was a bit bland and furnished with the fundamentals. It was clean and looked like it had been built or refurbished fairly recently. The insulation between rooms wasn't great so I wore my ear plugs and had a great night's sleep. Breakfast is included in the cost of the hotel room but I would strongly advise bringing your own breakfast supplements if you stay here, I'd also advise to take your breakfast back to your room as the television on full-blast an the lingering stale cigarette smoke in the breakfast room does little for the morning appetite. I was expecting the normal hotel fare: bad coffee, instant oatmeal, white and "brown" bread for toast, some fruit, etc. They had bagels (plain, white flour) bread (white and "brown"), biscuits, gravy, the requisite bad coffee, and hard-boiled eggs. I made myself some toast and was thankful that I had some fruit in my room from the day before. It's not hard to understand why this country has an obesity problem when places serve food like that. Overall I think this hotel is a good deal and would recommend it to travelers passing through. read more

We stopped overnight on 8/31. During this period of time in history, COVID 19 was active and there was significant controversy over wearing masks. We wore masks. When we arrived the desk clerk was outside smoking and was not wearing a mask. There was a little boy hanging out in the lobby without a mask. Inside the lobby we smelled a strong odor of marijuana being smoked and the smell extended into the hallway. Thankfully, the room did not have that smell. The room price for 2 was $74.52 including a $9.00 tax. The room was clean otherwise and our night went well. I've stayed in many hotels during my 6 years of car hauling, but this Super 8 in now one of my favorites. In hoteling, you look for a nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable room at a reasonable price. Well this is it. A queen size bed, a comfortable lounge chair, big screen TV with many channels, and clean! The manager was very friendly and efficient with my check in. Microwave and fridge come standard. Very nice. I was stranded in Colby during a blizzard, and the only place with rooms left was this motel. My past experience with Super 8 motels has not been very positive. I was pleasantly surprised upon entry. The lobby and breakfast area were very small, but extremely clean. The staff was friendly and found a room for me quickly. The nonsmoking rooms are located in an entirely separate building, which I loved! The room was newly remodeled and renovated with a modern style. The colors of the room were calming and welcoming. The room had wifi, a television, refrigerator, microwave, comfort control heating and cooling, and quite a lot of dresser and table space. I missed the free breakfast due to me sleeping through my alarms. Which I guess indicates that I was able to sleep comfortably and soundly. Overall, this was the best Super 8 I have been to, and would highly recommend staying here! read more

We had to book it because we didn't have no option. First of all, the front desk wanted to Charge us $85 dollars. She didn't seen professional at all. she Made me and my husband feel very unwelcome. I then called customer service and we were able to get the room for $75. I still feel that is very expensive but we had to book it because my sons were cranky already. Room seemed so dirty. Carpet had stain and the towels were just so dirty. We never had a problem with super 8 until we got to the one in Colby. Front desk lady had an attitude with us when we called about issues with the tv and refrigerator. I don't recommend this One at all. read more

I stayed one night at this hotel this past weekend. They charged my credit card 3 times for one night's stay. I called them and they said that their system caused this to happen because I use a debit/credit card. I had told them at checkin to run it as a credit. Their answer is that it is not their fault because other hotels do this all the time and I just have to live with it. They said that I would need to wait up to 15 days for the pending charges to come off. In the meantime my account shows the money as spent and has reduced the available amount. I feel ripped off. The person I talked to tonight would only say "I am sorry, but this happens all the time" and that "that is the way cards and these accounts work". in other words too bad... we have your money frozen until we decided to release it. Very professional. Got a good rate on the phone. Free wifi. Basically everything I needed, no trouble, nothing out of line.

My room was actually gross. One bed had stains on the sheets, the curtains had what looked like a dried blood streak on one (didn't get close enough to be sure!), layers of dust, water stains on the ceiling, chipped paint, burn hole in the nightstand (??? How does that happen), and a generally funky smell to the room. For the price, you can't expect much luxury, but cleanliness would be nice. Looking at this place, you'd think it was just a step up from an hourly motel. read more

My husband and I recently returned from a month long trip. Stayed in several hotels. The Super 8 in Colby, Kansas was the least desirable and one of the most expensive after dog fees. Stayed in several La Quintas that were way nicer and less expensive. Even without pet fees we would have been disappointed. It is over priced for a bare bones room. This motel is off our list. And maybe all Super 8's. It was a total rip off! read more
