This place is actually not a Super 8 anymore. It's called the Republic Hotel (of Ozona). We stopped just to crash for the night and ended up at one of the most beautiful atriums I've ever seen (i havent seen any others but this shit was beautiful lol) . Monsteras everywhere . My gf cant even sleep knowing how many plants are like 30 feet from our hotel room. Ok yes the rooms are realllyyyy crusty LOL but i checked- no bed bugs at least. DO NOT STAY HERE. Wish this could be 0 stars. There is actual poop all over the building. Bird and other animal..... The young girl and guy at the front desk like to talk back to you and question you when you say there is a problem. I dont know who is lying about it being clean. Stained counters, broken dirty paint and sheet rock. Bad ac units, dust everywhere. They have a bird colony living on the outskirts of the building. Easy 10 nests between my truck and room. The beds are horrible, box springs are horrible, tv channels are horrible. Breakfast was horrible. Area is horrible, gas price next door is horrible. Honestly, you are better off sleeping in yor car. read more

It's unfortunate these people don't take care of this establishment which seem to be very nice on its glory days. For what they charge is not worth it. Saunas don't work and they look like trash dumps, ice machine doesn't work, the restaurant next to them is just awful, they stop servicing when ever they want to and yell at you, everyone smokes inside, it's disgusting. They are not friendly and don't seem to care. Honestly people like this don't deserve our business. Take a look at the pics. Never coming back. read more

Starting my review by stating that this is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Mold and mildew in the room. Floor is dirty. Found hair on the blanket. Odor of smoke lingering in the air. Sheets look like they have not been washed. Half used roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and that's it. Towels were smelly. I showered and air dried. Stayed here because hotels in town were booked. Would I recommend this place? Definitely not! Zero stars if I could. Need to at least add one so I can post my review. read more

I regret to have to say that this hotel was the filthiest run down place I have ever stayed at. The room was like something out of a horror movie. Caked dirt along the walls in the door way. Broken glass picture frame on the wall. A dirty tennis shoe print on the bed spread. A smell of decay or mold. Brown crusty material inside the mini fridge. It was disgusting. I went back to the registration desk and told the clerk. He gave me another room. It was NO better. Filthy and smelled worse than the first one. The toilet was actually used and not flushed. I went back to the desk and told them I refused to stay at their hotel and returned the key. I also told them I wanted a refund for the $66 I paid. To this date, I have not received a refund. I sincerely hope the health department looks into this establishment and takes appropriate action. read more

I stayed here in October 2015 and had a great experience so I stopped tonight. First, upon entering the room, I found the TV on, the remote on the sink, lights on and one of the beds messed up. Obviously someone had been there, watching TV or ????. Definitely NOT worth the $99 bill. There were indentations in the closet doors, terrible unrepaired wide nicks in the paint where furniture had been smashed into the walls. I'm crossing this place off my list. This place is a hot mess. When we arrived, we walked through the room and out onto our porch that overlooked the atrium. The atrium/pool area looked really nice actually, with real trees and plants. Then we noticed that our porch was covered along the sides with cigarette butts and beer cans. I went down to talk to the guy at the desk: I asked if our room was smoking? "No, no smoking anywhere." Then why is our porch covered in cigarettes and beer cans? He just shook his head, "well, sometimes they smoke." My husband told me later the pool deck was covered in cigarette butts as well. The sink, shower, and toilet were all covered in black hairs, like someone had recently shaved there and no one made any effort to clean it up. The toilet was not cleaned, all sides of the seat and bowl had someone's old urine on it. By the time I was noticing this, my kids were already in the pool with their dad. Reflecting on the absolute disinterest from the desk guy about the smoking issue, and the fact that is was late and we were tired from driving 6 hours, I just grabbed our multipurpose cleaner (in our car for our road trip) and cleaned the dang bathroom myself. The towels and the bedsheets WERE clean, thank god, but when my son dropped his stuffed animal under the bed, we discovered a whole other forbidden world of trash: empty beer cans, plastic bottles, scraps, wrappers, god knows what. The management here must be just totally incompetent and have zero cleanliness standards. At one point on our way out I ran back into the main area to use the restroom, I found myself in a maze of hallways, one with a sink that was covered in some kind of substance (pool chemicals?), another "women's changing room" that was just some kind of filthy storage room, and when I found a bathroom, big surprise! It was filthy, with the trash piling onto the floor (women's sanitary products included), toilet roll across the floor; toilet, sink and floors looking awful. This place must have been so cool in its heydey. Hopefully some tastemaker Austin hipster will buy it and return it to its former glory. read more

A dump. Seriously. Do not stay here unless you don't have any other options. I travel extensively and stay everywhere from 5 star resorts to 3rd world rat traps. This place is rough. I checked in at 9PM and the breakfast area looked like a frat house on Sunday morning. The water spout in the bathtub was completely covered in rust, but the bugs in my room didn't seem to mind. This place may have been nice in the 70s, but it hasn't been properly cared for since then. P.S. To Wyndham- You have soiled your brand in my mind with this property. P.S.S. To the owners- A little elbow grease goes a long way in making sure your property is clean and free of hazards, instead of splayed out behind the desk shoving Cheetos into your mouth. read more

We stayed here Jan 10 2017. I loved it! The pool/hot tub area was the highlight of the hotel. The pool is heated. You are surrounded by evergreen plants, trees and Ivy. The room we stayed in was pool side. We could literally walk out of our room and be in the pool on 5 steps. The room was neat smelled great. Although not a lot of channels to choose from but we didn't mind. Check out was at 12 which is an he longer than most hotels. The short bald man at the front desk was very nice also. There is a restaurant right next door which we ate at. It was good also. I will definitely be staying here again read more

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!! Just an all-around horrible motel. Where to start? ... The whole place felt dirty, from the carpet and tile in the room, the mold over the air conditioning unit (that they have rigged over the door to the room). Want to take a shower? Be prepared for leaves and other "questionable" crap to fall/blow out of the air vent that is on the ceiling in the shower. Plus the hair in the tub from the precious guest(s). Gag!!! Look out the window in your room to the "atrium" where the pool is. Old, moldy, and in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The room for the night is worth maybe $30 per night and NOT the $75 we paid for one night. And BEWARE of the "Restaurant" on the property. We walked in to the overpowering smell of cigarette smoke. So disgusting (and unhealthy) in a place where people try to eat. Slow, indifferent service. Nasty, bleak "salad bar" with empty bowls and containers of food. Typical greasy food options AND the added bonus of dirty floors, moldy walls, and plenty of smoke hanging in the stale air. NEVER EVER AGAIN! One star is WAY too generous for this dump. read more

I stayed here on the way to San Antonio for my daughter's 13th birthday. The place is dated and moldy, but we just needed it for a night. We checked out and when I got to San Antonio, my card suddenly doesnt work. Turned out I was double charged. After several attempts to call, I was told I would get a refund. We never received it and my daughter and I had to sleep in a Walmart PARKING LOT. The next day I was called a liar until I threatened to call the police. I just went home at that point. It's been a week. I have written proof where he admits he owes it and is giving me the runaround. I plan to press charges and sue for my horrible vacation on Monday. Do NOT stay here!!!! read more

We stayed there on July 25,2018. We had a reservation a week ahead of our stay thru Travel Bound. There was bird poop all over the door to our room(door handle had been wiped clean). Inside there was a variety of dead bugs in the bathroom. There were three of us. One bath towel,one hand towel and one wash cloth. There was no shampoo or soap. We decided not to bath, I wonder why. Bugs, no soap, sharing a towel for three. We had a return prepaid reservation but opted out even though we lost our money. This place was the pits. I'd rather sleep in my car. read more

We are low maintenance folks so this place is awesome, and should be better celebrated! I can see what it must've been in its glory days and it has such potential to be a perfect getaway. Staff is helpful and friendly. Super convenient all night store and gas station, and an on site restaurant open til 10pm. There is freeway/travel noise, and the restaurant like the hotel has so much potential but is ok. The inside atrium, hot tub and pool are truly unique and we enjoyed every minute soaking it up in there. The highlight for sure. The beds were nice, clean, new and comfortable. It was a perfect budget hotel for a family traveling, or visiting West Texas for the weekend. Close enough to visit Carverns of Sonora and S. Llano River. We even drove over to Ft. Davis for a day trip. Perfect place to crash and play in the pool. If the hotel would take a bit more time cleaning rooms and details such as vacuuming behind and under furniture, and cleaning high volume surfaces, I would give it a higher rating. They need to re-paint, and get cleaning staff that helps improve these ratings. Bottom line- grab your swimsuits and enjoy West Texas- just don't forget the Lysol and Clorox Wipes. read more

I want to preface this review by saying I went in knowing very well that this was a 2.8 star hotel and I did not expect much but was still so disappointed. My husband and I were on a road trip and drove very late until our very first stop at this hotel. We were very tired at midnight and we're ready to check into our room. We pull up to the registration desk and there is a sign that says "check in at Exxon gas station"... first of all there was no Exxon gas station it was a Chester's. We enter the Chester's and there is no one in sight, I start looking around and eventually calling out because there is literally no one. We wait 30 minutes and some guy comes out unapologetically and asks me "what I want". I was so displeased with the customer service but I didn't say anything because we were so tired. We finally get up to our room and there are old French fries outside our room door (222). We get in and it isn't even the room I booked, it was two double beds.. the shower had pubes in it and the air conditioner was covered in black dust as well as the ceiling, which didn't look like someone just didn't do their job once. There was trash on the floor and under the bed, easily fixable but I felt like I was walking into someone else's room. Everything else is what I would expect of a hotel like this, hard bed, cheap sheets, and less amenities.. which would have been perfectly fine with me but the customer service and the cleaning crew were very much so lacking. $60 and a bed but I still would have preferred to sleep in my car. Fix the night crew and the hygiene and then I might go back. read more
